Just bring back the ME 1 scenes and EVERYONE will be happy.

Fox News won't.

LOL.

Despite Fox being my channel of choice, even I couldn't figure out a way to defend them. It was awful, awful journalism.

But they learned their lesson and so did everyone else. Their deal was that there were sex scenes in a rated T game. Which was funny because the rating hadn't come out yet and ultimately, it was rated M. Posted Image

That being said, lots of games have come out with full blown nudity (like that PS3 game I forgot the name of) and we haven't heard a peep.

God of War?

But yeah, my whole thing regarding that , when Jack Thompson of all people call you out on having a baseless argument, then there must be a problem.

I think the main ing that I want is intimacy, it's not about seeing Miranda's boobs, it's about feeling that there is real love between Shepard and his LI.

to be honest, the most "satisfying" sex scene in the entirety of the the MA saga so far, to me, has been the one-off with Jack. Why? Because it wasn't forced. It was a one time liaison, and never pretended to be anything else... where as the others felt like that, but were presented as something more. It felt artificial.

Then again, I kind of see Shepard as futuristic Marshall Dillon. He may fall in love, but he'll never allow that to tie him down.

What's happening is - at least with the hardcore fanbase - is we're seeing mass effect finally transcend to the point where the squadmates aren't just the henchmen you order around to kill things. With the franchise's advance cinema programming we're seeing mass effect now as one of our favorite movies - like Empire Strikes Back. Who didn't like how Han and Leia interacted and eventually hooked up? Yes SW is at heart an action movie franchise but the passion and romance was something a LOT of people picked up on. The same applies to mass effect and is just another reason why it's so far ahead of the rest of the pack.

I do think they could have made the scenes more interesting...Jack's tattoo's and stuff could have made for a more personal conversation during the romance scene (if anyone remembers those...."pinup" model shots someone recently did of the me2 girls, there was one of jack not wearing pants that was actually....kind of beautiful in a way, if only because of the "honesty" elements that come along with the whole...fullbody tattoo thing and being (mostly) naked....)

the ME1 scene had the foreplay we got in me2...but it also had 2 other elements to it. A "during" scene (obv the one with the nakedness and the sex itself) and a post-scene, with some added dialogue to sort of "cap" the experience. I think people's relative dissatisfaction with the scenes compared to the first one are the lack of the latter 2 elements. LotSB remedied this abit with having a "pre" and "post" (no "during" though) which added an extra layer to the relationship..

it was also kind of a bummer in 2 that you wait until the final mission to consummate. In ME1 it made sense that you waited until the last minute because the entire story was about "finding the threat before it's too late", but in 2 you're litterally taking as long as possible to prepare, in me2's case it would have ended up making more sense for (most) of the romance scenes to take place after the final conversation, rather than at the end of the game. (Hell, most of them don't even MENTION the impending threat of death....only thane and to a lesser extent jack and i guess maybe jacob really play off of that.)

The key words there are "I kind of see"... those are significant.

My point stands, however, regarding the 'relationships'. It's a brief courtship that ends with sex. We see nothing of the relationship, just the flirting and the sex. Dragon Age's sex was handled somewhat less maturely (being that it looked like a censored version of late night Cinemax programming), but the actual relationship at least got a nod.

^ Agreed.

After saving the galaxy, you better believe my Shep and Miranda are taking a LONG leave of absence to the Bahamas. Or, you know, the equivalent of the Bahamas on some other planet.

I liked the sex scene in ME2 better than in ME1. Another scene in ME3 is absolutely mandatory, with the companion one has chosen (M1 lover or ME2 lover). I assume asking for something like in Heavy Rain would be too much?

How about not having sex in ME3? How about some well written and dubbed dialogues instead? Okay, that would probably not work...

edit: oh, and some good music on the background Posted Image

THIS. God forbid they portray a realistic relationship instead of a quick fling ! If they are too scared to include the PG rated ME1 style scenes, perhaps they should look into another option and not the pants on hugging of ME2.

