Please don't put words in my mouth, that is not where I'm coming from at all. Believe me, I know that being unique and bisexual are not mutually exclusive, I have first hand experience of that (and am very fond of the person in question), it's just I don't find it very likely that Hawke would encounter 4 very unique individuals and all four of them would also be bisexual. I'm not trying to stereotype anyone here, I just think that's a HUGE coincidence.
I apologize. I already think the fact that they would be attracted to Hawke despite having different tastes in people (it is possible to romance them with the exact same character). To be...unlikely and ridculous. If say Fenris respected a woman with strength and I was playinga rather weak F!Hawke it would be odd for him to romance her.
The fact remains though that I probably
can.
Just like I can romance Alistair with a cruel blood mage or Zevran with a human supremist.
The game already has huge ridculous coincidences.
Maybe it's because at the end of the day to me
it's a game. It's primiarly for entertainment. Some people like certain standards of realism and some don't. I guess we just have different standards.
If I want "realistic" sexualities I want gay, bi, not attracted to certain race Hawkes, not attracted to certain personality Hawkes, the whole shebang.
I think their unique circumstances make it more likely that they'd all be single. I mean, Anders is possessed by a currupted fade spirit, Fenris is a walking lyrium potion and constantly on the run, Isabela is a pirate captain (not to mention very promiscuous), and Merrill is an exiled blood mage. None of these situations really foster a romantic relationship, and I doubt a real one will start with Hawke until there is some sort of resolution.
And most of them I see not wanting to start a romantic relationship. The fact that Hawke
can start one with them despite said circumstances just feels 'ugh" to me. I find the fact that they find time to fall in love with Hawke but no one else to be jarring. Anders I can understand but Fenris never faling in love? Meh.
And those unique circumstance if they do find time for love makes it far more likely that they wouldn't care what gender it came with.
As for all of them being attracted to the same person being unlikely, that doesn't really hold water since Hawke is many, many different people depending on how he or she is played and customized. If you never flirt with Anders, he probably won't flirt back. Probably the most attractive thing about a person (though obviously this MUST be combined with other attractors) is knowing that they have non-platonic feelings for you. I don't think Anders is going to sit in a corner and pine if Hawke is actively pursuing Fenris and paying Anders very little attention.
I edited. And once again I point you to DAO where you could romance Zevran or Alistair despite doing things that highly disagreed with and would probably find you unattractive for doing. They
can be attracted to the same Hawke.
And while I doubt they would pine (I would hope not) it is possible to (judging from BW's track record) to romance both of them up to a point. With the exact same PC.
That said you probablydidn't see my edit where I dropped the arguement so I'll just say this: Fenris being romanceable by both genders isn't that much of a stretch seeing as we know practically nothing about the man's love life.
Edit: My bad for the giant posts. But this is related to Fenris.
Frankly I think Fenris is believable as a s/s romance option
because his history and the fact that we know so little about it.
