Microsoft only published Mass Effect, they never owned the franchise nor have they ever owned Bioware. Once EA bought Bioware, EA and Bioware were free to put the game on whatever console they wished.Normandy30 wrote...
I wouldn't even waste the money on the gas to go look at it in the store. EA's worest decision ever. And personally, i'd like to know why microsoft droped ME and let EA take it over.
Would you still buy ME2 for PS3 even though you already own it?

EDIT: And I'm not sure but I think the 360 and PS3 have the same amount of memory
I meant on the discs, because like you said, the PS3 has a Blu-Ray drive. The big difference between the PS3 and the 360 is the number of processing cores - Noctis2.0 just explained this pretty well over in the "Exclusive Content Clarification" thread.
Anyway, the fact that the PS3 version will come on one disc is kind of a big one for me too, but then again, since I have no intention of playing through the game eleventy bazillion times more... I dunno. I'd kind of prefer to play ME3 on the PS3, but then again, you can't do a full-blown ME1-3 playthrough on the PS3, and you never will.

EA just has console publishing rights for Valve's games. Valve is completely separate from EA.Jasko_45 wrote...

EA/Bioware is in bed with Sony and was pissed that Microsoft did not release the rights to ME1 for the PS3. Don't be surprised to see the Sony group get special treatment over the xbox or PC crowd.

Won't that just allow them to store more textures, not better ones? I think the quality of the textures being displayed is still limited to the amount of RAM in the system. Again, I'm not a graphics programmer, so I'm not 100% sure.

I just got a preview of what ME2 would look like on the PS3. The visuals look more sharp and clean than the X360 version. Even though I do own it for the X360, I'll probably get me another copy for the PS3. But is it worth the buy over a graphic enhancement? Thoughts?
If you plan to buy ME3 on PS3 yes its worth it.
Looks like Bioware finally knows what capabilities the PS3 has and I hope all PS3 games made by Bioware look better then the Xbox Version

No. That'd be unfair to those who've supported the franchise since 2007.

I dunno, the clothing textures look compressed to me, so I always assumed they did that to save space on the disc, but maybe you're right. It's not like I know much of anything about how any of this works either.

Mods mean sweet nothing to me as far as ME goes, never bothered modding a shep or using the editor on PC to give me extra resources or unlock stuff, rather do that latter stuff the legit way than be lazy.
Be interesting to see how ME2 runs with the new engine.

The only differences in the two games is an increase in contrast, sharpness, and some lighting differences. Look at the comparison video. It's not a dramatic difference.
Now in response to the thread, I'll have to actually think about it. I think it's a good deal, don't get me wrong, but given my experience with Microsofts mandatory update ruining all of my games I'll just have to wait and see. I don't want a PS3 update to screw up the game after I just payed for it. I have one of the 20 gb PS3's so I don't want to take a chance. I already see what Microsoft does to it's obsolete models. For now, the PC version is good enough for me.

ME2 = Unreal Engine 3
ME3 = Unreal Engine 3
It's not going to be that different...
