I believe Bio Ware had her sign a contract for both ME2 and ME3 from the begining. She's the voice and face of Miranda plus she's a major chracacter. I would think Bio Ware would take precautions to ensure she'll be in the finale. Plus with the possibility that Yvonne could play Miranda if she were to appear in the Mass Effect movie, I don't think Yvonne will miss out on that Paycheck.

Billy Dee Williams had a contract to play Two-Face if they used him in a Batman movie, and Tommy Lee Jones got that one.  Terrence Howard had a contract for Iron Man 2, and Don Cheadle got that.  These contracts are never as binding as they seem...

Bit weird if she is not in ME3 after they put out so much for her ti be in ME2 heck they even put her face in the game.

That said she only said she is not allowed to say if she is or is not. It's common for staff including VA's to not be allowed to discuss the games they have worked on until the company decides they are allowed.

Yvonne said that she really liked voice acting and beside filming Chuck and the odd movie here and there I'm sure she and BW will easily come to a scheduling agreement so that shouldn't be an issue. As it is we're still a year off and BW didn't announce the VA's for ME2 (other than Hale and Meer who were a given) until two months before launch.

That said there's dozens of reasons why Miranda should be in ME3 and only one why she shouldn't be: if she died in a player's playthrough which can be surprisingly difficult unless you don't do her loyalty mission - and regardless how you feel about Miranda's character who the hell wants to see a young woman get kidnapped?

quote for the truth.

It's just a normal "can't say or I breach my contract."

Films, video games, etc all require NDAs of their cast members and crew that prohibits them from sharing or discussing information apart from 'released' info (i.e. official announcements already announced by the publisher).

Most companies have very strict NDAs. Chris, Casey, all the devs and members of Bioware are prohibited by NDAs (most likely, or something similar) from discussion unreleased information. This is one reason why Chris never tells you release dates and voice actors cannot confirm or deny that they are in the product.

TL;DR: The very fact that she says she cannot tell you if she's in it or not gives you your answer: she's in it.

Or at least tell us she's interested but I agree with DL, the ME2 female lead will definitely play a part in ME3.

Only Shepard will have a speaking part all the rest are doing mime or charades in Mass Effect 3.

Miranda holding up 5 fingers.
Shepard: "Okay five words, first word?"
Miranda pointing to her eye
Shepard: "I...okay 2nd word".
Miranda: Hand scurries across desk surface, then makes a W with her fingers.
Shepard: "Spider! No....Ant! Yes...W....ant! I want"
Miranda: Holding up two fingers.
Shepard: "Easy! Too! I want too....
Miranda: Pretends to be a flying inspect then gets down on all fours and roots around with her nose.
Shepard: Fly? Bee? Yes B! hmmmm nug? aardvark....pig? ...pigs voice? oink? "I want to boink?"
Miranda: Points at Shepard.
Shepard: Me? oh you? "I want to boink you!"

Ok, first of all that was genius.
Second, she would clearly be (as others have said) under NDA and unable to comment.

I am clearly under the impression that she loses her voice somehow at the start of ME3 and has to use a voice modulator that sounds exactly like EDI.

If she wasn't ... she wouldn't " not be allowed to say", rofl. "Oh noes, I couldn't possibly talk about something that I have nothing to do with at all, they might, um, email me and say they wished I was in it!"

If she ain't saying it means she's on a contract, which means she's in. If she wasn't ,she wouldn't be on a contract and could say whatever she wanted. Understood?

of course, she will do it for ME 3. miranda is still main character since ME 2. I think she is great. you know, miranda is my favorite woman in citadel.

Miranda: "I'll be by the next time things are quiet..."

Shepard: "Hmmm..."

15 minutes later

Joker: "Commander! Earth is under attack from the reapers!"

Shepard: "Can't you see I'm busy! Keep us in stealth mode at all costs! Keep things QUIET!"

I agree that Yvonne simply can't discuss it right now. It'd be weird if BioWare didn't have her (and the other VAs) under contract for ME2 & ME3 to begin with...otherwise it was pretty dumb to use her likeness to start. Besides, Miranda is too vital to the story to mess with her VA without changing appearance. Also, I got the feeling that the ME2 team would be sticking together until death separates them. Therefore, the VAs and likenesses are just as important as the characters. There's always the big fat paycheck to think about too...

NDAs exist for a reason. She can't speak on it, PERIOD. Nothing really to discuss.

I can't believe this thread has 3 pages of discussion, when the topic was virtually answered in itself.

What aren't you understanding?

The only thing that concerns me is in the latest video about the ME3 voice cast, Yvonne is conspicously not in there, even though Martin Sheen and other prominent actors are.  I suppose it could mean she's still in negotiations, but I just think it's wierd that they would release that video without her in it.

She was announced in the cast, even though she wasn't in the trailer.
