I don't get this Paragon vs. Renegade rivalry.

Most people have multiple chars, Paragon, Renegade and all the kind of mixes in between.

Who gives a flying watermelon.

You all realize that rachni queen is pretty effectively hidden from the rest of the galaxy (reapers shouldn't even know it still exists).
Also she has Shiala and her experience with indoctrination as well as no motiavtion to serve the reapers voluntarily.

We are feeding the troll here.

Excellent idea, I would love to see Shiala and the Rachni queen working together to help Shep against the reapers. They would make a formidable asset to the team.

Why would the Rachni voluntarily work with the humans and the other races in citadel space who nearly wiped out their entire species and captured and experimented on one of their queens in order to enslave her children for their own nefarious means?

Also what does Shiala have anything to do with the Rachni?

@ OP.

It would probably help your case (whatever it is) if you added a bit of background to the story. Like: "I was delivering pizza today to BioWare, and just happened to peek over Mac Walters' shoulder at his monitor..."

Saving the Rachni is a great plan. Why?

If they turn out to be good - another force to fight the reapers.

If they turn out to be evil - extra XP and combat! Extends gameplay :P

Honestly? That scenario is ONE of many scenarios I EXPECT from ME3, that our actions and decisions in the game will have serious consequences. If not, I will be bored. So bring it on Bioware! Thats why I love this game. And thats why I have several savegames, I want to see them all!

I agree.  Wouldn't surprise me if they were taken over, She said the last war had something to do with the sour notes in their minds.  But I'd still release her.

****CARE SPOILER > You meet Shiala in ME2 and she tells you that she is working for the Rachni queen. She delivers you a message from the queen where is stated that the queen is grateful and won't forget Shepard saving har species. Help to save the humanity (alongside the whole galaxy) seems like kinda adequate payback.<

Shepard, Shiala, Rachni queen.

Shepard: Hi, queen.

Rachni queen: xqitxqu...ipalqxkct..xxwerexx..z..x...trspss...w...t.vxzcwvztxvsz..v..szzzxs...cz.

Shiala: Our translators aren't programmed...

[interrupt]

Rachni queen [via dead Shiala]: Hi, Shepard.

This thread kinda doesn't make any sense. It doesn't even TRY to explain why the Rachni for some reason are Reaper slaves.

Plus, since the Rachni queen is one of the few character elements in the ME universe that knows about the reapers (not to mention a species that has already been indoctrinated and they share memories and "songs" remember?) wouldn't it make more sense that they would fall into the category of the geth and others who cant be indoctrinated? at least thats what would seem like a logical story progression more than "WATCH OUT THEY BE SLAVES PEW PEW THEM!"

lol there I have fed the nonsense thread now I feel unclean.

I hope the rachni turn on you. The alternative is too generic and more space bugs to kill is always a good thing.

At the risk of feeding the troll, I'd like to point out that you could still fight "feral" rachni after freeing or killing the queen. They were being experimented on by Cerberus in ME 1 and they obviously had some way of replicating them.

There's no reason that the dark song couldn't come again and indoctrinate the feral rachni, but I expect the queen, if you saved her, is reasonably safe.

Well it could be a possibility, would make the game more thrilling. More enemies to fight!
.

As Grunt said when Uvenk's ship flew over head, "Good, I want more"

Or when you talk to him, "Our Enemies are in trouble Shepard, and we better not run out of targets."

No shortage there if the Rachni want to fight again. Posted Image

Not worried, I killed the Rachni queen as I saw her as to much of a threat if let loose.

Oh I know this will happen, I don't have any proof, but I know so and you don't so HA!

OP, grow up.

On the subject, Rachni were indoctrinated to fight the Rachni Wars...which, I don't really know why if you had the collectors there.
And the Reapers DO know the Rachni are back, Benezia was there, Saren knew, Sovereign knew.

And everyone killed her..fun. I let her live except for my renegade playthrough. On my renegade whew..let's just say the galaxy was getting cleaned out. I killed everyone and every thing possible, I even fought Saren just to spite him.

Yeah! Sweet that  I saved her then. Perhaps I should save the base too as it could have similar consequences. But you know, this is just my speculations and i have no PROOF to back it up.

I am a Paragon in my playthroughs, but I always kill the Rachni, those bugs are just too disgusting to be let to live, plus they were already indoctrinated by the Reapers once and letting them live would probably cause trouble with the Krogans, so I think killing them off was the best course of action. But we will see in about a year if that's the way Bioware see things too...

I can't trust giant spacebugs. Don't regret it either once she starts growling at me.

Though I do wish it was brought up in ME2 instead of ignored.
