I have him equipped with Spellward and the Knight Commander's Plate so he can be my anti-mage. Are there Knight Commander's boots and gloves so I can get the matching set bonus, and if not what are some good alternative gloves and boots?
I

In the game resources Templar Boots and Gloves are exist, every npc templar have those, none of them are obtainable however, nor will they scale with the character if you add them with toolset, and they will not give a set bonus with the Templar or Knight commander plate. The Heavy Plate Gloves share the model with the Templar Gloves, so it will look good. I for the one usually give Alistair "Cailan's Armor Set" it worked well for him so far.

If you want to go anti-mage tank, I'd reccomend:
Starfang (Grandmaster Paralyze Rune, Grandmaster Dweomer Rune, Master Dweomer Rune)
Fadewall
Helm of Honnleath
Knight Commander's Plate
Ancient Elven Gloves
Boots of Diligence
Andruil's Blessing
The Spellward
Key to the City
Lifegiver
It'll give you 100% spell resist which means that your mages can fire fireballs straight on top of you and you won't feel a thing.

And whats the point of that? Before doing such things people should rather play on easy if they didnt want that enemies hurt them at least sometimes...

I just give him the drakescale armour & Use grandmaster runes with his weapon, to get max damage from it. Amulets and rings - usually go for resistence to, types.

I hope you meant dragonscale armour there. Which weapon has rune slots in it?

I give him Warden commander armor usually, everything else just depends.

I always put Al in Callen's armor with the elite redcliffe shield and Merric's blade.

Juggernaut Plate
Duncan Sword (DragonBone) (Grandmaster Dweomer Cesar) (Master Dweomer Wonders of Thedas) (Expert Dweomer Circle Tower Quartermaster)
Greagoir's Shield (**Stolen from Greagoir**)
Andruil's Blessing(Tower)
The Spellward( Camp x2)
Key to the City(Orzammar Codex's)
Ring of Ages(Wonders of Thedas)
That's my Alistar setup as a Mage killer most of the time I dont use him,
I prefer Dog/Shale/Morrigan and Me as a Archer Rogue

You can't go wrong with Knight Commander's Plate and The Spellward. 70% resistance to all types of spell damage right off the bat.

Juggernaut armor set is great, and if you are a templar you should do fine!
