Also: I am disappointed in the lack of friendly fire to be sure. Am I remembering correctly that FF is off for all difficulties except Nightmare? THat is most unfortunate if true. FF makes encounters much more dynamic, interesting, and challenging.

Agreed, but, that's why I'll play the game only on Nightmare.

And there it is, proof that DA2 won't be a hack n slash. Maybe now there won't be any more threads about it.

Looks amazing, btw.

Something I asked for on my Christmas list, yay!

I'm loving pause / play and no more shuffle!  <3

Good video. Very descriptive. My only qualm is the animation looked clunky, and Hawke's rogue vanishing act reminded me of "Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II" visually. :P Although I suppose that is little different from Origins's stealth mode. Too much smoke, maybe? I liked that the combat is still tactical though. I also enjoyed seeing the glyph line making a comeback and shiny new spell effects. ;)

Hopefully there's still time for that to get polished up

Impressed by the combat, for sure. It looks much more exciting and fluid than Origins ever was.

But the visuals look really jaggy (downloded the 720p version) and the animations are still jerky in spots. Varric just looked silly running around.

Rather enjoyed that video. The animations seemed a bit jerky, but I'll chalk that up to the frame rate of the video as opposed to the game itself. Looking forward to this even more now.

Isn't Fenris the son of Loki in Norse Mythology? It's something similar to that at least.

f*** haters... this looks AWESOME.

Lol, did hawke spin kick the flask at the enemies? I don't know if thats stupid or awesome? I guess the two don't need to be exclusive.

This vid alleviates any gameplay concerns I might have had, but it didn't really help with my concerns about the graphics. It appears to be playing on the lowest setting.

this is what we've been waiting for!!

some real actual gameplay!!!

and we got to see our first glimpse of mage Lady Hawke!! It seems for mage Hawke, the default weapon of choice is the bladed staff sword.

Oh, and we finally learn more about MEG, or should I say, Fenris. It would appear he's a warrior. I wonder if he will be a LI for Lady Hawke...........

Bioware, I was among the many who said "Lol Dragon Mass Dynasty Effect Warriors of Age 2" and I am so unbelieveably ****ing happy that this video has rendered that nonsense gone.

THANK YOU FOR FINALLY POSTING SOME PC GAMEPLAY.

They should have animated in CGI-Hawke style fireballs into Mike's hands when he was doing his "you can play like this or this" thing. That'd have made the video even more awesome. And it was pretty awesome, anyway.

And Rogue Hawke looks like a pirate!!! :o

I guess he's gonna have to be Champ. Jack Hawke.

Mr Laidlaw, THANK YOU for this video. This was just what I wanted to see, and it really put a lot of my fears to rest. Both gameplay variants looked awesome in their own way, and I'm really happy to finally see some PC gameplay :)

However, I absolutely dislike the interface. Maybe DA's was a bit too cluttered, but all the scrolls and detailed pictures gave a very cool fantasy vibe, whereas the new one just screams 'You're not in this world, you're just clicking shiny buttons in a videogame!' to me. Which is true, of course, but not exactly immersive :P

These are, of course, nitpicks that will impact the enjoyment only in a very limited way. The overall impression I got from this video was awesome.

So did we just see the starting gear for all the classes? If so, Mage Hawk will in fact be wearing the Epic Hawk gear afterall.

Awesome! I wonder how difficult the battles are going to be with players being able to blend both methods.

Spoiler for me: Aveline is a warrior! :o So far I've only been hearing her name. Now I know 3 companions' names. Maybe I'd better stop visiting the forums...

Judging by what we know of Aveline it'll be closer to Alistair than Sten when it comes to "companion spoilers." In that it doesn't seem to be a choice, much less a choice you can miss, and therefore spoilers as to her presence aren't that big a deal.

You're right I forgot about that. I'm not good at remembering things I learned in school.

And speaking of Fenris, The new art style isn't as drastic a change for elves as it seemed from the concept art.
