As annoying as Jacob is as a romance option, you can't deny that he kicks ass in the friendship department.
Let's spill some drinks on the citadel!
ME3- Please for the love of god, lets just be friends!

Yea, it would be nice if we could have friend trees of dialog and not have to go all "Kirk of SPPPACE!" to people in order to get more backstory out of them.

This has to be the most agreeable things that has been posted here. Almost every thread is full of divisions, but this one is pretty much agreed by everyone. I hope that Bioware listens to this.

And make sure the line delivery isn't "flirty" if we are just friends. I couldn't make my FemShep talk with Jacob at all. She sounds ready to jump him right there, even though I don't want to take that path. I didn't get to know his character until I did a MaleShep playthrough.

Yes, a friendship path would be great if you choose not to romance them.
I think it should be Shepard that does the asking for a deeper/romance option with the NPC's.
I hated the flirty talk to Jacob when I had NO interest in him but wanted to get to know more about him.

Coming out of hiding to support this idea wholeheartedly.
More bromance is needed.

completely agreed on the friendship tree. it was damned annoying how it cut off if you weren't trying to romance them.

I completely agree! I only talked to Garrus a few times and after that it was either romance or not talking at all!

Sorry, each and every ME 3 teammate will extort various sexual favors out of your Shep in exchange for continuing the story. In fact, it's kinda like the loyalty missions in ME 2.

I WANT MY BROMANCE.
Also, no more calibrations. YOU CALIBRATE ONE MORE TIME I WILL KILL YOU GARRUS.

Here's hoping that "Bromancer" is an official achievement for ME3.

I support this entirely. I like the romances, I really do, but some of my Sheps aren't too romantic, and I didn't like suddenly hearing romantic music just because I was nice to Thane. No, I didn't tell him I wanted him. I was being nice to him. You know, like a friend? Must Shepard always have ulterior motives? Sure, sometimes it works out (Garrus romance is very sweet) but I shouldn't have to be a jerk to avoid romancing someone I don't want to romance in that playthrough. So yes, let's have platonic friendly relationships with everyone we don't romance--even if we don't romance anyone. (And hey, maybe some of our squadmates can romance each other instead of pining away over Shepard and demanding that they be sexed up.)

Also, I realize that you can't have infinite conversations with them, but is it at all possible to eventually get some DLC that you can just talk to them a bit more, maybe they'll tell you an interesting story as you progress, or something, anything more, cause halfway through the game the conversations just get boring.

Totally signed!
I also like the romances, but it should be possible to have meaningful conversations with characters you are "just" good friends with. No guilty conscience just because my mShep sees Tali as a sister/friend and not a LI. Being able to get to know Jack better, even if you are not romancing etc.
