As simple as the title says. Will my computer run the game on higher options without lag. Hope this is the right spot to post it.

Specs:
Processor: Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz
RAM Memory: 3,00 GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS
Resolution: 1900x1200 or 1600x1200

If it doesn´t work then i'll probably just get it for the Xbox-360 but i'd rather get it for PC since it's cheaper.

Thanks in advance

You meet the 'recommended' specifications issued by BioWare. Whether that maps to "high" settings or "medium", I do not know.

My specs are similar to yours but slightly lower i decided to go with the Xbox version (although my pc has surprised me before), I don't think i will hit the higher settings with my specs. I will probably wait till they release a PC version thats bundled with the DLC.

When a PC meets the recommended specs in my experience it usually means you can play on medium/high maybe highest if you turn down/off some things like shadows and dont use the highest Anti-Aliasing option

If I remember correctly, the Xbox-360 doesn't run on high settings, so the game will look alot better on the PC, and the requirements aren't exactly high-end.

Thanks for the quick reply Lord Clocks.

Is there recommended and minimum requierments in the specifications? Because if there is then i'd guess im atleast on medium. A thing I noticed is that the character creator demo gives you a set of options from the start. Are those reliable as to what options you will be able to run the real game on?

*edit* many replys while I was typing thanks for the info. Weird that the Xbox-360 version doesn't run on high. I'll look into it a bit more but im leaning towards getting it for PC after Arachijas info about the Xbox version. If the game doesn't work as expected then I'll just return it and get it for Xbox instead. Again thanks for the info.

The CC settings are not reliable, according to the devs. I think you'll be able to play on medium high settings with your computer depending on resolution. Get it for 360 if you prefer gaming on the 360, of course, but I suspect the PC version will look slightly better on your rig, you'll spend less money and you'll have access to the toolset and mods.

I like both PC and Xbox games so it doesn't matter to much. I also have a quite large screen for my computer (resolution 1900x1200) so it will look good without doubt. Didn't know there was a toolset, sounds really cool. Thanks for the info MrGOH.

Anyone knows if Xbox controller for the computer is supported for this game?

Like MrGOG said you really need to tell us your resolution to get a valid answer to that question.

1900x1200, that's pushing it with a 8800, you probably won't be able to max everything. Start by getting rid of the AA and aniso... Maybe go easy on shadows too, if memory serves me i think that's a little more CPU intensive.

We are basically guessing according to the rec. specs though, we won't know for sure until the hardware sites start coming out with the benchmarks.

Okay thanks wonko33. Any difference if I use 1600x1200 instead?

Graphics isn't all though as long as im not down on low settings then im pretty satisfied.

For comparison sake:

The devs and some of those lucky enough to get to play the game for the last press event have said that the following rig was able to run the game at 1920 x 1200 all options turned to max AND a 8x anti-aliasing: 8800 GT and a low end quad core CPU.

I'd expect that you could run the game with 4 x AA @ 1920x1200 at medium-high settings with no issues.

Which GTS? The 512mb should run it on max. The 320/640 on high. So sayeth the devs (they run a 1080p projector with the 512mb one).

Note that the Xbox is about the equivalent of medium settings at 720p (1280*720)!  So no contest.

Sounds good. Medium with nice AA is good enough. Thanks for that information Kinthalis ThornBlade. Im almost 100% certain of getting the PC version now that all of you has given your opinion. Most of you seem to believe that my computer will manage the game on atleast medium maybe high, and since medium is what the Xbox version uses then there is no doubt. PC is cheaper, has better performance, toolset and mods. making it overall the better choice. Thanks everyone that have had their say in the thread.

The important question was asked by flem1. If it is the 8800GTS 512MB which is more or less the same card with the 9800GTX I would be surprised if you couldn't max the game.

How do I find out if it is 512mb or not then?
