Also, I realize that you can't have infinite conversations with them, but is it at all possible to eventually get some DLC that you can just talk to them a bit more, maybe they'll tell you an interesting story as you progress, or something, anything more, cause halfway through the game the conversations just get boring.

And more inter-squadmate banter.  I don't miss the elevators, but I do miss the elevator conversations.

Agreed. I found it abit silly how every single woman would hit on Shepard in ME2.

I found it silly that he did not act upon it haha :). But yeah, Friendshep is a must. The things said in DA:O was great and that needs to be implemented in ME3 as well

Playing as FemShep made talking to Jacob really awkward. I really didn't like how she spoke to him.

They do need friendship tracks, trying to just chat with Ashley and Liara in ME1 playthrough I'm doing and they are already trying to hump my bones and get jealous.  You'd think they'd make it difficult or something, especially with Ashley (for someone whose concerned about the regulations of fraternisation she is intent on breaking them).  I'd say they should make it harder to get them to jump your bones than just talking to them and maybe doing a mission for them, make it so that you as the player has to know enough about the character to choose the right options (like Ashley should lose interest if you say you joined the Alliance to explore the galaxy since she apparently hates that reason) or if you have been playing your Shep as someone they wouldn't like (like being too renegade for Tali or paragon for Jack, just giving examples here, though if you then have Miranda as the easy one who jumps anyone's bones you have options for both Pas and Res).

This YES PLEASE very much so.

I don't understand why I can't be friends with my female crew mates if I havent accepted their romantic advances instead of another persons or stayed with Liara.

Im all for something like this, sounds like a really well balanced and realistic system for romancing someone, when added to the ability to just be friends with someone, this would be great.

I'm not a super stud or anything, but there have been two girls in my life that I considered friends and I slept with both of them.

What I would like in ME 3 is for the above to NOT happen. I hope Tali, can just be Shep's "little sister" type friend. Same goes with all the others.

Right now, the way it works is:

Shep: Hey Miranda.

Miranda: Hi Commander. (Panties drop)

I just want the Baldur's Gate approach back. You have lots of characters your Shep can romance, but they can all remain friendly and still offer conversation.

I don't see this happening with Liara, Kaiden or Ashley, but for the poetential LIs who survive but you did not romance in ME2 I can see be unavailable as LIs in ME3.

Cheers, thanks! ^_^  Would require a
lot of work I suppose and some people would not like it since they like
to be able to romance anyone regardless of morality or choices made.

Happens in my life.  Some of my best friends are of the female persuasion, or at least have ****** (though that's no guarantee of female gender these days).

Yes please, on both sides. I nearly went insane going back and forth after every mission hoping against hope that Garrus would have something to say about ANYTHING besides CALIBRATING GUNS!

And only on one playthrough did my Shepard wish that he would ask her to calibrate HIS gun. The rest of the time they kept wishing Garrus would say something, ANYTHING not gun- or calibration-related.

Friendships between men and women are awesome. Some of my best friends are males, and none of us are ugly but it doesn't matter, because it's entirely possible to think someone is attractive on an objective level but not want to sleep with them. Much like thinking a relative looks pretty/handsome.

I miss the hell out of the elevators for just that reason.  The banter would be nice when running around hub planets/stations, but on the battlefield its unprofessional.  Though I did like how during the Samara recruitment mission that your teammates chimed in when you told the detective to not follow stupid orders.

I love the romances, but YES I would like to see more friendship options. One really nice thing in DA was I became Morrigan's friend, she even called me sister.

I wanted to talk to Garrus and well not much there to talk about after the first conversation about Ilos. And banter, this is also something I found enjoyable in DA:O. I wouldn't expect it during fights, but walking around the citadel or on the ship in the mess room or playing poker, it would be great.

I’m pretty sure I’ve posted on this topic or maybe I was and my computer crashed….who knows so I’ll post again! I do agree with the concept of this but for those romanceable or you already have them as LI you should be able to have talk friend options and a romance bracket in the neglected upper left side of the wheel. Clicking the [romance] option will open up a new wheel containing 5 different types of romance dialogue you can flirt, make a pass at, invite them up to your room, ect. If you do not click that [romance] bracket you have 4 options for friendly conversations if they don’t have something important to tell you. All I want to do after the O4 besides see how my LI Tali is doing is to say hi and she reverts right back to the, “ Are you sure you want me?” um…didn’t we already sleep together? I wouldn’t have done you if I didn’t want you! So I’d like the options for both. One of the reasons I go to the hostess bars in Yakuza is to just talk to the girls they cover a lot of topics and each girl is different some want to only want to talk about fashion (though you can annoy them by talking about some other subject) it was the fact that most of the visits contained little to no mention of sex at all. It was purely friendly until you filled up the heart meter rather enjoyable to take a break talk platonically with someone sense most of the talking you generally do in that game involves swearing, guns, and bicycles to the head!

I really hope Bioware notices this thread; 5 pages where almost everyone agrees, with no trolling or hateful posts... I thought the day would never come.

I agree that you should be able to get to know any party member in a platonic relationship, and that romance should be specifically initiated.

I was being nice to Jack, Tali and Miranda and they all wanted to hump me! I mean, if real life was like this (which it is totally not :P) I would have been stabbed simultaneosly by several women who felt that I wanted to be with them even though I was just being nice. *Snorts*
No but really, I want an option whereby you can just be friends. Having Jack tell me to fark off non-stop after all the nice things I did for her was quite upsetting
