Because it's the difference between looking cool and stupid? That's my view on it. You're not going to find sympathy for realism with me.

Guess we have different definitions for cool and stupid, then. No point in keep arguing.

And about the symbol: I'd rather be squashing the revolters. If nothing else, it'd be a nice change of pace.

Ugh... it's an old Tevinter symbol for the Old Gods. It's not just graffitti.

It's not just grafitti, but it is grafitti. Like gang symbols. It's called tagging. They mark a gangs territory, or they're put there to say to other gangs "hey, we're here!" but its marked on other people's property. It's a symbol that is important to that gang, but it's still grafitti.

When I first saw that image I thought of the second, but I don't remember seeing the symbol in DAO, and the only thing that I can think of the top of my head would be the Old Gods, but I'm guessing this symbol means something different, don't suppose the preview stated where Varric was at the time?? I thought that was the Kirkwall symbol?

One fo them definitely is, however in the Varric screenshot we see two symbols being united into one entity which usually isn't done without good reason for doing so or without meaning. Only time will tell.

Well, the destiny trailer shows the death of the presumed ruler, so Kirkwall is in turmoil. You get considered as one of the  de facto leaders as you either ok someone governing for you or govern by yourself due to your actions during the events leading up to the viscount's death.

Meh, just what I presume, but still.

Whatever it is, it looks cool as heck and I want my mage Lady Hawke to use it!! 

Oddly, though, the blade of Hawke's staffsword seems to be cut off.........hmm.......the blade ninjas have been busy.........

Oh, and it seems all the screenshots of mage Hawke have him wearing this type of armor and carrying a bladed staff.  Have we ever seen mage Hawke in a regular mage robe with a normal staff?

I do hope that the style of armor mage Hawke is wearing in the pic above comes in different styles and color variants........

That's epic Hawke. It's the exaggeration armour, but not the armour in the "real" story.

I just read the article and I believe it stated that it was epic Hawke...  However, the article has really mixed up English wording, so it was hard to tell what it's saying about a lot of things.

My interest has gone from vague to mild now.

It's awesome looking plus there's a chance Hawke could upgrade his/her armor constantly with runes so he/she's not the only one not wearing the same outfit for years on end.
