I finished the game the other day and was very pleased with Fenris's rival romance with my mage Hawke.And of course immediately after I started another play through to have a friendship romance with Fenris.I WAS going to romance Anders but..sigh,I have a feeling almost all of my female characters will be romancing Fenris x3
Oh and I was VERY happy that Fenris didn't leave me before the finale fight,I glanced at some spoilers and I was so worried that he would abandoned me D:

Don't take my word for it or shoot the messenger, it's all hearsay to me and I never used Isabella much with my first Hawke (between her, Varric and Sebastian, there was too many Rogues on the Dance Floor) so I never got to hear this conversation.

yeah, I heard it  in my anders romance. I don't remember the banter. It killed me and I went back to my 2nd Fen romance play.  It was funnyish but he's mine!

Oh, I haven't heard that banter. I didn't bring Isabela around often enough. They both have very good taste, then.

BTW Fenris rage is amaaaazing.

I feel the same way. I was considering going for Sebastian with my rogue but then I heard how his romance ends and... It's just so not as good as Fenris.

This play I'm going to romance Fenris then switch to Anders when he leaves at first, which will be beyond hard. I don't even like Anders in the slightest, but I'm a bit of a masochist so I want to see what the dialogue is for if you romance him and then kill him. Plus I've heard there's a Fenris/Anders dialogue if you switch to Anders and I must hear it.

Re: Rivalry vs friendship path.

I'm about to start the friendship path playthrough, only did a rivalry one.
I glimpsed on some friendship path moments on youtube, and from what I can tell, rivalry path has him fighting you tooth and nail, yelling more and trying to hate what you do and failing. There dialogs sound a bit angrier, and he tends to look away a lot, whereas in friendship he's a bit more forthcoming and some of his expressions are looking at you surprised instead of looking away.

I'll probably comment on which path I like more when I finish next one, but I adored the rivalry path.

On the funny note, during that said rivalry playthrough I had Isabella and Fenris in my party time to time, and on the occasion I actually felt a jab of jelousy during their banters and during the time when she talks with him about why he's still living in the mansion, LOL.

I get to the end of the game, where Varric is telling the Seeker that everyone leaves the champion, except Isabella. Does everyone get this? Cuz, like, I dont like thinking Fenris leaves.

It's a common bug I think. Apparently the first time you flirt with a companion makes that LI the one Varric mentions staying with Hawke? I haven't seen official confirmation of this, though... It's also possible that the bug is a mix from when you possibly accept Isabela's invitation to go sailing on her pirate ship one day. Did you ever flirt with Isabela and/or have that conversation with her about sailing together?

Then again, I did accept that, but I got the "Fenris stayed with her" ending from Varric. (I only ever flirted with him the whole game, too, no one else).

The only one who stays with the champion is the final romance in the game.  In my game it was Fenris.

Fenris stayed for me. I think someone said that it's whoever you first flirt with?

I'm pretty sure I flirted with Anders first but since I ended up with Fenris I still got the Fenris ending. I think I heard that's an Isabela-specific bug that if you flirt with her at all her flag overwrites any others.

me tooo.  In an RP sense, I imagined my Hawke might have some jealous and some doubts if Fenris was really content with being with another man and would rather be with a woman.  Woulda made a fun confrontation

She's like female version of Zevran, but somehow the same thing that clicked on the Antivan elf just.....wouldn't work on her.

I actually liked Isabela. I'm usually not a fan of the 'tramp' characters but I loved that they all poked fun at her for it and she took it in stride. She has confidence, you have to give her that.

On another note, did anyone else here get strangely excited when Fenris told Aveline he has a 'boy's night' and plays cards with Donnic? I immediately started imagining Donnic/Aveline as Fenris and Hawke's 'other couple' friends.

Another classic example of Fenris's bending his head (or overall head bending, imight have snagged the shot just a second before he moved back). And fittingly enough it was right after the kiss. xD

I love that convo. And yeah, it seems Varric gets everyone in on it, he even taught the dog!

But I just love that he was interacting with Donnic, a non-companion NPC. You keep hearing about how he's a bit of a recluse, it seems like he doesn't socialize that much in the first two acts, so it was just.. I don't know, I found it sweet that he and Donnic were getting along, and I already love Aveline so I immediately wanted to imagine double dates and couples nights and silly things that Fenris and Aveline would probably never agree to in reality.

I liked Isabella too! I actually had her at friend fairly quickly. Still didn't stop me from feeling that bit of jelousy

And huh. In my game the banter with Fenris and Varrick, Fenris says that he's got it and Varrick replies that with a snort about how he still hopes to win it from Isabella?

What made those banters gold for me was the fact that he actually got out of that darned creepy half ruined mansion and developed relationships with other companions. I was thankful I didn't have a drink handy when the banter with Aveline came up where she confronts him why she's not invited to their games with Donnec, and he replies that Donnec was afraid of her when she lost. I don't recall exactly how it went, but I think Aveline went "why?" and Fenris deadpanned that she got scary/angry when she lost.

Awww, I think Aveline would go(and drag Donnic along) for double dates and such... even if only to play big sister.  Aveline made a sweet big sis. I can imagine her getting kind of pprotective of Hawke if Fenris ever hurts her/him.

Hey guys... those of you who played Sebastian dlc, are there any banters between Fenris and Seb? I haven't bought it yet, but thinking about it. I feel like my Hawke got too many companions already, and I don't like to juggle my party so i'm kind of reluctant to add another one. Sell me on it?
