Ahh, that explains why I don't remember it, it's a friendship line and I rivaled him. I do love the look he gives at that same point in the rivalmance though. Hawke says, "You don't have to do this alone", and he responds, "Don't I?" And gives a similar look, but it seems a bit sadder. Definitely an 'aww' moment.

I think he has more 'awww' moments than nearly anyone else.  His sad-puppy expression...his angry expression...

I thought it had more to do with memory than feeling masterless.  Losing his memories of his entire life obviously has an effect on him.  I took it more to mean that he doesn't want to forget anything else important to him, so he'll cling to those mementos to ensure he never does.

I didn't get that at all. If he wants to wear it then it's more like a promise ring, a show of commitment, not ownership. I think it's sweet.

The first time I saw it, I had NO idea what it was or why it was there.  It was kinda 'hey, that wasn't there a minute ago...whatever'.  LOL  Then I saw Merrill's complete transformation and it clicked.

I can get where you're coming from about the filling a hole thing.  Still, knights used to do similar things, wearing favors (I thought that was it, but I had to ask, regardless...) or wearing the crest of the house they're a part of.

although, I'm pretty sure that's just in his memories.  We don't know if Leto has had relations with anyone before.

Also the discussion earlier that implied if you aren't romancing Fen, he gets somethin-somethin from Isabella

I wonder if him wearing the scarf is his way of silently declaring his feelings even when for all intents and purposes they've been over for three years, or if he was simply supposed to change after the reconciliation and there was some sort of bug.

From a gameplay point of view, it's there to let you know that he was supposed to "break up" with you. Let you know that he super likes you, even though it seems like the romance is over.

I personally was shocked the first time I heard it and rewatching the scene it still makes me frown at times. Just seems to sound unbelievable to me. I'd be a total mess if we'd been broken up for 3 years.

I didn't think it fit into the context of the situation. It seemed weird to follow that up with Fenris mentioning that you guys haven't talked about what happened 3 years ago.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only way to get that scene is after you complete the sister quest? Since it starts off with him talking about being free.

In that quest, you have the option to "flirt" for the first time in 3 years, when he says that he's alone, and Hawke reminds him that she's still there. He gives her this really deep look. Does that help with your context dilemma?

It never seemed off in my other playthroughs.  Then again, I always did 'All that Remains' after Fenris left my Hawke at the end of 'The Bitter Pill'.  He shows up and trys to comfort her, so that kinda said to me that they stepped back onto ground that was comfortable for him.  That's how it seemed to me, anyways.  Then again, sometimes men wont discuss something bothering them for years, anyways...That would be the voice of experience piping in there...>.>;

I died inside when I watched the vid of Hawk betraying Fenris....now what was left inside me died as well.
