The Rachni are going to be around no matter what you did. Hell, they were still around in ME1 after you melted the queen. There is no way to guarantee their extinction.

At the risk of feeding the troll, I'd like to point out that you could still fight "feral" rachni after freeing or killing the queen. They were being experimented on by Cerberus in ME 1 and they obviously had some way of replicating them.

There's no reason that the dark song couldn't come again and indoctrinate the feral rachni, but I expect the queen, if you saved her, is reasonably safe.

Cerberus may have started more rachni farms some where. And maybe they lost controll over their dangerous experiments as usual. So yes, reaper controlled rachni (and Cerberus) is not impossible even if you killed the queen.

It's true that the Reapers "soured the songs of [their] mother's" but that does not mean that it definitely will happen again. however, I admit that it is a possibility--one that I was aware of when I released them. It is the same argument with reprogramming the geth or using the collector base. All of these choices are risks, all can help or hinder. That's part of the game.  Your choices have consequences (not necessarily the ones you intend).

If you saved the rachni Queen she sends an asari emissary to thank you in ME2, if you never played paragon in ME1 and you killed her you don’t get this. The statement from the emissary makes it clear that the rachni are likely to be more hospitable and open to negotiations with other races in the future.

So I’m not sure, if like your avatar, you are just a troll or this is supposed to be a proper discussion on the possible repercussions on saving the queen.

"I'm pissed off. And when I'm pissed off I shoot things. Find me more bugs to kill."-- Renegade Shepard during the listening post Alpha mission.

If you made the Rachni extinct by killing the Rachni Queen in ME1, then Renegade Shepard will not get any more "bugz to kill", thus causing Renegade Shepard to have a mental breakdown due to a lack of stress relief.

So a message to all renegades- save the Queen. If she keeps to her word you get a strong ally. If she betrays you you'll get to "Find more bugs to kill" (thus fulfilling Renegade Shep's sadistic urges!).

I'm sure that my Renegade Shepard can settle for batarians now that the rachni are gone.

Its a single player game, so nothing that anyone on these forums has done in any of their games has any impact on what you will experience.

If you need to vent your inner rage at yourself for something that you have done, I suggest seeing a therapist, and not trolling on the forums.

That's the problem with the Renegade choices. The Galaxy never learns how much of mess it's been saved from.

But yeah, it kinda bugged me how much everyone is like Ooooh Paragon Shep I love you, your a hero, in the game. When the general reaction for Renegades is "Meh. So your that guy."

What he thought is irreverent. You thought it was a troll, and I corrected you. No need to be inimical.
