Willpower check: Roll = 1

EPIC FAIL!

*Comes back*

B-but Bristae Hawke is supposed to be so sweet... how can anyone hate her and want to make her tranquil?

This is even more annoying.

Fenris:
- he hates mages
- he will probably side with the templars

Anders:
- he hates templars
- he will side with the mages

I want them both in my team. The horror!
Though no Anders when I'm a mage..

I have decided, first playthrough mage, second playthrough is going to be rogue.
Damn, my entire plan changed just by reading one line of text. I have no life. x.x'

(I edited so that there's a spoiler warning!)

**SPOILERY COMMENT BELOW:**

If that's true about Fenris and mages than woooo! It's exactly what I wanted. Here come the Mage-Hawke/Fenris fights!

That makes me wonder if the introduction scene really was Fenris being manipulative, considering they were playing as Mage-Hawke in that scene and he was being so polite. Fenris has no qualms about using a mage as a bait for a trap. ^_^

**SPOILERY COMMENT ABOVE**

(The BSN seriously needs spoiler tags)

I support mage hating Fenris.

*plans all mage plus Fenris party*

Of course, I am sure you will be able to convince him otherwise with your sparkling personality and the contents of your pants, wish fulfillment is wish fulfilly.. Rivalmance ahoy.

I'm not a fan of anders anyway, but I don't support Templars, so i'm hoping that Fenris can be persuaded somehow......

Doooooohohohohohoho~ :D

You love this, don't you?  <_<
Wait, I do too.  *reads because Rina has no willpower.*  Ooooo fast and furious eh????  You don't say...<3

Everything I hear about this game sounds so awesome.

But, guys, can we please post the spoilers as links off-thread?  And any posts related to them should have a warning, so people who can't stand to be spoiled can still come in here with fair warning.  Otherwise we may soon have people (including myself) abandoning this thread.  I don't really want to know the whole game before I play it.  That was me and Origins.

Yeah, sorry about my first post on the previous page.
I handled it better in the second one (I hope).

Since I'm going to check (most of) the spoiler threads, I can just make a comment here about a Fenris spoiler and pm it to the ones who are interested.

This one was just so much fun (I'm totally hyped atm), that i couldn't resist posting it. ^^'

Because as far as I can tell, to everyone in Thedas that isn't a mage they are viewed as downright terrifying and horrible to the extent that they lock them up and dedicate an entire purpose-trained police force to ensuring they are separated from society at a cost to their personal freedom.  And that's not including elves who were tortured and modified into something alien at the whims of mages.

Also - this is just a general point - why do people, not MRC as I didn't get quite that impression from her post - want these romances to be easy or painless?  You know its gonna work out anyway since it's a game, why not enjoy the drama the tension of this conflict creates?

My level of interest in pursuing a Fenris romance specifically with a mage character has dramatically increased.

Huh. Seems like Fenris might be a douche after all.

Nyaa, spoiler warning not really working.

Anyway, skip this post if you don't want spoilers. It's from a xbox-review (and also in another thread), but it's about Fenris.

Companions are the bulk of the game's emotional heft, and has a higher emphasis on relations.

Your companions are influenced by your affiliation with certain or different factions and this can cause rifts, rivalry, friendship, and numerous other aspects throughout the game which are noticeable.

(Spoiler) --

"For instance, the broody former-slave elf Fenris has a hardcore stance against magic users, thinking that they should all be made "tranquil".

Having certain or opposing companions in your party will cause friction, especially during a crucial decision point or quest, which you may feel for the sake of relations to go with one of your companions thoughts, ESPECIALLY in a romantic situation, less the chance of more friction.

The qunari Arishok is an imposing figure; haunting your rise as Champion in the middle part of the game.

Bodahn and Sandal return, and aren't the only folks from Origins you'll meet.

Relationships can make life unpleasant and awkward depending on your status with certain people, and if you decide to initiate romance it will be muddled even more, as you juke and dodge complicated decisions less your partner hate you.

Choices coem fast and furious, so you'll have to commit to your stance or settle for your mates being strictly platonic.

Companions are crucial to your emotional investment in the crafty plotline and thus you'll feel all the above is worth the effort, as their interactions have become the lifeblood of the entirety of the game and what makes it so irrestible.

Purists might chafe at changes in the sequel as rather than letting you wander Ferelden's wide world and kingdoms, the game's scope and storyline take a tighter and smaller focus, limiting your travels to Kirkwall and a handful of locations in the Free Marches.

Post this on Super Spoiler Thread.

My salacious, sarcastic Rogue Hawke won't support Anders' quest for vengenance, but she'll love her family dearly and do anything to protect Bethany!  So no "mages all should be tranquil BS" (good thing she's busty, then? hahaha).  Sorry Fenris, that's the line. Cross it, you get an Antivan dagger in yo' ribs.  After some hate sex, of course; she's not a monster.

I agree, the way I've stated probably makes me sound as if i want an easy one, but I do like a challenge. I know I will be a rogue anyway, i'm useless as a mage but I am thinking about changing my tune:whistle:

No offense taken, friend, and truly, I don't really mind some spoilers because they make me even more excited.  And in fairness, I played Origins months after it came out.

I just don't want people to be "ninja-spoiled" without a chance to avoid it.

Me, too; I kind of want to play as one now, playing a mage in the demo was awesome.  2nd playthrough, for sure.  I just loved the Rogue class in Origins.

EDIT: double post.  Sorry, guys, I get too worked up and can post a mile a minute when I get going.  I talk too much:unsure:

I don't think that magehawke automatically gets the rivalry romance.
Rivalry and friendship is about the decisions you make, not about the class Hawke is.

but I think rivalry romance will be easier with a mage, just because Fenris doesn't like mages.

No you can romance a character either way. It's just if you romanced in rivalry it would have different options as to romancing in friendship. It's totally different from DA:O

Heh, that's MY take on it, certainly.  I'm still playing as a mage first regardless; they kick way too much arse.  Now I'm just going to have a rival-mance rather than a fluffy friendship romance.  Just think, if we were going off the old DAO approval system, us mage Hawkettes probably wouldn't have a chance with him AT ALL.

OR! Maybe through the dialog and our actions we can somehow convince him that not all mages are bad?  They DID say that the characters change over time...

That would be bad for us mage Hawkettes indeed

Hurrah for the new friendship / rivalry system   :wizard:

Or none at all?  Maybe he won't really be able to accept you.  That would be interesting, and it would add some "realism" to the characters that they can decide "No, sorry, I really hate everything you stand for and this just isn't going to work out."

Edit: and by decide I mean "say," since they're still scripted AI. XD
