Yup, I agree with everything that has been said in this thread.

Do it before I toss Miranda and Jack through the airlock, my characters have never really trusted Miranda, and sympathy for Jack is fast wearing out.
Though I am wondering if they left the platonic out because it's a cliche "I just wanna be friends"

Supported. Dinner on the Normandy is completely awkward now.
Rather than have the whole crew throw themselves at you, Bioware should have the player do most of the work.

Guys, come on. We all know there is no way to have a conversation with the opposite sex unless you're sleeping with them.
THAT is why we need a game where our characters do NOT have the irresistable sex appeal we have in real life.
Support OP's proposal from FemShep's point of view. Jacob... ah I can't even begin.

Why do I have to shag my own friends to get them to talk to me? Why can't we all be bros and brosephines?
I support platonic conversation in ME3.

I was talking to my squadmates for an entire hour, and Tali, Jack, and Miranda all tried to put a move on me. I accidently'd and lost Liara. Had to restart all the way before I talked to them. I'm not speaking with those 3 anymore.

Wait, wait, wait, WAIT! You mean, if I play Sheploo again in Mass Effect 3 and Miranda (or her femme fatale equivalent) is available for discussion. I could simply talk to her and she would not immediately think sex? Or my Femshep can talk to Garrus devoid of sexual interest and not have to contend with his calibrations?

Jesting aside, I love it! Ahem, you know, in a completely platonic way.

This makes an enormous ammount of sense.
Hey I like you, and I've been amiable with you. So how are you doin... I WANT SEX.
Pardon?
You have been nice to me so you must want sex.
Ummm... no I was just being friendly. I already have this relationship goin... WELL **** YOU.
Yeah... no this shouldn't happen. There should be a way to clearly indicate romantic involvement and be able to opt out while still being nice. I hate needing to be a jerk if I just want to be friends with someone. Absolutely 130% supported.

Absolutely.
I always found it strange that a game who's story partly revolves around recruiting and gaining the loyalty of squad members makes them hate you for not wanting them...
At least ME1 felt like a little bit more of a challenge.... though it was still way too easy IMO

Haha, no. I just did a quick googled and that was good enough for the joke. Never noticed it does look like a clown until you posted, xD.
