ME-1

-Spectre Induction and the First Flight out of the Citadel, going full paragon. I was :o.

-Confronting Benezia with Liara, the pain in both their voices was heartbreaking.

-The Rachni Queen pleading for Life. This scene left me with a feeling like I saw or experienced something truly unique and amazing. I can't exactly describe it, but I tell you she has lived in ALL my playthroughs.

-Virmire, effing Virmire....Even though I only romanced Liara and neither one of these two, I do genuinely like them both. I felt pretty damn hollow each time the decision comes.

-Wrex when he gave me the what-for about the cloning facility. The ONLY squad member to call you on your ****. I made damn sure I have full paragon/renegade before I hit Virmire.

-Assault on the Citadel Cinematic. Again I was :o.

-Saren made me sympathize with him, when I talked ****blocked him down. He did what he good at the end and took an honorable death.

ME2
(was pretty much spoiled rotten on this but there are a few)

-Joker and Sr-2 I was :crying:.

-Garrus, just Garrus. How someone can be that tired and broken yet still sound so happy to see you and joke about taking down your shields (it WAS a lot of blood btw >.>) I couldn't stop smiling because I realized I was home.

-Horizon....I wish there was a slap VS like there is a Slap Morrigan Mod..and I didn't even romance eiether of them ><.

-The Salarian with his Asari Daughter at the Gift Kiosk on Illium.

-Liara plus LOTSB...damn...

-Samara and her Loyalty Mission Paragon Path :crying:

-Tali and Garrus' Loyalty Missions, because I was more emotionally invested with these two then the rest of my Squad.

-Garrus Romance Scene, when you BOTH realize thats its turned into something so much more.

-Suicide Mission ALL OF IT , While repeatedly yelling Sh*t, F*ck at my television. Still got No One LEft Behind:P

-Overlord DLC, besides Bioware knowing where to place those garbled shrieks. Archer and his brother left me seriously speechless.

*Looks up* Ok now the obscenely long post is over withB).

edit: I can't spell....

Mass Effect 2, Shadow Broker DLC, the reunion between Luna Shepard and Liara T'Soni. The only moment I've ever teared up while playing a video game.

Despite me spoiling both plots for myself long before i got a 360 ( dam my curiosity, it won't get the better of me over me3! ) , there were plenty of emotionally charged moments in both games for me.

- Spectre Induction: The music really sets the scene

- Rachni Choice: Without a doubt the biggest choice in me1 for me, chose to spare

- Talitha: Listening to a former colonist-turned slave describing her ordeal is gut-wrenching, to say the least.

- Destiny Ascension Saved: Watching the 5th fleet soar in and take a BIG hit willingly to help their alien allies, then seeing all the cruisers surround a vulnerable sovereign was, in my opinion, beyond description.

Yes Shepard's induction into being a Spectre was so epic.

let's see. to continue my list from earlier in the thread.

the suicide mission. i was on the edge of my seat the entire time. most notably though was the first part. having to run-and-gun through everything to get to the vent panels so your techie could advance. that was the first time in me2 that i actually went forward with reckless abandon to get it done because i sent in Tali, and she was my LI. hearing the frantic cries for you to hurry up all the while trying to keep Harbinger at bay was no easy task on my first playthrough. but, when i made it, i was like "F**K YA!!! TAKE THAT!!!"

when i found out that the Collectors were actually genetically modified Protheans. i was like "WTF!?!?!?!"

the unveiling of Normandy SR-2. the music was sooo appropriate, and Jokers "It's good to be home" comment just tied it all together. i actually had to hold back tears of joy. i was just so elated.

the three man bachelor party in the Illium bar and the dialog that went with it. i was laughing the whole time "See that dimple on her abdomen? It's called a belly button. Humans and Asari have them, and you're going to be taking shots out of it later." "Ugh, that can't be sanitary." priceless...

aynways, more to follow later i'm sure. but those are some of the more prevalent ones i can think of right now aside from the ones i posted earlier in this thread.

None of the really made me sad. Sort of desensitized and apathetic. There were some **** yeah moments like the Wrex bro hug.

Just worked my way through both games for the first time over the past three weeks. I absolutely fell in love with Liara in ME1, so most of my emotional moments surround her. Encountering her on Ilium and seeing how much she'd changed absolutely crushed me. Then I discovered the Shadow Broker DLC and immediately ran through it. Probably the hardest scene for me was after defeating the Shadow Broker, and Liara chooses to take over... I felt utterly defeated. Being able to continue the romance afterward, and seeing her picture on the desk whenever I walked by certainly raised my spirits quite a bit.

Of course, the look Ash gave me when she found out who I was working for on Horizon... totally heart-wrenching.

In ME.... choosing between Ashley and Liara for romance when they demand Shep chooses one and also choosing which crew member to sacrifice.

ME2....Miranda trying to hold back the tears after meeting her sis and Tali before starting her misson yells at Admirals shes looking for her father!! Also when Joker is left alone on the ship and Miranda yelling at him for his actions!

Romance scenes were very touching although I liked Thane and Jack as the best and would have liked Liaras romance better if it was more like in the first game but still great all the same!

Personally I find the ending of ME1 the best. You've finished the game, the music starts and the credits roll. All I could do the first time was simply stare at the credits thinking "that was awesome!". It's not many times that when I finish a game it makes me feel that way. It's the entire feeling and setting of the game, that great eighties sci-fi vibe that ME2 lacked. Even now, when I here that song by Faunts, I think of the game and want to experience is all over again.

