There are so many but the stand out moments for me are -

ME1 - Vigil, it's just so sad, and the music really works at that point. So much story revealed/brought together here.

ME2 - The start of the suicide mission - I was so emotionally hyped - stunning.

Most Emotional Moment - "I Remember Me".

I had played several playthroughs with my chosen background and switched things up to see a few things I'd missed. When I played this mission I found myself choking up, and AMAZED that I was doing so. (Well done, Bioware!)

I remember post Virmire, after the misson walking to the spot the squadmate that sacrifed themself would be if they was alive. I found it very sad with the love music in the background aswell, looking at that empty space.

i still say overlord was a good emotional moment and the romance endiing of LoTSB was also a good one but to get off topic for a second or two, does anyone else wonder why shepard cannot lift his/her self back abord the nomandy i have watched many youtube videos that show shepard pulling grunt and other squadmates back with one arm so why cant shepard do the same on the normandy but thats all i have

I forgot about vigil That by far is one the best in ME1 and that is also my favorite score in the series

ME:

First playthrough when I realized my comforting answers to Ash after Eden Prime where actually reflecting in her body language. It had never been done in a game before and I was amazed by it.

"Skipper, before you go, I... No wait... If you wannna hear the rest, you'll just have to come back to me."

Vigil.

Ashley's smile and Wrex's nod when they see Shep survived in the end.

ME2

The Normandy reborn (mostly because of the music),

Seeing Ash again (before the conversation ruined the moment),

The End Run (cut scene after final boss, great music)

When I lost Tali on the suicide mission. My heart skipped a beat and I had to reload.

The first Normandy blowing up, that would be the most emotional. The most epic is at the end when the Normandy crash lands on the collector base and Shepard gives that speech with "Suicide mission" playing in the background.

Archangel revealing himself to be Garrus.

And that is why I didn't look at ME2 spoilers. Absolutely amazing!

Highest highs:

"It's the Alliance!" "Thank the goddess!"
Shepard leaps out of the rubble, Commander Awesome triumphant.
"I won't let fear compromise who I am."

Edit: damn, I can't believe I forgot Liara! Image IPB "Goddess...you were dead!" "I got better." She's back, baby!

Lowest lows:

Tali finding Rael on the Alarei. Damn.
Watching Lilith get turned into Reaper goo (never happened to my crew yet).
Virmire. The Sadistic Choice. ...yeah.

The ending of ME1 was one of the biggest, and my favourite moment in gaming.

The Alliance Navy coming to the rescue.

Seeing sadness in Wrex's face at the end, when he believed Shepard was dead, It's emotional no matter what squadmate it is, but Wrex being a Krogan warlord, a guy who dosent usually care much for other people showing sadness was touching.

Anderson as he looked at the wreckage, believing Shepard was dead too. And then thinking he see's movement, that little sign of hope in his and the two sqaudmates (Ash and Wrex for me) faces as they look for where it came from beyond the rubble, and then they finally see Shepard rise.

Shame the opening to ME2 ruins this moment, Shepard may aswell have died, this kinda makes me think the devs are just making it up as they go along.

I was late to the ME1 party. I didn't pick it up until a friend told me I'd like it if I tried it and handed me his copy. This was about 6 months prior to ME2's launch. I had no idea what I was getting into. I tried to stay away from spoilers for ME2 and did a fair job of it. The sections that I'll mention were those from my respective first playthroughs of each game.

ME1: "I Remember Me" mission was short, but effective. The whole Virmire situation - Wrex's meltdown and having to sacrifice one of the crew were key moments. Seeing Shep with that smirk walk out of the rubble after seeing Tali & Garrus' faces when they thought he was gone was a nice "Hell Yeah!" moment.

ME2: Garrus' recruitment when the chopper guns him down. I didn't know wtf was happening, I was very happy when he walked through the briefing room door. Tali's loyalty mission when you say she deserved better, and she says "I did, I got you." Awesome! Stickin' it to the man and blowin' that collector base straight to hell was also a "Hell Yeah" moment. One big moment that got me after the playthrough was realizing I COULD have saved all the non npc crewmembers had I not dicked around exploring after getting legion - that was a bad moment.

I felt like things were pretty frantic on Virmire, especially if you listen to the radio chatter (and respond by taking out the things it suggests). Pretty much from the start of that until you enter the base and clear out the labs, everything feels hectic. It slows down a bit when you get to the cells and then when you get to Saren's office, but then it picks back up again to the finale and final decision.

At least, it felt frantic to me. I always feel like there's intense pressure to get things done quickly on that mission, though I'm sure there's not clock ticking in the background.

ME1: I have to say that I'm a pretty big wimp when it comes to these things, but when on my first playthrough, I decided to sacrifice the council and...:

"It's the Alliance! We're taking heavy damage! Guardian Defences are overwhelmed...!" "..They closed the channel..." The way that Joker hesitates before turning off the comm, and the utter loss of hope on their faces, I really wanted to reload. Major lump in my throat.

The crazed Akuze guy; he confides in Shepard (and co.) his experience with Cerberus, all the horrible things. The hope that returned to his face when he found it was Shepard, and when Shepard realizes he survived Akuze. It's really sad if you let him get revenge on the doctor (he said "Please! We didn't have a choice!" right before he died, and I believed him...) Toombs experiences a small measure of peace before announcing "The vids say you're the sole survivor of what happened on Akuze. Who am I to argue?" Then he shoots himself. Powerful stuff.

Saren redeeming himself via suicide, he seems sincere, and the way he gives his regards to Shepard.. so sad :crying:
Of course, the obligatory Virmire. I had been spoiled before about the sacrifice, so I already determined who I was going to leave. Yet when the decision finally came up I literally spent 5 minutes battling with myself if I was really making the right choice. Then the knife twisted after I rescued Ashley at the towers:

Shepard: Don't worry Kaidan, we're coming back for you.
Kaidan: I think we both know that's not going to happen.

The way he just calmly and unapologeticly accepts his death...it's heartwrenching

ME2:
On Illium, the Salarian and his asari step-daughter, shopping for keepsakes so his asari family will remember him ong after he's passed away.

Miranda and Oriana finally meeting. You could really tell Miranda loved her, and how she displayed reluctance despite really wanting to.

I too, am an unfortunate victim of Miranda's advice. I lost Grunt (my baby!) to the swarm... :o<-- My face

The prisonor next to 'Benny' on Purgatory, he sounded so nice and innocent, He seemed so pitiful and reasonable.and I honestly would have considered the option of buying him had the option come up. Until he mentioned he killed 10 people. I immediately felt disgusted with myself for having considered it.

Reading Garrus' Shadow Broker profile. He needs credit for his deeds Damn it! Also Miranda's, the perfect woman...except she's unable to have children. And the way the built it up with the dating sites made it clear that this is something she desperately wants.

I'm a sap, and fangirl, so Garrus' 'love' scene. "I want something to go right...Just once...just..." They can't show much conventional affection physically (lest Garrus rip Shepard's face off or something), so it seems like a powerful moment when Shepard reaches to caress his face and they 'bump heads'.

Silly, but it broke my heart to have to tell the krogan on the citadel that there were no fish in the presidium.
