Hi,

Today I went to play ME1 (PC) and I got a weird graphical bug that I have never seen before. Blue boxes and rectangles appear and sometimes flicker in some places (on the Normandy is the worst, the whole ship is filled with blue things). My system specs have NOT changed since I last played this game about 2 weeks ago and I have had this game since well before ME2 came out and never seen this issue before now. My graphics drivers are up to date as are the patches and I have done trial an error experiments with various settings without success as well as trying a reinstall. I love playing these games when I get the spare time but this issue is really ruining it for me. Is this a common issue? Does anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated so here is a thank you in advance Image IPB

My graphics is an nvidia  geforce 9800GT and my cpu is a E8400 and I have 4gig of ram.

I apologize if I have asked this question in the wrong place or if it has been asked before but I did spend half an hour searching through these forums for a similar problem without success so please don't give me a silly answer that only tells me to go search these forums because that never helps. Image IPB

Update your video driver. I forget which driver it was, but there was one recent driver which caused these issues.

As previous poster said, Some recent drivers havent been stable when it comes to ME and ME2. If you have the latest drivers, and still doesnt work, roll them back to a previous release.

Tried to switch off ambient occlusion in NVIDIA graphics card settings - without any change: The blue boxes and faces still remain, a lot of them on the Normnandy (didn't leave it yet). Other settings like AA and SSAA show effect with smooth performance.

Got a NVIDIA Geforce GTX 460, with currently driver version 261.00 installed. Can't change this NVIDIA driver to an older version, since this machine is used for development and must not be changed (or other words: I dont wanna change drivers back and forth when playwork).

ME2 runs perfectly. There must be another way to fix these blue boxes all around in ME1.

EDIT:

Quick addition: Switching off AO does indeed switch off casted shadows on the blue facets (with AO on, smooth shadows will be casted on these), but in any case these are still visible.

Wondering why others seem to not have these problems with NVIDIA 260.99 drive (social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/131/index/5000383/1#5560950)

It seems there's no other way to handle this problem without getting another driver version.

All right. In deed - NVIDIA version 260.99 did it.