ME1: Becoming a Spectre, The Virmire Decision (and talking to the crew afterwards while the piano music plays), and the the ending. When I play colonials... the Talithia mission tugs on my emotions too.

ME2: Running into the Virmire Survivor on Horizon always leaves me a little sad. Seeing Wrex, that always gives me a good feeling. Mordin's loyalty; I found the music playing quite chilling at times...

ME1:

Virmire - I always go in knowing who I'm going to save, but I always hesitate when it comes to the decision.

Saving The Destiny Ascension - That was an awesome cutscene, to say the least.

The Ending - First time through I was literally in tears. I actually believed Shepard was dead, and then Kaidan does his sad little head turn... Then Shepard comes out from under the rubble. Best video game ending yet, for me.

ME2:

The Opening - Seeing the Normandy destroyed was terrible enough, but now I have to watch Shepard die? If this wasn't the very start of the game I'd have been screaming no at the screen.

Normandy Crash Site - Reading Pressley's journal was pretty moving.

Mordin & The Genophage - Why do the Paragon options have to be so harsh on him? Most empathy I've felt for a fictional character in a long time.

Horizon - My Shep had played the first half of the game desperately looking for Kaidan, so when that hit... I was unprepared, to say the least.

'Photo Scene' Before The Suicide Mission - It may have been simple, but it evoked more emotion than any of the other romance scenes in ME2.

Destroying The Collector Ship - Yeah, that just felt awesome.

Suicide Mission (First Attempt) - I failed. Not drastically, but Legion, Samara and the crew died. The first was bad, the second was sad, and the last... Well, I thought I'd got there in time, so watching that liquidation was pretty devastating.

There was a few moments:

-Thane meeting his son

-decision on Virmire

-reunion with Wrex/Liara/Tali/Garrus/Joker in ME2

-when my Shep become a Spectre

-loosing my Normandy and my crew at the ME2 begining

but the most memorable for me was battle over Citadel, when Normandy lead to fight against Reaper..I was really proud about my ship, my crew and Alliance..I can watch this scene for hours on end

Main one that got me during ME2 itself was meeting Wrex again, because he's so happy. It was awesome, no one else was just glad to see Shepard again; even Ashley was calling me a traitor within a minute of calling me a god.

But the one that really sticks is talking with Liara at the end on LOTSB. I had intentionally lost a few in the SM to make it more realistic, and I feel like the change in the conversation with Liara made it worth it. My Shepard said he had no idea how to go about fighting the Reapers (which was nice in itself, shows that Shepard has doubts), and Liara was talking about how he'd be fine, he'd get the job done- then she remembered that he'd lost people. Then Shep got this solemn look in his eyes, and asked how many more would have to die.

I dunno, maybe it's something I've seen a hundred times before in movies, books, etc. but since Shepard is usually such a blank slate for the player to impose their own ideas on, it was striking to see some real emotion from him.

Both of mine came from the first Mass Effect. Leaving Kaiden to die on Virmire was terrible, it took me like 10 minutes to actually decide. The second and worse of the two was losing Wrex. I really didn't see it coming. I'm trying to talk him down and then BAM! Ashley puts one in his back and then like three in his head when he's on the ground. If I had had the option to kill her just then I would have. Instead, I just stood on the beach for a while and contemplated everything that just happened.

ME1: Spectre Induction. The music and Spectre Induction Speech by the Councilors were awe-inspiring.

ME2: Both Renegade and Paragon Speeches in Tali's Loyalty. Defending a friend with such fire was good to see.

Amen to that! Best end to any game i've ever played. Pure, distilled, awesome.

Finding David in Overlord, Virmire, end of ME1, beginning and end of ME2, speeches in Tali's mission, doing all the dialog then letting Garrus take the shot at Sidonis, spectre induction.
Oh, and Pressly's death. He was a legendary XO :crying:
Lots more that I can't think of on the spot.

ME: After you defeat Sovereign and you see all this wreckage and your two injured squadmates but with no Shepard and great music plays. Very good scene.

ME2: It's a tie between finding David, meeting Wrex again and the cabin scene with Liara in LotSB, can't choose :(

Hey... Any Bioware guys care to tell us what parts of the game hit home the hardest for them? Would love to know.

(Not that I expect they'll actually see this post)

ME1: Battle of the Citadel - When Alliance fleets arrives to save the Destiny Acension.

ME2: Negotiating Contract for Shiala in Illium - Maybe its just me but this makes me cry for some reasons.  I find it so sad that poor Asari lost her mate & both children.  Grief particularly from losing your very own children can be so devstating to a person's psyche.

Tali, my one true love, died on the suicide mission. I just couldn't lie and side with her in her loyalty mission. Now I'll never be able to make it up to her.

ME1 - a Twofer really though they are very similar. Choosing to save Ashley on Virmire and then watching Kaidan relentlessly keep the geth back to guard the nuke, smiling as he sees the Normandy escape to safety. Add in the tolling of the bells and its easily a very powerful moment in gaming. The other was seeing the Council and Udina back stab us so soon after Kaidan sacrificed himself.

That aside... seeing Shepard climb out of the wreckage of the Battle of the Citadel - alive. That made me do a fist pump.

ME2 - man where do I begin? Three stick out most: 1) Mordin's loyalty mission and how he wrestled with his own morality when coming face to face with the real victims of the genophage - the krogan female 2) Miranda asking for Shepard to promise that he'll come back alive 3) Tali's father and her entire loyalty mission really.

Finally the entire Suicide Mission - especially the End Run with the escape and final confrontation with TIM followed by Shepard looking out into the galaxy knowing that the real battle had yet to begin.

Crazy epicness.
