What does that prove? That Bioware WANTS people to go to the PS3 side? lmfao you make it out to be like Bioware has launched a secret attack against 360...When ultimately if things are done the way you say they are...they will sell LESS games, which would be stupid.

and you can bet your azz if PS3 not only has a better version...but exclusive story content...I wont buy it...I will get TESV and forget all about Bioware....Like no one who has a 360 is going to be angry they are getting triple jipped? They would be angry, and Bioware isnt dumb enough to do this.

So Mass Effect 3 isn't going to leaps ahead of Mass Effect 2, nice one Bioware.

I dont think leaps are to be expected on consoles at this point. On the PC, you never know.

If you check out the podcast with Jesse Houston he drops that intruiging nugget. So what do you guys think about this?

I'll be watching videos of the PS3 version very closely, given it shows us what we'll be in store for with ME3.

Mmm! Good stuff. I mean after all Playstation gamers will not ever get to play Mass Effect on their platform coupled with the fact that they are receiving the game nearly a year later than the rest of us; so quite frankly it makes sense. I am really glad that they have polished up the PS3 version. I mean come on, don't be selfish.
Then again I'm sure by the time ME3 comes out we will have an even better engine (with perhaps a few more tweaks).

At the end of the day, the PS3 version will increase the fanbase of Mass Effect and will introduce gamers who are new to the series to, quite frankly, one of the best series made ^^. So the more we have the merrier! (as in fans)

I agree, also after giving it some thought, I wouldn't mind them (PS3) getting some exclusive content, not a whole lot at least, in the end we (PC & 360) get ME 1 and all the small choices that the PS3 Comic don't cover.

Hellooooo!? Mc Fly! ... Mass Effect uses the SAME engine. Unreal Engine 3... They only made improvements to the engine over the years.

Xarello no offense but shouldn't the dedicated fans get exclusives not the "I'll play it when it reaches me" people? What did they do to deserve extras? ME1 still exists, all they need is a decent PC or Xbox, it's not like it's barred to PS3 users:)

It is, but the engine is going to be more than five years about the time ME2 hits stores and it sure underwent many changes over the years.

Then I was saying it wrong. It depends on the content, sure I would get annoyed if theres huge exclusive content, but like I said we still get all the choices from ME1, the PS3 will not get the small choices (Conrad Verner, Melissa Bin Al-Salami or whatever her name is etc. etc.) which might lead to a lack of stuff in the PS3 version of ME3 depending on how BW handles this. Also, I don't mind stuff like the Recon Operations Pack which includes extra armor or at most a few extra guns. When it comes to "huge DLC" (LotSB-ish) however, IMO I don't think we will see alot of that for ME3 for any of the 3 platforms, at most I can imagine Sony and EA going the same way MS and Bethesda did with Fallout 3 & NV with "Timed Exclusive Content" which ofcourse is annoying, but alot better than never recieving it.
I hope this helps explaining my viewpoints and that I didn't make them more confusing :P

A reminder: console wars on these forums are not allowed. You may discuss the games on these platforms and how the game is different on each platform, but what you think of the platform versus another and the people who use one platform versus another is off-topic.

I have faith in Bioware to make everybody satisfied, they are great devs and from what I've seen they seem like they have interest in trying make as many people as they can satisfied :).

On a side note, it's a little sad how a graphics update can cause a huge console war, exclusive content I got, but better graphics, seriously :?

I don't really want to get into this, but I thought you may perhaps want to see this:

Its a not very accurate PC - 360 comparission, though I want to see a PC - PS3 comparission, any way there's another PS3-360 on ign

The engine for ME2 PS3 is the engine that they're using for ME3.

The PS3 is likely the better looking one, but I just cant seem to like the new look. My English is not good enough to describe it ... its like everything is either really dark or glowing ... like the contrast went wrong ... or something like that.

To be honest I kind of look at this as a good thing. It gives the designers some experience working with the ME3 engine so that they make the ME3 game itself even better when it hits all consoles.

It looks like they fixed the lightning (something that always bothered me, I usually play with extra brightness).

Other than that I don't see any major upgrades to the graphics.

Still screenshots don't do it justice.  Have you seen the comparison video on IGN?  They include a clip which shows a scene of Jacob with both the Xbox360 and PS3 versions playing side by side.

