"You're not going to, I dunno, do some potentially disturbing werewolfy unshakable, insoluble mate-bond thing, are you?"
"What? No. Don't be ridiculous."
By "expect" I mean, of course, "would lol at tremendously."

On a sidenote, he seems to be the prissy version of Shale.
You mean the sexy version of Shale.
Yeah, if he has anything approaching Shale's personality, I will never stop loving him.
Also, I already want to steal his hair for my Lady Hawke.

With a name like Fenris, I'm saying werewolf.
It's been done (Dalish/Werewolves) but I REALLY like this theory. Maybe he's a super-werewolf, like from the name's history... I posted that somewhere, I'm not sure if it was in this thread or the thread that got closed, but I'll see if I can find it again.
Here we go:
# FENRIR: Usually said to be an Anglicized form of Old Norse Fenrisúlfr,
but according to Sophus Bugge, author of The Home of The Eddic Poems,
this name, as well as Fenris, probably originated with Norsemen under
the influence of Christianity, and was a word for "hell" and only later
took on the meaning "swamp."
# FENRIS: Usually said to be an
Anglicized form of Old Norse Fenrisúlfr, but according to Sophus Bugge,
author of The Home of The Eddic Poems, this name, as well as Fenrir,
probably originated with Norsemen under the influence of Christianity,
and was a word for "hell" and only later took on the meaning "swamp."
#
FENRISÚLFR: In mythology, this is the name of a wolf, the son of Loki
and the giantess Angrboða, popularly translated "swamp wolf," but
probably originally meaning "wolf of hell." According to Sophus Bugge,
author of The Home of The Eddic Poems, this name cannot possibly mean
"swamp wolf," for there does not exist in Old Norse any derivative
endings as -rir, or -ris. He believes Fenrir and Fenris arose under the
influence of Christian conceptions of the devil as lupus infernus,
combined with tales of the Behemoth and the beast of the Apocalypse, and
was altered in form in accordance with popular Old Norse etymology. He
compares Old Norse fern from Latin infernus to Old Saxon fern which was
derived from Latin infernum, and explains that Fenrir and Fenris must
have been formed from *Fernir from fern using the endings -ir and gen.
-is, both of which were very much used in mythical names, including
names of giants. He goes on to explain that the later connection with
fen ("fen, swamp, mire") was natural, for hell and lower regions, such
as the abyss, are often connected by imagination just as they still are
today.
Would a werewolf be a "Wolf of Hell"? I think it's a good possibility.

Thanks.Though it didn't even cross my mind that anyone might find them offensive or distasteful, so here's two slightly more generic ones. Just in case.
If anyone prefers smaller and/or less flashy banners, feel free to use the one I just whipped up as well.
A bit more boring, perhaps, but just wanted to let it be known that it's available for use if anyone wants it.

If they do that then they have to make Varric sparkle in sunlight (his chesthair already do) and then Hawke will beg him to turn him/her into a dwarf during the entire game.

"Slave" and "living weapon" conjure really unfortunate words in my head like "eunuch" and "sterile."

Any one else getting the impression that Fenris getting his memories back will be a serious plot point?
Yeah. That's the part where he remembers his dead wife.

They can reffrence it if they want, but I hope Fenris makes comments about his werewolf-niss in general, maybe there will be talk about him having fleas, or smelling like wet dog in the party banter.Pseudocognition wrote...

Probably worth to remember Mr.Gaider's words at this point -- how the fans lacking the info about characters can drive themselves into invention of possible backstories and other stuff for these characters ... that no actual character can manage to live up to, once the game gets released.
Won't stop me from having crazy theories, right or wrong it's a load of fun before the game comes out.
If you're right, there's also a little bit of satisfaction.

If I was an artist I would be inspired to draw stalker Varric in FemHawke's bedroom.

If by boring, you mean gorgeous. I love how forum members have so much talent. I liked the earlier ones, and I like this quite a bit as well.

In what universe is that boring! But yeah, this forum probably has the least sig space out of all the ones I've seen - we need smaller ones for people with multiple sigs. (and because not everyone likes flashy, of course
Oh, and if anyone's really desperate (and I mean really desperate, as it's a really shoddy job) for a Fenris wallpaper, here's the one I'm using. Posting a link since it's 1680×1050.
And while I like the werewolf theory, I just... don't see it happening.
