My initial reaction was

But you know what?  Good for him.  You can't expect him to be celibate jsut because he's not sleeping with Hawke.  She obviously knows what she's doing, so I'm sure he enjoyed it.  If he ain't getting it from Hawke, I'm glad he's getting it from somwhere.

thats what i am hoping anyway, was that banter whilst or during a romance with hawke?

I got it in act 3.  I'm not sure of the conditions to get it -- keep in mind that Fenris is still wearing the red ribbon on his arm (she went from Fenris to Anders in act 2).  It could be there for Hawkes who broke up with him or something to let us know he moved on.  Or it could be for everyone.  I got it directly after one that went kind of like this:

Fenris: So you and Hawke are living together now.
Anders: We are (or something like that, I don't remember exactly how it went and it would be a pain to find it again).
Fenris: Be good to her.  Break her heart and I'll kill you.

Edit: And truthfully, after seen that banter I don't know if I'll ever be able to romance anyone BUT Fenris

This is what I'm wondering, basically. I'm glad Fenris finds somebody when he's not with Hawke. I just don't think it's neccessarily consistant with what we know of him for that person to be Isabela ...

(I'm honestly not jealous, I've always advocated companion romances, and Isabela is my third favourite character after Fenris and Varric. I just want this to make sense to me ;_

I am hoping it's bugged -- I wouldn't think that he would be willing to get on with a Hawke if romanced, but who knows.  I liked the cameo though for the most part -- he's still a BAMF and his codex owns faces.

I just only see that banter if if had already been with Hawke (due to his issues), but I didnt think isabela, more like Merril, it's funny! but I'm not a fan of Isabela, just cos shes a bit wild for my taste haha!

Fenris might have sought out carnal attachment without any strings attached.  By the way that he talked to her, that's most certainly the case.  And she is hot, not gonna lie.

But, fair enough, actually, I didn't think of that! If Isabela came onto him hard, I severely doubt he'd say no. And Isabela is damn good at what she does, I'm sure she could have avoided hurting him. Probably a lot better than Lady Hawke did. And because there was no emotional connection, he wouldn't have felt obligated to pull away.

Thinking of Isabela as the aggressor makes it make sense to me, thanks

Actually, he doesn't even say that.  He says he can't remember before and hasn't since he escaped.  Denarius makes a comment about how delicious he is as well (but maybe I just have a sick mind).  The conversation didn't sound like a confession of virginity; it sounded like he would never let anyone close.

Anyway, it wouldn't surprise me if it were a romance thing -- that making love to Hawke the one time allowed him to move on when it comes to things like that.

Also, it seems like Fenris is a bit of a drunk.  One bottle of wine, and Isabela shoving her boobs in his face....really, how could it *NOT* happen?

My guide says that, and online resources say he won't, think the guides wrong.

THAT'S the conversation that made me think that sex would be another one of his duties as a slave.  Especially since he doesn't say it doesn't happen then, only that he doesn't remember before and hasn't since he escaped.  But nothing really is said outright.

Edit: And I do not think Fenris ever moves in with Hawke in the game.  Guides are often wrong.  What happens after they make love is entirely different.

Has anyone else noticed that the guide is wrong on quite a few things, very annoying, such as you cant keep fenris if hes rivalry!

Re-did my whole game due to that comment and it wasnt even true!!!