Shepard is not one to be tied down in a "realistic" relationship. He has things to kill and planets to save. I still want that option.

I want the ME sex scenes back, or that kind. The sex scenes in ME 2 just seems wrong to me. These are people who might as well die, that makes people more passionate, something i see more in the ME sex scenes than the ME 2 sex scenes.

I personally liked the ME2 scenes better, they were more involved in the relationship development rather then just showing the sex, it proves that the characters in ME2 are more developed then the typical "go do this for me" from the first ME. When the scenes come in ME3, I hope they are much like the scenes from ME2

I understand what you are on about the sex scenes in ME1 does show more than ME2 but i think it does show more emotion in ME2 simply because you can see more emotion in them. Also feels more like a movie doing that not many big movies show much nudity (apart from R rated movies of course). however if they did atleast undo the zips down below it would be more acceptable lol

The romance scene in ME2 were just plain awful. The DA:O scenes were bad as well, but at least the act was depicted (despite the ridiculous underpants wearing thing). I hope they do something better with ME3 as well. So far I would have to agree with the OP that the ME1 sex scenes are the best bioware has done to date. I would prefer better for ME3, but as good as ME1 would be better than the farce the scenes in ME2 were.

I find it weird that it's okay to curse, show guts, and demon boobs, but it's wrong to show a side boob of a normal looking woman.

So do I but that's the society we live in. Go to a DVD store. Look at what is on the big shelves in the front and what is in the dark corner at the back behind the curtain and the 'adults only" sign. Personally, I think it should be the other way around - the violent stuff should be in the hidden alcove where men go with hats low and collars turned up.
I agree with the comments about ME1. I thought the sex scenes were tasteful and classy.

I like how there's no fuss that you are encouraged to rack up kills for gamer points in both games, but SEX OHHHHH NOOO.

Like, sure, stab people in the back, wipe out entire species, be a total jerk. But don't show any side boob for the love of Baby Jesus.

I liked ME1 romance scene it was tastefully done and skipable I even had a f/f with liara and watched it thinking I’m gonna hate this but the way the did it was longer then f/m but I wasn’t offended by it was a borderline scene but not the worse thing in the world so if they could pull that off they could do it in 3 for both sheps I think if you’re mshep you should get a little longer scene with your LI. I hated the black out 2 I was expecting it to go all fable it was a black screen but the characters involved would scream, laugh, and make funny jokes like a male might go, “ Oh I wasn’t expecting that!” it would change dialogue too and it would be random but nothing. I think they should up 3’s rating to M and actually do the 1 style and give it alittle more length and variety I liked how in 2 you where always stuck in sheps cabin with faceplaming pre romance dialogue it was ok some was cute others horrible but back to 1 with better preluv dialogue.

msn also ran wild with the controversy as I recall that’s where I saw it but its ok to have god of war where the girls you bang are shirtless right off? Also I can only guess why they did black out in 2 because the animators didn’t want to animate Garrus humping fshep into the bed or figure out exactly how they looked joined at the hip but they should try in 3 even if its creative angles for harder to render alien loves like Garrus and for crying out loud show some skin on Tali not even a hint!

Average Mass Effect player's age is not bigger than 15.

Which is funny because they're rated M for 17+.  Failure of parents to heed the warnings when buying stuff for their kids should not result in censored content for those of us who are of age and bought the game thinking they'd get an actual M-rated experience.
.

^ This the fox/msn report was made to scare parents from caving in when their underage kid wanted the game not to scare away adults who buy it on their own to play themselves so enough about the report already if parents buy their bratty 9 year old an M rated game and don't play it before letting their kid then they've got no one to blame or sue for corruption other then themselves. Adults buy M games to play M games not to play T and with ME2 we got a T.  Everyone should name at lest 2 shows that run on normal TV that have more fun times then 2 had then maybe BW will get the point.
