Just a word before i store PC and go roaming earth in RL

NWN2 Has always been a LOT of fun .
WHen im tired of dumb ai's and bangbang bang of FPS
i Start a new NWN2 campaign

So far i have played OC more than a dozen times.
As a Rogue a cleric a favoured soul, a sorc and a Wiz and many
variant types of these.
The Fun factor never drops.

My only wish is tha BG1 and2 could be revamped to at least NWN@ level

ah well

you cant have your cake and eat it too

PS: I laugh now at how my party WIPES the enemy compared to huge worry when i 1st played game
Learning and learning a fun thing is all the best of gaming

I am glad you have gotten so much enjoyment out of the game. I wish you well on your RL wanderings.

Also, you should know that there is a project building BG1 in the NWN2 engine.

Thanks Quixal

But damn the PC IS going away at least for 2 years.. I want to see South America.

Maybe i'll set up shop on US west coast and get back into games.

But lately they have been pretty poor. Dragonage is OK and I've played like 4 times through

with DLC's

But it is not D&D rules far from it.. It's Too easy by far, for the average gamer, fine.

But i've been D&D since 70's

Before you go, you should check out the Baldur's Gate 2 Redux mod for Dragon Age - the first part is out and it adapts Irenicus' dungeon nicely :) Very faithful to the original game (including the sounds) with some fun additions.

You should actually pop into a online world which happens to have DM's. ( There are a lot of options of where to go, but it's a lot like PNP where you play with other people, just something to keep in mind as another way to play )

Oh, far be it from me to discourage a little real-life adventure. May South America treat you well.

I have to agree that games haven't really scratched that itch for a while. And I will always have a soft spot for the D&D games of old, though you have me beat by  several years as I didn't start until the early 80's.

Still, should you want to experience something more akin to the older games look to the modding community because our tastes are not unique.

We should hopefully be here when you get back. All I ask is that you bring a camera along (and hey, maybe you could take a laptop to download your pictures from the camera and then upload them occasionally in Photobucket or any of another dozen photo storage sites and create a South American Travelogue.)

I am officially envious and if I weren't married and poor, I'd join you, then it could be two old guys on bikes. I've been playing D&D since about 1978, though didn't really get into it big time until '81. Still... Looking forward to seeing all sorts of pictures from you when you get back.

Ah the 70's.. They call the 70's ancient history now .. old school?
Still remember my first games of Panzergruppe Guderian [SPI] and 3rd Reich[AH]
After that i did some serious dice rolling in d&d. Made some pretty awesome scenerios as DM.

You want pics? Well i was going to to take just a camera and a whole lot of flash sticks.
But no pc. we'll see how it pans out.. but i will send picks if i can.. I imagine maybe Santiago
and Lima i can DL and send.
I can only do this cause im selling up house. No going back its burn the bridges
I asked myself why not.. and could not answer worth a damn.. Whats the point of life if there is no adventure?
read thousands of adventure 'type' books SF/fan and straight fiction and well just got tired of
all the crap 'normal life' piles on us. Bills and worries and more bills.. insane worthless rubbish.
I wish you were going with me... 2 is better than one but i've always been a loner so i can have a good time with myself

In any case, much luck to you. I, too, could just as easily go on my own, always have been able to enjoy my own company for long stretches. Regardless of what anyone else thinks, I find myself to be a pretty interesting person to take along on any adventure -- even if it's just me. :)

Really looking forward to hearing of your escapades (that's es cah pah days in Espanol -- or does that simply mean, "Run Away! Run Away!" I'm never really sure.) And looking forward to seeing the pics.

My first Wargame was Storm Over Europe in about 1974 *(13 going on 14) and I haven't looked at boardgames the same since.

Again, much well wishing and safe journey *(though with the occasional narrow escapade for flavor -- it's an adventure right?) as you make your way across the dog's back.

Sounds like a good adventure, I wish you a good journey through South America. And yes, some picks would be awesome.

And DNO: "Escapada" can mean both things: either the act of running away, or a vacation.

Awesome!  I ride, also.  Someday soon I'm going to Ushuia!   For now, I have to be content with riding Baja every year.

I'm looking forward to reading your ride report on advrider.com (hint, hint ;) )

This guy just made it:
