And yeah, I agree about Anders. I stopped wanting to romance him when he used Aveline's dead husband to prove some argument about mages. He just goes out of his way to be insulting to people.

Wait...what?!  What does he say about Wesley?  I must know!

Edit: found another version that shows more reactions from party members and he also doesn't say the "I know we're not friends" strange...

...What's that we were saying about Fenris and Anders' hate-hate relationship?

Anders: Your sister is a mage? You bloody hypocrite. You really are just jealous!

-and-

Fenris: There is nothing for me to reclaim. I am alone.
Hawke: You have friends, Fenris.
Fenris: Oh? And who would those be, you?
Anders: It sure isn't me.

I think his difference in response depends if you're on the rivalry or friendship path.

It's been so long that I can't remember now, it was one of their very first dialogues. All I remember is that he said something disparaging or mocking about Wesley to Aveline in Act I when it's only been a year since his death, and just the fact that he did so stuck with me.

Yeah, I definitely take way too much satisfaction in Anders' death. And I liked him so much in Awakening!

Oh I heard that banter. I wanted to smack him when he went on about her husband. It goes something like he want's to know if all Templar's are so dirty. And Aveline is like wtf? And he's all oh you know, did her husband ever want to play dirty games like the Templar and the desire demon, etc. I think they were going for funny, like some of his banters in Awakening but considering this came in act one and Aveline was a widow, I thought it was totally inapproiate.

Okay, I'm now going through old saves and listening to Act I party banter... And I realized that early on Carver seemed more cordial with Fenris than he was with most of the other teammates, he was asking him questions and making conversation without being sarcastic or short with him. I think Fenris totally has the bro seal of approval.

So I took a smallish picture of the scarf thing around Fenris's arm, since I found an angle that shows the color of it too.

A link will have to work though, dunno how to post direct images. Anyhow, I can't for my LIFE see what it is... D:

It's called a token.
In older times people would bestow a token or favor onto someone that felt a great connection to.
It's supposed to be almost like a crest. The person wearing it is now tied to you, and their actions reflect on you.

Women would often tie their favorite scarf or a patch of cloth that they liked around thier lover's arm as a token, especially if that person was going off into battle.

I think the debate is whether or not that tied piece of cloth is holding someting too. If you look closer, there seems to be a twig or something sticking out.

Also, what is the importance of Fenris having a piece of cloth as a sign of endearment for Hawke while others, like Merrill, have a wardrobe change?

Ah, I guess I should've read more comments.
I know sometimes the token band would hold a personal item, often a lock of hair. Maybe that's it?

And, I don't know the real reason, but it would make sense that the others would have a wardrobe change and he wouldn't.
The guy doesn't even wear shoes.
It just seems more fitting to me.

^THAT lol.

Well some people are arguing it's just his armor - and I don't see why it would be Hawke's hair if you could have a starkwhite-headed Hawke.. and how he got that lock, I'll never fathom.

Isabella also receives the red arm band if you enter into a romance with her. Its a nice touch, really. For some reason I always pictured the red scarf being from the drapes in the Hawke estate... they aren't the same red though, I checked lol. It also would be kind of rude...

Hawke: What are you doing Fenris?
Fenris: I want to have something to remember this night. *tearing sound*
Hawke: My curtains! D:

Do you possibly have a picture of Isabela's cloth thing?

Wow, I didn't know the red scarf thing was related to him being an LI. That's sweet.

No, I didn't romance her myself... only Fenris.

I saw it in another thread... let me see if I can find a link.

(you need to scroll down to see it)

this is the only picture I could find of Isabella's "outfit change"
You can see she is now wearing a black corset and if you look really closely there is a red arm band on her right arm.

I see - that's intersting! I"ll have to ask my bf to see if she has anything tied to it. I wonder why Isabela and Fenris don't have complete wardrobe changes..

Awww. I'm playing my second playthrough (first one with Fenris as a romance) and I just finished the quest regarding Leandra's fate. I didn't realize that your love interest will comfort you in your room if you've started said romance before the end of that quest. Fenris is so awkwardly touching in that scene. :-)

During a banter between Fenris and Isabela (If Hawke has not romanced
neither of them) she will state that she could not stop thinking about
"last night" in which Fenris will invite her over again. This suggests
that Fenris and Isabela are involved in some kind of relationship.

I have a sudden detest towards her <_<...

Bah, I'll go for the interpretation that Isabela is just boasting and teasing. I even remeber the cutscene when Isabela asks Fenris why he is staying in that home, that goes womething like:
Fenris: I like the view
Isabela: Me too
And she walks away looking in an allusive way at Hawke who is just entering.

After all, I do not see Fenris fall for her, he is not the type to do it "for fun" apparently. I don't think he would bother with Isabela. It's just that he likes to tease back too sometimes, and I can picture him drinking wine or playing cards with her. Not more, at least in my head

No need to get jealous :D
Seriously though, Fenris likes cleavages (remember the short story), so it's normal he'll tease or flirt back. But sleep or fall in love... I highly doubt it. Just think back to what he tells Hawke when he opens up...

So, uh, here's a question. And I do apologize if it's been asked before, but I didn't feel like going through 1098 pages just to make sure.
I gave the Fenris romance a shot, and it went well so far, but I think his Alone quest is bugged for me. I keep reading how he's supposed to temporarily leave your party afterwards, and how there's supposed to be a follow up conversation at his mansion, but neither of these happened. He remained in my active party, and everytime I try to talk to him at his place, he just keeps saying "Yes, my friend?", "Tell me, and it is done." and those kind of standard replies.

Have I done something wrong? He is wearing the red ribbon and crest and everything, I shamelessly flirted with him, but nothing. Nada. Zilch.

Could it be because he's at about... 75 friendship instead of something higher?

No, if neither is romanced, they DO get together and talk about it in a banter.  It's also obvious in the banter that it's just sex, but I thought it was funny.

Wait what, Fenris and Isabella? O.o

The banter is difficult enough without being able to tell Isabella off. :P Though it's fun if you romance Fenris and she tries and he just goes "I wouldn't suggest trying" etc.
