Cany anyone help? Will the following specs do?

Geforce GT 320 1024 Ram
IntelCore i5 CPU 2.67 GHZ
4 GB Ram

I know I have enough Ram, but I can't find benchmarks for my Geforce anywhere.

Your graphics card is a slightly gimped version of the GT 240. You can find some benchmarks for the GT 240 and take 80% of that number for an estimate as to how fast your GT 320 is.

I don't know if there are any recent benchmark reviews with the GT 240, though.

GT320 is simply a rebadged GT210 which is not as good as 9800GT/8800GT.

I suggest you to get a GTS450/5770/5750 if your budget is tight. Just overclock one of these cards then you are good to play DA2 with some of the DX11 features enabled :D. Otherwise, If you can afford a GTX460, GET IT!!!!!

The rest of your system specs are great! :) The only thing you need to upgrade is your GT320 card.  Sell it and get a better one.

I'm getting a EVGA GTS450 GDDR5 1GB (It's good enough for me since my native resolution is 1680x1050) tomorrow. It will be a huge upgrade because it's going to replace my 3-year old 8600GT (It's one of the worst cards!!! Not suitable for any kinds of gamers out there!!!)

I'm thinking of upgrading my video card...

At the moment I have a GeForce GTX 275 896 MB GDDR3 and I want to purchase the GeForce GTX 580 1536 MB GDDR5.
Considering that the GTX 275 is a GDDR3 and the GTX 580 is a GDDR5, can I still install it in my PC?

I already have 6GB RAM and with my Intel i7 920 I should be alright for now.

The graphics card RAM type does not have any compatibility concerns with the rest of the computer when the existing card is replaced.

Toms Hardware (UK at least) have it in their benchmarks, and it's pretty much on par with a 9800GT.

GTS250 is the bare minimum anyone wants to be looking at getting.

Ugh, my computer doesn't meet the recommended specs anymore. :( Guess that means an upgrade next year is on the cards...

Ok, so I have NO understanding of the difference between graphics cards, so please bare with me here. My laptop has an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 in it. Can someone please tell me - in easy to understand "noob language" if it'll play DA2? I'm not expecting it to match the recommended specs (as it's a slghtly older card) but it should well out-do the minimum, yes?

Hey. Download 3DMark06 (One of the most popular DX9 benchmarking programs) and run it to see how well your laptop performs. Post the result here. Heard a 4650 is almost as good as 8800GT/9800GT/GT240.

EDIT: Oops, I meant 4650, not 4850.

Lehnah: It will play DA2 at medium/high settings depending on your laptop resolution - a dev mentioned running with a Nvidia 9300M (G/GS?), a much weaker card.

DA:O performance will probably be a good indication. It uses the same game engine and has the same recommended requirements, DX11 fanciness not included.

Spectre: Mobility HD4650, not HD4850, huge difference.

4850 is better than a 9800GT. And benchmarking programs are terrible, they won't tell you how well it performs in any realistic sense nor give you any indication of what performance you'll get in a game, especially if the person using one isn't experienced with PCs. Can You Run It? is a much more practical tool and it actually gives advice on how to improve performance, with Toms Hardware having performance charts over a range of games and applications so you can see how cards compare.

It doesn't out-do minimum by a lot. You'll be able to play bit, but not with all the effects on.

Aren't the recommended specs the same as Origins?

Or am I reading this wrong?

They are, other than the DX11 stuff, my mistake with the somewhat higher minimum requirements.

Thanks guys. DA:O runs perfectly, Never had a crash or a hitch all the way through. So, I should be alright?

I tried to download 3DMark06 twice but each time it stopped at 75%. Might try again tomorrow.

It's weird. Try a different mirror.

Not surprised. So your 4650 should be able to play DA2 smoothly. Tweak the game so it will look pretty with no lags.

Would the gtx 460m be able to run this game and DX11? After all it is ""supposed"" to be a DX11 card

Yeah, but you might have to go easy on the DX11 features depending on how much they affect performance.
