Actually Ship there are 3 destroyed Turian vessels in the surrounding area of the Collector ship. You see them when it switches to the quicktime movie of the SR2 moving towards the CS. So yeah, TIM lied about *who* sent the distress signal.

Id like to reaffirm as a number of people have mentioned that Cerberus is basically a necessity, one of those organizations that has to do the ugly things necessary. On the rogue note, it does seem likely that some of these people did things without TIM's approval. Archer was feeling the heat and then went bananas and *SPOILER ALERT* did those horrible things to that specific person *SPOILER*, TIM did not specifically order him to do that. Same with the Pragus facility.

Sorry, but I can't accept that every operation that goes bad for Cerberus all when rogue. I will agree that Pragia *did* go rogue because the logs there clearly indicate that they were hiding their experiments from TIM. But the problem exists that according to EDI (after she's freed from her programming restrictions) that TIM keeps the number of cells limited so that he can keep direct watch on all Cerberus operations, that means that either TIM is incompetent (highly unlikely) or very aware of what is going on within.

Personally I sympathized with TIM throughout most of the game, since he was much more of a realist then others (especially over the Collector base issue). Id like to point out that without the horrid TIM or Cerberus there would be no Shepard alive for Round 2 *Ding Ding* and thus the Galaxy would be royally screwed. So yeah, TIM for Galactic Savior.

again, we'll have to disagree about TIM being a "Galactic Savoir", yeah, he brought you back for the Reapers, but he also has his own agenda going on with your resurrection. And as to giving the CB, that's about as smart as (gotta thanks AdmiralCheez) giving anthrax and nuclear weapons to Jesse, James and Meowth who are the very epitome of incompetent and regularly prone to creating their own disasters in every one of their *plans*...

Cerberus never went rogue.

Kahoku either made a mistake, or simply used the word "rogue" in the meaning of "bad" ("renegade" in ME sense).

I don't wanna click that link and get sidetraked, I'll never make it back, explain!

Well Kahoku was a representative of the Aliance, and Cerberus murdered him! I'd pretty much call that the definition of rogue dude. Unless you have some proof Udina or the Council or Anderson or some Much higher ranking member of the Alliance ordered the hit... but then I'd pretty much consider them rogue too...

I'm not copypasting the OP from there to here, but the idea is that the entire Systems Alliance is "rogue".

Of course, you, as Commander Shepard, can behave however you like within the limits of the options the game provides you with, but bear in mind that going anti-Cerberus, like Anderson, technically makes you an unofficial traitor to that organization (I mean Systems Alliance).

Good enough for me.

Oooohhhh I hate that idea! I want us to be part of a greater galactic community, not a bunch of racist power hungry douche bags!

Oh, well he also lied that there were Turians still alive, which is what didn't make any sense distracted me from my mission and pissed me off. He shoulda just said they're all dead damnit. Not to mention that it was a trap.

First off: Hahahahaha!

Secondly: So does Goldman Sachs, doesn't make em all not dicks! Dicks who shipwrecked our economy at that! Then jumped overboard with their life rafts made of money leaving us all to the sharks...

Point being: Cerberus are dicks! (EDIT:) ... with dental.

well in terms of cerberus and its relationship with the alliance. its all speculation, but i think cerberus still work for the alliance and earth based goverments. Hell TIM and Admiral Hackett probly meet up for lunch in my mind lol

I think you may be right as a LotSB dossier on Hackett shows a letter from some random Lieutenant requesting permission to bring Shepard in on charges of terrorism for working with Cerberus and Admiral Hackett's  reply is 2 words, "Request Denied"

I think Hackett knows whats going on.

I think Hackett knows a lot about everything but I also get the feeling that the only person he realy works for is Hackett. His connections with Cerberus = only speculations. I hope we will see more of him in ME3.

I don't remember seing him in ME2, is that some DLC thing? I remember he used to call me all the time in ME crying about his f***ing problems, hahaha!

He's a BAMF though! Especially with that "Request Denied"

Although he should have gone all "Chapelle" on them and replied, "Request Denied B****es"

The Illusive man never said the Turians were still alive. He said they were wiped out after they sent off a distress signal.

Personally, I was never angry at the Illusive man for not informing Shepard of the Collector trap. It seemed too obvious that the ship was a trap and I felt Shepard was an idiot for not expecting one. The lack of hull damage and squad comments about "something doesn't feel right" were easy hints.

Could've been hit with a gnarly tech attack, but yeah to some extent you're right. TIM still shoulda spilled the beans though. Knowledge is power, if you don't share it you keep all the power BUT your people don't have the power they need to get the job done! Intel is vital to carry out combat ops and I got boned by my own boss, not that the rest of the Galaxy isn't trying to bone me too!

Bottom line, the best dental in the galaxy ain't gonna help me when TIM gets me killed by not sharing vital info. Screw Cerberus. EDIT ... and their dental!

As far as I know we only heard of him mentioned in news and some files. Yeah he reminded a lot of TIMmy in ME2 in that way. The difference is of course that TIMmy usualy was to blame for the problems he wanted Shepard to fix for him.

TIM knew more about the situation more then he let on. Perhaps the details of the distress signal might have included something like "Its a Trap!" Heh... Like being sent into battle against a inactive Death Star just to appear before it and get blasted with planet destroying goodness cause some idiot did tell you all the details.

Hah! That's a good point, if they were laying a trap why'd they let you enter the ship at all, instead of just blasting your ass on arrival. Harbinger's stupid!

Although to be fair to you:

My cousin and I were discussing sci-fi a while ago. When I revealed to him that I would like to deploy a planet destroying WMD just because it, "would be awesome!"

He responded, "Haha! YOU'RE A DICK!"

So I guess I'm kind of a dick too...

OP, so you don't like Cerberus, wow... really *looks at the other countless topics of people slamming Cerberus*

Who cares, as long as I get a choice to stay with them if I think my Shepard should (otherwise have that line between Miranda and Shepard about the latter joining cerberus is pointless), I don't care if you get your chance to say SCREW YOU to them, hell a few of my Sheps want to say that.

See that is the beauty of Mass Effect, players get to CHOOSE. People are entitled to their opinion but insulting people because of their choice if anything speaks high volumes of you rather than them.

This is not a place for logical debate sir!
Either angrilly bash Cerberus, douche-ily defend it, or keep it to yourself!
