I also think that bioware should stick to their word and keep it exclusive, like they said when they were interview by Game Informer. "Mass Effect 2 is on Xbox and PC only" guess not everyone can stick to their word.

Yeah, so what platforms was ME available on when that quote was given?  Here, I'll tell you: NONE.  That's right: none.  ME2 hadn't even been released for anything yet at the time that was said.  And you really think they should have started talking up the over-a-year-in-the-future-and-likely-not-even-greenlit PS3 version when asked if it would be on the PS3?

That's probably not even legal, especially given the context in which that quote was given: Jay Watamaniuk made some comments at an event in Poland saying ME2 would "probably" be on the PS3.  Obviously, they were this close to approving the port that's since been completed in the last year.  Problem was, the intarwebs turned that brief comment into a rumor that it really would be released on all three platforms simultaneously on Jan 26, 2010 (people had already been feverishly speculating about a PS3 version before he said that).  A couple online retailers had even listed it for the PS3 for that date.

Well, that was a problem.  Like, a "potential lawsuit" or potentially-pay-a-hefty-fine type of problem.  They HAD to make it perfectly clear that, at that particular moment in time, ME2 PS3 did not currently exist and was not going to be available, and that only the PC and 360 versions would be in stores come January.

Besides which: how does that quote even remotely mean "We will never, ever, EVAR release ME2 on the PS3! Xbox and PC only....FOREVAH!!"?  Protip: it doesn't.  Your problem is that you took an obvious band-aid applied in response to a PR gaffe, ignored all the context, and decided it was some sort of verbal contract that "your" game would remain where you wanted it.  Well, it was no such thing.  It was actually a plain statement of fact: at that time ME2 was only coming, for certain, to the PC and 360.

BTW, that quote is not from a Game Informer interview. It's not from an interview at all.  It's from a post on the old ME forums.

More people can experience Mass Effect now!!!

Because they're not interested in the games.

They're interested in the plastic box they're played ON to the exclusion of all else...including sanity.

I am sorry, but I have to repeat my question: shall this PS3 version be multi language?
I mean if someone coming from Italy buy the game from a UK store, for example, shall the game run in Italian (subtitles, or even the spoken language)?
Thanks again, for your patience this time :)
Cheers
Mauro

I want to know too, some mod can answer to our question? Any chance that the PS3 version of ME 2 will be multilanguage?

Dont tell me PS3 users are getting a game of the year type edition with all the stuff for free that XBOX USERS HAD TO PAY???!!!!

if not then nvm, enjoy ps3, no game should be console exclusive, ever.... but there not should be any free rides.

What's the big deal? Don't pretend like this never happen the other way around. Remember the silly PS2 vs XBOX war. PS2 usually got the game 1 year before the Xbox BUT Xbox versions of most games were more polished and had bonus and exclusive content. I didn't any xbox fan complain about that. Well now its time for PS users to get games late but with a little something to make it up.

By the way, buy the game on xbox right now, it's like 20$ bucks, you can even get all the DLC for pretty much the same price PS users will pay for ME2 in January.

I'm definitely buying this game as soon as it comes out. I was actually upset (jealous even) when it first came out and realized that even though EA made it that the PS3 wasn't going to get it.

Yes, exactly as you said.

PS3 version will include every single DLC and expansion, like a goty like edition. Not only this, PS3 version's been built using Mass Effect 3 new engine: much better visuals and performance.

If you listen to your fans, make a ME1 "re-make" for the PS3. Though I have both for PC, I'm sure others like this Idea. At least If I didn't have the PC versions, not being able to import my character on Ps3 would be one of my major drawbacks as to actually buy ME2 on PS3.

It's nothing to do with listening to fans.  It's everything to do with the fact that Microsoft helped pay for ME1 and own the console publishing rights. They'll never allow it to go to their main rival in the console market, and Bioware can't do a damn thing about it.

It is crazy what a little research does, but why that when you can assume and complain?

P.S. Bioware, I have done my research, and nothing states whether or not the PS3 has save file copy lock.

SO it means is going to cost 80 bucks to buy ME2 on PS3?? if so, then my apologies it is absolutely fair.

