EDI has a body. The Normandy.

And EDI's "ego" is in that quantum blue box in the Server Room. You can't give any other body to her, because it won't be her anymore.

She isn't like the Geth. Not "pure math". Her AI is dependent on the architecture of its hardware.

This, however, can be retconned at BioWare's will. So who knows.

if you listen to the dialog between efi and legion you can laugh because there both flirting with each other lol

I would be amused by Joker having the idea of getting EDI a humanoid body representation and tinkering with her throughout the game. Then in between missions she changes color and shape(never becoming humanoid just blue to red or spherical to triangular or something).

At some point EDI will just be like "Jeff, is my current physical formation displeasing?" or some random computer way of saying "DO YOU THINK I'M UGLEH? DX?!?!"

Cue Joker's response about beautiful women and the EDI 'sabotaging' Joker (like when she took control of his chair, no crazy AI take over)

first...no
second think of andromida, one AI split into 3 diffrent parts 1 is the ship, 2 is the hologram 3 is the android so no again
third, if edi had a body then the whole sense of the game would feel wrong
FORTH........the borg, EDi in an android body is just WAY to star trekish and a hologram is just.....no just no

BUT there is one thing i think would be a nice twist, the geth legion allowing EDi to share his body and the geth AI inhabiting the normandy for certain missions but only temporery. and MAYBE just MAYBE they both leave little easter eggs on each others systems, IE:- edi leaving a copy of her personality in the geths ai core and the geth leaving its technological information in EDi's AI core, at least this would make more sense.

there are so many things that can be done in ME3 i think bioware just MIGHT take up on an idea some of us players think of.

also if edi did become a love intrest for shepard in a body....what if she got depressed or had that certain time of the month

Jeff:- Edi can you tell me the correct time, my watch is running slow
EDi:- NO I WONT YOU MEN CANT DO A DAMN THING WITH ME WHY DONT YOU JUST GO DIE........................SCREW IT, LIFE SUPPORT TERMINATED, OPENING ALL AIRLOCKS SELF DESTRUCT ACTIVATED GTF OUT OF ME YOU SONS OF BIT................~sudden explosion as the ship self destructs~

EDI is EDI she doesn't need a body because she already has one. She's nice just the way she is in her current form.

well, EDI as some sort of an android similar to Andromeda's one would be quite interesting. Just without making the android body a completely independent entity and instead simply linking EDI's signal to the android body, so EDI can be a single compete personality the whole time, despite being present on the battlefield AND being the Normandy high in the orbit at the same time.

You could even intoduce some new game mechanics and abilities like giving EDI's android form the ability to transform her arms into various weapon systems depending on situation, give her a detachable arm for an hook/grappling attack so she could pull single smaller targets TO your team for easier desposing of multiple enemies. or even some sort of a leap attack for distant enemies coupled with melee weaponry for tactical use or distraction manoevers. add a strong energy emission effect similar to overload around the android body, combine this with leap attack and watch some fun stuff happen.

giving EDI a body could provide a better focus on the differences between humans, geth and KIs/VIs, even create some sort of relationship triangle between EDI, Legion and Joker for some interesting story possibilities.
and then there are various interesting possibilities within the mission design if EDI had to be in contact with her body through a signal for the maximal potential of her abilities.
on top of it the android body would serve EDI as extension of her senses, so she could analyze things on the battlefield immediately and more precise, providing more natural feeling on her interactions with various objects and commentary on them.

another plus is the fact that we wouldn't have to recruit an absolutely new crew member, wasting(well, depends on personal point of view) time on some pointless recruitment mission/story and instead could take a deeper look at what we already have on board - joker, edi and legion in this case.

EDI not having a body keeps some of the mystery up to the players imagination. I like it this way but if they somehow do give her a body towards the end of the game it could be interesting.

well, there are even more possibilities for the game story with EDI as an android: we could lose normandy during some extremely dramatic battle in the middle of the game without losing EDI and later maybe transfer her to some extremely badass ancient alien super-battleship for the final fight against the reapers.

this would be so extremely awesome: shepard basically bringing some inanimated object of unimaginable power to life, giving it a soul. just imagine all the story implications, guys.

ps.: and seriously, a romance between a total geek(joker) and android girl(EDI) would be soooo awesome
just imagine if in the aforementioned super battle with mega explosions, with normandy going down and EDI fully transferring herself into the android shape, she would totally flip out just slaughtering everything in her path to get to injured joker and then finally holding him in her arms - what an superbly awesome cutscene we could get out of this.

open up to new amazing possibilities, guys!

Please, no. :crying:  I love EDI because she doesn't need to take off clothes to be one of us. Tricia Helfer's voice-acting is plenty beautiful already.

Regardless of what anyone may say, every single straight guy here knows that if they did give EDI a body, the first thing we would all wonder is if we could bone her. And if you could, then every single straight guy here would give this change two big thumbs up.

Of course, it'll probably never happen because if they did this then Bioware would never hear the end of it from all those gay guys whining about not being able to seduce garrus as a Male shep. (Unless they did a gay option as well)

Hell, if i could bone EDI then I could deal with being hit on by an NPC that would subsequently become my least liked character LOL.

Bioware, if by some crazy parallel universe chance you actually DO this, then be sure to give EDI an actual body, none of that stupid "see but dont touch" Cortana/Halo crap. (even if we cant romance EDI)

^How true.

Jeez, the only reason anyone would push for "Giving EDI A Body", considering the Normandy is her body, is obviously just so they can bone her in ME3. I can't think of a single logical reason anyone would want to give EDI "a body" other than this.

Why? Why must she have a sexy holographic or android body? Why can't she just be a talking holographic ball on a stick? It's refreshing. Giving EDI a sexy physical appearance would be the definition of fan service. Her body is the Normandy. If the Planet Express ship doesn't need a sexy robot body, neither does EDI.

How do people find threads that are 9 months old.

Also, why do they think that replying to these threads is a good idea?

who said she should be sexy? surely i didn't.. i don't want her to be a sexy android body or a romance option.. all i ask, giving her a body, so she can defend herself and crew from inside.. do you even remember that they killed and kidnaped entire crew? and our pilot jeff is a little crippled.. she could help him if she had a body..

^ I'm more interested / curious to know how or why someone digs up a 9 month old thread to reply to it... just start a new thread if you think it's that interesting.
