was very pissed when the Illusive Man told me he wanted me to search a collector ship...''WTF u want me to go into the crocodiles mouth & hope he doesn't snap it shut,Damn You Cerberus'' was sure someone would die,& when they didn't was sure they would soon...hence the massacre on the SM!
Among the others wrex's reunion, shep rising from the ashes in ME1 & making Sauron shoot himself were all tremendously exciting in there own ways.

i've had a few in my playthroughs of both games. most of them are from me2 though. lets see, in no particular order:
tali finding her father in her loyalty mission, made me choke up a little bit.
the farewell message on the computer console in tali's mission with the quarian saying goodbye to her family. gave me chills.
the entire normandy crash site dlc. i had an overwhelming feeling of sadness when i played through it the first time. the messages from pressley were a very nice touch. but, out of this entire dlc, collecting dog tags hit me the hardest being a military vet myself. i actually had to step away from my desk for a few minutes because i almost broke down.
meeting wrex on tuchanka. i was like "F**K YA!!!!"
finding out that archangel was actually garrus. same response as my getting reunited with wrex.
seeing garrus gunned down by the gunship in his loyalty mission. i was like "NOO!!!!!! I JUST GOT HIM BACK!!! YOU CAN'T KILL HIM ALREADY!!!!"
hearing the recording from legion when the geth asked "does this unit have a soul?"
and lastly, the ending to overlord dlc. never was i so horrified at a video game than what i was when i saw this my first time around. i still get wellings of anger everytime i play it and see it. i just wanna shoot dr. archer sooo bad.
How did i miss that one. Brilliant piece of dialogue. I spend ME1 hating geth and then in one moment i actually get all choked up and feel sorry for them. as soon as i heard the "soul" part i welled up i wasn't really expecting it. (yes i get emotional when i play games i love especially when i care about the characters in it)

As a paragon, making Saren truly understand he is a mere tool of the reapers.... he makes some effort to redeem himself... when he kills himself, I suddenly felt some genuine sorrow for this person whom I spent much of the game despising for all his treachery.
It turned Saren from a villain to a tragic figure for me.

ME2 - really the only emotional moment was watching Jack be taken when she was trying to protect Miranda, even though she probably hated her. The reunion on Horizon with Kaidan was rather disappointing, to put it mildly, but the e-mail from him cheered me up.

Every moment with Tali?
Especially, when you say after her loyalty mission
Shepard: 'Tali, about your farther, i didn't do it for him, you deserve better....'
Tali: 'I got better, i got you',
and when Shepard says that he just wants Tali and her response
Her reaction to finding her farther dead

Well in my first ME playthrough I thought Shep died when the Reaper dropped on her.
ME2 again Shepard's death and the Normandy destruction, rShep's rebirth and the rebirth of the Normandy.
Then also ME2 Jack's quest, meeting Wrex again, and of course Tali's quest.
Then when the Collectors hit the new Normandy and when Shep comes too late to save the colonists on the suicide mission. Well the whole suicide mission was kinda, and the ending ofc.

In ME1, it was probably Shepard becoming a Spectre.

Choosing between Ash and Kaiden on Virmire.
The last battle at the citadel, and watching so many humans die to protect the aliens.
For a second, the bit at the end where you thought Shep was dead.
In ME2:
All the nostalgic moments, every one of them got me.
Tali's father's death and the paragon interupt.
The ethical issues brought up in Mordins mission.
The cliffhanger ending... you know what I mean
But the two things that got me most were...
in ME1: the personal mission of the colony shep where he/she has to calm a slave girl named Talitha "daddy, he's melting" that hurt.
and following closely in 2nd place is ME2: when you save everyone and go paragon on the illusive man. So satisfying
(I have not played Overlord, but I hear its pretty tearful.)

sacrifice squad member at virmire.
ending scene with shepherd crawling out of the rubble.
the epilogue of shepherds choice with talking to the council or the human council.
FAUNTS m4 part 2 ( best song ever ).
ME2 moments:
getting joker out of the cockpit and saving his life.
Sheperd sufficating in the deep space.
finding out that Archangel was garrus.
All the squadmates personal missions.
Romance with Miranda ( gig gig giggada do).
entering the omega 4 relay.
seeing my companions die/ survive.
sheperd dieing/ surviving.
choice of destroying the base or giving it to cerburus.
Many more emotional moments but cant be bothered putting them down.

Another was the playthrough when everyone dies.
Actually Miranda was the sole survivor but seeing Jacob left by himself to hold off the collectors knowing he would die was touching.

I never saw any of the bad ME2 endings either, since I simply can't bring myself to fail on purpose ... I'll just watch the youtube vids then I guess.
Edit: Turns out bad endings aren't emotional. I can only think Shepard you ****** what are you doing. It would be different I guess if you'd do everything right and still things go bad, like Virmire.

For more happy emotions, definitely seeing Shepard come out of the rubble at the end of ME1 was awesome. Especially with that sly smile.

On Shep's death www.youtube.com/watch at the1:08-1:14 mark about....
Would it have been more powerful emotionally if Shepard's last words were instead:
"Jeff.... Go." .. Instead of "Joker" ?
Dunno why, but I think it would have broken me down completely... we never hear Shep call Joker Jeff at any point.... would've been a heart-wrenching moment (even more so than it is already).

--- not canon for me, but... leaving the Destiny Ascension to fend for its own
- Normandy SR-2 being revealed
- LotSB kiss with Liara in base, same for "little blue babies"
- Legion on why he kept Shepard's N7 armour : "no data available"
- Legion quoting from the Geth awakening "do we have a soul"
- going up against the collector cruiser ouside C-base

ME2: Meeting Wrex again on Tuchanka, losing Mordin holding the line and Garrus to the swarms. And of course Shepard's promise to Liara after LotSB

This. Plus Mordin's loyalty quest. The moments in the krogan's research structure touched me very much.

I had always wanted to romance Tali, when I had the chance in ME2 I took it. When it came time for the suicide mission, I didn't have Miranda's loyalty, but I made her the leader of the second team anyways. I sent Tali through the vents and when she tried to close the door she got kit by the rocket. I've never cried for a video game before, but that mission made me tear up really badly.
Finally, when I did the Archangel mission, I thought I was going after Thane. When I finally got to the top and found out it was Garrus, I jumped out of my chair in joy. When he got taken down, I my heart sank. I was so glad when I found out he was okay.

Meeting Corporal Toombs during "Dead Scientists".
Ashley or Kaidan's death on Virmire.
Conversation with Vigil on Ilos.
Miranda and Oriana's reunion.
Thane and Kolyat's reconciliation.
Discussing the ethics of the genophage with Mordin during his loyalty mission.
Anything in LotSB, specifically the romance scene between Shepard and Liara at the end.

It was because I added Kasumi and that prevented me from getting away with taking Garrus and Grunt to the final battle. She lowers the overall score.
Oh and when I watched Kelly die because I screwed around not knowing that the crew is on a death clock once you get the IFF.
The part that STILL gives me chills is on the Valve run of the Suicide Mission. The music, the atmosphere, it moves my soul. Then when they form up on the door and Shepard is all like "FORM UP EVERYONE ON THAT DOOR!" and Shepard, Garrus, Grunt, and Thane all line up for defense. Epic.
