They should have animated in CGI-Hawke style fireballs into Mike's hands when he was doing his "you can play like this or this" thing. That'd have made the video even more awesome. And it was pretty awesome, anyway.

Why would they need to do that? Mr. Laidlaw is a High Enchanter, if he wanted the fireball effect, he would've just summoned flames from the prim.....Oh wait....you'll aren't supposed to know that....

And Rogue Hawke looks like a pirate!!!

More like an acrobat, his fighting style reminds me more of the Prince's from POP: SOT & Two Thrones.

As for Mr. Fenrir, he sounds interesting, but his background concerns me. I mean fusing lrium to an elf and turning him into a living weapon? Sure that'll never bite you in the rear.

That's, uh, quite the dramatic lighting you have there, Mike.

Ooooooooh looks fun! B-ware's marketing team is being especially nice to us this month, it seems.

Mike Laidlaw has Power Word: Cut which can simply remove his enemies from the game. Fireballs are crude and simple weapons in comparison.

Looks good, but was that the extent of the "new tactical camera"? that's as far out as it goes? Or did we not get to see the new camera in this video?

Judging by what we know of Aveline it'll be closer to Alistair than Sten when it comes to "companion spoilers." In that it doesn't seem to be a choice, much less a choice you can miss, and therefore spoilers as to her presence aren't that big a deal.

Perhaps. But if I've been seeing enough spoilers to know how much has been revealed about Aveline compared to the others, I've already been exposed to too much. Really trying to be strict with myself this time. So far I only know Hawke's background, Cassandra's face and class, Varric's face and class, and Aveline's class. I've seen a mage around but don't know her name. d:

looks good and fun and all, but i dont really enjoy alot of the unnecessary movement, such as instead of just throwing the flask, Hawke through it up and gave it a good ol kung fu kick to its destination, more rediculous than cool.

If you are worried about spoilers, stop visiting the forums or reading media about the game.

Rogue hawke's constant flipping and jumping looks silly.

Actual gameplay seems similar to DA:O, which is good.

I agree that the flipping and jumping looks silly, but the actual gameplay looks very similar to Origins. That makes me happy!

I'm referring to his outfit. Hence "looks like", rather than "fights like". :P

Obvious console porting is obvious.

Crazy pop-ups, horrible graphics, small maps.

I'm curious how those flask abilities work. Is that a rogue talent, or are flasks something only rogues can use now, hence their specific stylized animations?

Obvious trolling is obvious.

I encourage everyone to ignore and continue on with actual discussion of the trailer and the recently revealed information.

Gameplay looks pretty good there. I'm quite impressed. Is it going to be the same on Xbox360?

Rogue Hawke's hip jiggle amuses me.

And is the reason I'm using a warrior Hawke.

I might just be crazy, but I swear the animations look a lot smoother than they did in the leaked footage.
Still very fast, but less jerky

Well... -sigh- That's it, then.

There's just no way I could play through a game having to look at all those ridiculous kung-fu movements. Jumping, flipping, teleporting, kicking a bottle ... it looks like a Bruce Lee movie from the seventies.

Have fun with it, all. It is not for me.

Varrick´s running animation needs work, and didn´t like the skill and character icons. It also seems to confirm a minor problem I expected: doing a really badass looking attack on a mook and doing about 1/5 damage kinds of takes away from it.

About spells, is the AoE going to remain only a circle?

Wait so I'm wrong? The textures are high res and the FOV big, as any PC game should?

Give me a break. Reeks of console porting.

Some of the jumping around does look a little silly (I blame rogues), but other than that everything looked great to me. I like Aveline's little sword twirls, and Varric's area effect archery ability reminds me of the air-bursting over-watch artillery from Company of Heroes. The "teleporting" thing looks more like they disappear in a puff of smoke now which is nice.

I think the only thing I actually don't like is the ground markers for AoE attacks. Big yellow circles? I liked the artsy things from DA:O more but oh well.

That was my favourite part.