The PS3 version looks way better.  It's like the jump Mass Effect 2 had over Mass Effect 1.  The textures are more detailed and the game's colors don't look as washed out.  This is truly the ultimate version of Mass Effect 2.

BULL.

I play ME2 almost every day on my 360 and it no way in hell looks like that. That is blurry as **** and washed out like you say. It looks much, much better on my TV (Bravia 32").

Sounds like denial to me.

if my 42 inch hd tv ever had a game look that bad id exchange it. That was blurry, faded and why was jacob grey instead of african american. I dont deny the ps3 will look better but if the xbox version looked like that i wouldnt have beaten it 3 times

You hate Sony because they are better than Microsoft.  Deal with it because there can be nothing to stop Sony.  They've taken ME's exclusitivity and will take countless more in the future.

You PS3 fanboys are pathetic. Go be Sony's bootlick somewhere else.

I noticed several posts of you hating on sony or call people sony fanboys out of no where and for no reason.  You're like the ****s who killed all those people for no reason.  Just trying to find trouble wherever you are.

no he is right your definately a loser. i never understood bragging about a console. as someone who owns both the ps3 isnt so much better for the amount of smugness, condescention and trolling that comes with every ps3 user if its their only console

We all know that the ps3 has better graphics and i'm happy about that. BUT i don't think i'm gonna go play the hole thing all over again. I just have only one question is the the ps3 version better than the PC one?

I still don't get the point of making it on the PS3 in the first place, for 2 main reasons:

1. It's a story heavy game, story is basically the core of everything Mass Effect, it's what's always got it such high ratings. Without ME1, um, what's the point? And no a roughly 15 minute comic does not make up for 30 hours or whatever overall of getting to know your team in ME1.

2. It's on 2 very commonly owned platforms already. Most people have a PC, 360's are dead common too. Anyone who actually really wanted it would probably have it already. The slim is brilliant too, all that breaking stuff is in the past.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that ME is getting more coverage, it deserves it. I have no allegiance to Microslop or Sony. I was "raised" a a PC gamer but have owned a PS2 and now a 360. PC is my ME platform though.

It does however overall strike me as unfair on the 360 crowd.
Why? about £20-30 quid's worth of DLC free, including (by the looks of it) the Dr. Pepper stuff which wasn't very available in the UK at least. Improved visuals over the Xbox version (apparently).

So Xbox "loyalists" payed full price at retail, plus all the DLC, preordered and supported etc., then the PS3 version gets upgraded to the new engine and gets it ALL under one box for £40? To my mind, that's bound to ****** people off. As I said, I don't own the Xbox version I'm just sympathising with the anger I've seen. Why didn't they make an Xbox GOTY addition with the new engine upgrade at the same time? They're doing a REALLY bad job of making this a pleasant integration into the community.

Of course I understand Bioware's decision to make the upgrades but surely you can see what I'm getting at? It basically comes down to:

Hardcore fans payed more and get less (in ME2 alone)
Newcomers pay less and get more and not just content like GOTY style, a graphical overhaul too.

I admire Bioware's commitment to always doing the best they can, but come on, think of your fanbase, the current one. As I said though I'll stick to PC for possibiltiy of modding etc. best visuals and a nice interface. If I had to choose a console version I'd go with th 360 version for 2 reasons:

1. It's linked to 1. That's one of the biggest things ME2 got praised for and it's been ripped off a few times now. Story is everything and when even the small things had an impact in places it made it SO personal.
2. I don't like the way the PS3 does lighting. People will probably rage at me for that, but I'm being honest. I'm an art student, so I'm a bit picky. Art design is very important to me, as is presentation. I prefer the 360's lighting in msot things, even over PC at times. Often has a very natural, soft look.

this post sums up how some xbox users feel without resorting to a console fanboy war. it would be like if you were a season ticket holder to a struggling hockey team so to get more sales they give randoms tickets at half the price, wouldnt you the season ticket holder feel angry for paying more and being loyal.

i say this because in the nhl most american teams struggle and in some cities you get two jerseys, two hotdogs and two beers for like 60 bucks meanwhile the season seat holder paid 60 bucks for his seat and didnt get a beer or a hot dog.

"but he got it a year early"
