The average female don't have the level of endurance or strength that the average male possess. As proof, here is the USMC Physical Fitness Test requirements.

Males
2 Pull Ups
1.5 Mile Run - 13:30

Females
Flexed Arm Hang - 12 seconds
1 Mile Run - 10:30

So I think that realistically, Femsheps should start with slightly lower health, slower storm speed, and weaker melee attack than a Maleshep of the equivilent class.

Given that all Alliance Military go through genetic modification (mentioned in ME1), the gap may be close enough to not be too noticable.
