The graphics card can be considered below minimum specifications, while is probably will run at low settings (Given a dev can get the game running on a 9300m), don't expect much.

Lacking a response from CP via PM, I guess the right place to ask this question is this thread.

In the past BW has outlined the DRM/copy-protection as part of the system specification announcement. But I'm not seeing any mention of it for DA2. Will someone at Bioware be providing information pre-launch about what type of DRM/copy protection DA2 for PC will be using?

Personally I hope they go with the same system as used by DA:O and ME2, and NOT the system they chose for ME1. After the recent comments by one of EA's mucky-mucks (Frank Gibeau?) about online connectivity being integral even for single player games in the future, I'm a bit concerned that we're going to see EA copy ubisoft's insane DRM always-online requirement. But hopefully not.

The way it seems, if you could play DA:O, you can play DA2, so I won't have to cancel my pre-order, but I have to admit that I'm a little concerned about the DRM, as well. I understand the necessity of verifying the authenticity of the game, but an always-online requirement will make it impossible for me to play. My internet connection is dodgy, with brief but maddening interruptions. I might be able to stay online long enough to authenticate the game, but I would never be able to stay online throughout a gaming session that lasted longer than an hour or so. I have a lot of trouble installing DLC because my internet connection usually gets disrupted during the download.

That said, BioWare's recent games have not required an unbroken internet connection. I would be surprised if BioWare suddenly reversed that decision.

I dont mind if Bioware use what they had for DAO and ME2, I just hope EA doesnt advise <_< them to pull a C&C4 on it.

@berelinde: It's EA you should worry about. They have a.. dubious track record with drm.

At least the activation limits are unlikely to come back.

DX11 sounds good.

Too bad I my card is only capable of DX10, but again, it's a three years old PC, I might improve by the time ME3 comes out too.

It will probably be an online activation, like ME and DAO.  Companies (well, except Ubisoft) seem to be gravitating to things like the Cerberus network to combat piracy.  That is, give people free extra content you can only receive after registering the game.  By eliminating a lot of that extra content from pirated games, it serves as a major deterrant to piracy.

I think the video card will be what is making a difference in the game. My guess is that anybody with a Core I5 and Core I7 won't have CPU problems. So, for me, my ATI Readeon HD 5780 1 Go should be enough. I hope the game will be 64 bit this time.

So my specs:

Intel i7 1.73GHz

6GB Ram

ATI mobility radeon 5870

Should be able to run it on mid settings at least? I can run DAO on all high with all the eyecandy.

nVidia turbo cache uses system memory as a buffer, most info progs read vram wrong and include the total

Ati/amd has something similar

Should 2 Gigs of Ram be enough to run this on Direct X 9 on vista at a smooth frame-rate? I meet all the other requirements easily but due to a motherboard issue can't add any more RAM without replacing the whole thing.

I'm sitting on a GTX 460 (768MB) myself and an AMD 6000 X2. Just wanted to make sure it wouldn't create a major bottleneck.
