Wouldn't really bother me one way or the other. While I'd say the canon shep appears to be straight what you want to do in your game is your business. I don't think it is an embarrassment for bioware to leave it out though. I find the idea actually offensive that if you leave something out you are basically automatically labeled either as prejudiced your self or a coward. People who think that are just as bad as the homophobes IMO.

I dont believe its cowardly...I just think its a bit one sided.

Well, if you listen to her she's into humans, turians (sp), krogan, varren, etc.... Kelly is pretty much open to anything that breaths (which is why she creeps me out....)

Oh, good lord.

There is absolutely nothing in the game that suggests Kelly sleeps with varren. Kelly cares for other species, that doesn't mean she has sex with everything that walks. <_<

This thread is going to end up somewhere horrible, if it has not already.

I would be quite happy with continuing the modded Kaidan romance on my male Shepard in Mass Effect 3, if it is still possible.

And one thing that I would like is a response to how "pre-defined" goes well with two women but not two men.

That is all.

I thought the title would say;

"Now that ME3 is coming, how do you feel about the end of the series?"

Not this stuff again! This is what, thread #924 about this? ME2 was the game to do it, and thay didn't. It won't happen in ME3, too unlikely. Unless Ben comes out of the closet...

Yup, that was the point I was trying to make but was leaning towards a more "kind" way of saying it.  Personally, I wanted the Collectors to keep Kelly as there is that off-chance of the scale itch spreading and wiping them out.

What a lame way for the Reapers to fail.

Check the web.... there are some dark things about her........

Im guessing she stayed up late in college because of too much experimenting.............

I believe its bit too late in Shepards trilogy. Lets just keep Shepard the way he is and talk about the game after ME3...

"The way he is"?  People have roleplayed their Shepard as being gay in ME1 and ME2.  The only thing is that there were no available LIs so this Shepard was quite lonely.   Having one gay option available to ManShep in ME3 isn't going to make all the ManSheps that were straight in ME1 and ME2 all of a sudden bisexual.

Not that I don't beleive that people did this, but for maleshep at least not only was there no gay option, but a romance was forced as far as I can tell in ME1.  I think I spoke with Ashley once and at the end she was throwing herself at me with oh captaim, my captain crap.  I was glad she basically dumped me in her cameo, at least I took it that way, I'm not a cheater in my mind.

As long as we don't have the "I wanna learn more about you Jack/Miranda/Tali/Jacob/Thane/Garrus" and automatically get a romance sub-plot. That was pretty annoying.

While I wouldn't mind in the slightest that Shepard was a homosexual, I think its established in the story that he isn't. If I create a character in a story, and as the owner of the of the intellectual property, I have the right to choose what he/ she sexual orientation is don't I?

If a spin off game were to be released and Bioware insert a character that has homosexual preferences, I would not be demanding them to make the character heterosexual.

Pretty sure Bioware made Kelly to try and make Cerberus look good.

Bioware: Hey look! Cerberus has good intentions after all! i mean, they have a human that sleeps with every sapient being whether they're male or female!

It doesn't make a difference to me if it's in or out but I'm tired of all the whining about it.

It would only be fair wouldn't it?

They should be making romance options more picky anyway, not just in terms of sexuality, but also in terms of what kind of person they like. Miranda, for example, shouldn't fall for any Sheppard that helps her with her sister. You would have the right kind of person and say the right kind of things.

So?  Straight women throw themselves at gay men all the time (it's not like they know he's gay).  The fact that every woman on the ship wants him doesn't make Shepard potentially any less gay.

No romance is forced and can be avoided.

Yeah there really should be like a pink highligted text or something for romance sub plots, maybe with porn theme music in the backgorund when you choose it.

But not only did she throw herself at me the ending was you were a couple and that conitinued to ME2 with the little picture you keep on your desk that you'd stare fondly at if you avoided a LI in ME2.

Agreed and quite frankly, I don't understand why ME has to have so much drama associated with the LI concept.  Sometimes it appears that people are more interested in the gay/straight argument than the game itself.

All the love interest stuff in general just seems to attract extremely annoying/sad people who want Mass Effect to be some kind of japanese-like dating sim.

Miranda is just as likely as Kelly, as is anyone else on the Normandy.

Your Shep is basically YOU, if you are gay, you're Shep will be gay, however, we don't always have the option to play as ourselves and that seems to be what people are complaining about. We all want a voice, we want freedom of CHOICE, not everyone likes vanilla!

I fail to see how the existence of a M/M LI frightens people to this extent. If you don't like it, then don't pursue it. Simple. It does not automatically mean that your Shepard is bisexual.

Hell, my Shepard is a lesbian. Does the fact that Kaidan will develop feelings for her, or that Jacob, Thane or Garrus are also available mean that she's bisexual? Not in the slightest. She's able to reject these male LIs, which actually functions to emphasise and reassert her homosexuality. She's just not into guys at all.

People seem to think that the presence of a S/S romance option automatically results in their Shepard being bisexual. This is false. If this romance is not pursued, your Shepard is as heterosexual as you'd like.

That ending is avoidable though.  You can choose not to have any romance in ME1 in case, you know, you want to roleplay a gay male Shepard (or you just weren't interested in any of the ME1 options).

What a lame way to revive a lame joke.

Kelly is a sweet bisexual woman. Deal with it.

Gay romance in ME movie?

That'll be worth a laugh or two.

Shepard: Hey Joker, handling the cockpit huh...

Joker: Yup.

Shepard: Nice... that's real nice....

Joker: Ooookay....

Shepard: Wanna handle this cockpit?

EDE: ....................... Jeff?........................

*zip*

EDE: ............ *shuts off cockpit's monitors*............................

I do not support queer Shepard if this is how it'll go down.

There is a thread (*Click Here*) that is meant for civil discussion in regards to same-sex romances in the game. Further discussion on this topic should go there.

Also, wishing death upon anyone on these forums is a quick method to getting yourself banned as it's a rather definitive method of displaying your disregard of the Site Rules of Conduct.

In regards to the topic?

Meh. Don't care either way. If an LI is compelling enough for you to be interested, great, go for it. If not then the world isn't going to end if you ultimately decide to not go for anyone.
