Now for a soldier, no SG beats a GPS shotgun especially with AR and fully charged for destroying everything.

Ähem, ... Mattock, Viper, Claymore+Adrenaline Rush+Incinerate/Disruptor Ammo+Headshot made easy in AR (+Point-Blank shot in case for the Claymore due to vastly increased speed during AR)

Fully charged GPS does a base damage of 556 per Wiki.
300M Claymore base damage does 400 per Wiki.

So fully charged GPS with AR and ammo powers will toast any other SHUTGUN currently in the game, period, exclamation point.

No cute pictures needed.

The only bonus you get with the 300M is .25 more damage modifier to Armor, but it also gives up .25 damage modifier to shields and barriers.  Go play a soldier with GPS get close in AR and let loose a fully charged round and watch the carnage.

This dude is right.  Soldier with gps = two charged shots on AR Shadow Broker Shields gone, two widow shots with tungsten under AR armor gone.  The gps strips shields and barriers also from range.  Sorry no cool sound effects.

You should however consider the increased pellet number the Claymore has, which means it is much more likely to transfer damagemultipliers onto the next layer, thus dealing more damage or sideeffects than the three pellet GPS.

Also, in the end, with the soldier Adrenaline Rush, those little 146 damage points become pretty much obsolete, making the decision more or less cosmetic as anything under AR is already just short of Overkill.

Only one class relies most on shotty's, VG. Talk about soldiers using a shotty when the revenant or mantis are available? Or take it a step further with the mattock or widowmaker? But that's the soldier and they don't need shotty as much as VG. If you want to talk shottys with the VG look on their thread (and if you're curious the m-22 beats out the m-300 on 90% of the enemies a VG faces).

As for the scimitar versus m-22? Anything short of insanity or hardcore and you could run through the game and take down harbinger with a katana. Anything higher and the m-22 works just as fine as the m-300 and if not (as is the case) then I hope you specced AR because the mattock kicks both their asses at range.

Here's a good look at the four different shottys from sino - very well done and settled a lot of arguments.

Also the wiki page for shotguns.