But if is going to cost the average 60+ bucks... man bioware can kiss my dollars goodbye for ME3, I'll still get ME3 but it wont be from them.

Either way, if is more than 75 bucks for PS3, enjoy em ps3 users the dlc's are worth it... although I never bought em :P.

If is worth 65- then hell no.

Spartas Husky and Swordz what are you talking about? it's no more expensive than a standard new game. in UK a standard new game is £40. which is what all the shops like Amazon and Game have their pre-order prices at. and given that mass effect 2 when released originally was the same price, this game is no more expensive, and argueably cheaper, given the DLC included

*facepalm*

Not this again. Seriously tempted to get Pacifien or one of the other Mods to put what I'm about to say on one of the main posts about this.

It's called Depreciation Value

As you said when it was ORIGINALLY... but it isn't now is it?

Check GAME to see how much they cost on the PC/360 now?
£20
Now add ALL of the DLC (not just the ones the PS3 is getting) which IIRC is about £16
Oh look... cheaper, granted not much but it is.

I ain't grumbling am perfectly happy getting it for £40 :D

Or... whatever I pay for it once I've traded CoD:BO and AC:B tomorrow for cash (not as much as I'd get for a game, but hey ho, no games out this moment I want to buy... lots coming in January tho dammit)

depreciation value... nice way to put it. True very true. still can we xbox 360 players get a game of the year edition then? all for 60 bucks?

ME2 with cerberus network, all dlc's for 60 bucks, I would certainly buy it for the 360.

ANy reason why bioware can't do the same for xbox 360 users? a game for 60 bucks with all DLC content

It is "depriciated" as you stated so adding the DLC's dont change anything for xbox. So why not, I'd be happy to pay for a xbox game of the year edition.

Am confused? Why would you want to buy it again? Why not just buy whatever DLC your missing?

PS3 only has Kasumi, Overlord and LotSB on the disc (as well as Blood Dragon Armor), all the other DLC is going to be on the Cerberus Network either with us having to pay for some of it or some of it free like Firewalker, Zaeed... oh and the Comic

coz I sold mine... so... I am not going to buy it again. Game of the year edition would be a nice sign from bioware.

Besides most games that are long and have good replay value come with a game of the year edition, they usually withhold it until forgive me trully, overly willing gamers liek you are squeezed for every penny.

oblivion, fallout, dragon age (bioware made it) are prime examples of the quote "good fortune comes to those who wait".

I did not waited on this one, I am a big mass effect fan and jumped at the ME2... which I told myself will not do ever again for any bioware game.

I waited for Oblivion, and while you get squeezed  and pay for everything, I got everything and only paid 60.

You can say it any way you wnat, "it lowered its value because of depreciation" or w/e

Point is, 60 bucks spent a year ago are the same as 60 bucks spent now.

Fallout 3 same thing, a year later bought it for 60 bucks with every dlc people paid for.

Dragon age.. . ehehe my prayers got answered, thing came out a while ago but every dlc, and expansion... although only one exist came for the nice price of 59.99.

Hopefully bioware will do the same as fallout did, nice separate disc.

I am just confused as to why Ps3 gets game of the year edition in all but name and we dont. A nice two little cd's like fallout 3 or in the case of ME2 3 cd's so we can choose what download we have space for to our HDD, is something I would gladly shell out another 60 bucks for.

PS: more examples I just thought of. Resident Evil.... yeah that was a wait well worth it.

,.......I think you misunderstood. My question is, why can't xbox players get the same product? as ps3 gamers, with the current dlc's. they are getting it, why not us? more money for em right? a nice extra cd with all the DLC's like fallout does it. That way they show they care about our limited space of hardrive... although not all but still.

Well, buy the game on Xbox (20$ or less) get all the DLC (5-9$ each) then you're probably still under 59.99$
So I guess you're getting pretty much the same thing. I don't see why people are still complaining. PS3 users are paying full price for a game that's now under 25$

ackward how the question is avoided after so long. I understand the value now. My question remains, any reason why xbox can't get a nice extra cd with the dlc in it.

I might not have the space to download it... I might. Like with fallout or oblivion, let me have a nice cd in which if the case presents itself I dont have space, Id ont have to rely on xbox live to get a hold of the dlc.
