I think its after the crew meets him. He Falcon punches someone through the chest when he appears for the first time. Must be after he takes the magisters mansion.

It doesnt matter to me if he ends up a jerk or not. Was not much of a fan from the beginning. If he isnt useful in a fight i wont keep him.

I bet he goes digging through the magister's stuff right after they kill him (or discover he's not at the mansion, or whatever happens). He finds the magister's prized Avalia Pamunalis, vintage 9:27 in the wine cellar and takes a celebratory swig.
