He did?

He made a slight inclination that while Fenris would punch people if they touched him, he would hold back for Hawke.

And the whole Edward/Jacob comment just sounds like giggling snark of foreshadowing.

I'm probably over speculating, but writers are tricky beasts. I don't trust them.

I have to wonder, since the markings on his neck look different from on his arms, whether the normal-looking-scars are from "before" or whether he's been trying to cut away the Lyrium or something equally awful to think about. If that's the case he's been doing a very neat job of it. So... I would guess "from before" unless having really nasty uneven looking scars was too realistic a la why Two Face ended up looking stylized in The Dark Knight.

*ponder*

Whatever the case, the dark outline on the lyrium scars looks kinda weird up close. I guess it would help them stand out at a distance but... ehhhh. I mean if the goal was to have them be apparent from a distance, outline > glow, because glow would basically make him the focal point of every shot? *more pondering*
