Now I have an older pc which cannot handle the ME2 and I am glad I have an Xbox 360 but I know that the game is coming for ps3 on one disc because of its blu-ray capabilities and other games such as Red Dead Redemption looked different on the ps3. However I believe my ME2 looks great on my xbox360 which is hooked up to my hdtv and looks great!

Really? Interesting. There are a few things that are implied by this:

1. The engine of ME3 will not be as different from the engine of ME2 as ME2 was different from the engine of ME1.

2. If the ME3 engine is already complete, then sadly it won't take advantage of the recent update to the Unreal Engine 3 core engine.

3. ME2 on PS3 will look and run better than it did on the 360 and the PC. It will still have old textures, yes, but lighting and performance will likely be improved.

I love all this conspiracy theory non-sense. It's coming out A YEAR LATER, did you really expect it not to look better? ME 1 for PC didn't look better than on 360 strictly because it was on the PC, the fact that it came out substantially later had a lot to do with it.

Trying to turn it into a 360 vs PS3 flame war is ridiculous. It looks better, because it SHOULD look better.

That's not necessarily a guarantee. Oftentimes, improvements are just not made to the engine for these situations (Lost Planet PS3 and Bioshock PS3).

And it's not as if they had an additional year to work on the PS3 version. Rather, they worked on the PS3 version for a year as opposed to the two years on the other platforms. This is a unique case in that Bioware were already working on the sequel for the PS3, so they just used that work to speed up the PS3 port of ME2 which led to some improvements.

Also, ME1 for PC doesn't look that much better than the 360 in terms of texture work (and due to the mess up for Garrus, sometimes looked worse).

On second thought, the difference between the ME2 and the ME3 engines may mainly be that the ME3 engine does use the Unreal Engine update.  No way to know for sure.

For getting rid of texture pop-in alone it looked infinitely better. And other than weird mistakes like the low res Garrus texture I thought it was clearly a better looking game.

As for it not always being the case, it's true that it largely depends on how much effort the folks making the port put into it, but if they bother to put the work in at all the added time should result in some improvements considering the fact that is after all a port, and not an entirely new experience. The groundwork is already done.

This is BS. The PC version won't get upgraded? People still ask why I hate Sony?

You hate Sony because they are better than Microsoft.  Deal with it because there can be nothing to stop Sony.  They've taken ME's exclusitivity and will take countless more in the future.

I noticed several posts of you hating on sony or call people sony fanboys out of no where and for no reason.  You're like the ****s who killed all those people for no reason.  Just trying to find trouble wherever you are.

To be fair, ReconTeam was trolling to begin with, with his unjustifiable hate at Sony for some of Bioware's decisions regarding the PS3 version of the game. As if Sony mandated that Bioware do specific things to spite non-PS3 owners. <_<

Whatever, I'll just say:

Console fanboys, SHUT UP. Both of your systems have good graphics. Both of your systems have their own strengths and weaknesses. Both are very, very fun to play on. Just enjoy your systems, be happy that Mass Effect 2 will be on both, and don't needlessly insult each other!

I have never met a fanboy as obnoxious as that troll. From reading his posts you would've thought Sony executives did the worst things imaginable to him and his family.

Great, i knew these forums would turn into a console warzone as soon as i heard PS3 was getting ME2. These forums will no longer be peaceful, mark my words.

It really isnt all that strange to hear. I would say something wrong with Bioware if they feel there is no way to improve on game. Also with the newer PS3 they can flex their game making muscles yet again

Were these forums ever peaceful? If it isn't 360 users whining about the PS3 version then it is people arguing over something else.

Did you not look in the ME2 PS3 announcement thread? There was a bunch of whining from 360 and PC owners about how it would delay ME3, which it did not do, and about how Bioware "betrayed" 360 and PC owners. But they are a vocal minority and most of the people who bought ME on the 360 and PC don't mind that the PS3 will get the game, myself included.

The PS3 version flaming will only be a footnote in the long war between those who prefer ME1 or ME2 and will be forgotten when the next chapter in that war, ME3, arrives. Mark my words, there will be "fans" who only view ME1 as a good game and see ME2 and ME3 as trash, there will be those who see ME1 and ME2 as merely the buildup to the Holy Grail of ME3, and ME2 will get its own supporters like DreDK and Kalfear who would have you think that ME3 was a complete disaster and abandoned everything that made ME2 good.

I'm not talking about that, i'm talking about the console battles that will plague these forums all the way up until ME3 is released. The battles of which is better, and why. It won't be pretty.

Haha. True. With PC vs. 360, it's an automatic PC win. With the PS3 in the mix, it becomes a bit murkier.

The shadows in the PS3 version look better...man!

Who knows how this could influence the game? I wish ME2 on 360 could be patched or something...

I don't care, call it what you want. I'm looking my television right this second at the same moment in the game. The colors are rich just like that.
