Ahhh me too! In my game both Fenris and Anders were in love with my mage F!Hawke, I just feel like that would make them hate eachother all the more. There's so much to go on with the Fenris romance though, especially if he's romancing a mage. 'Tis tempting to write about.

Oh! And there is another fun Isabella related banter, if you choose to duel the Qunari for her. Fenris says that he still can't believe that Hawke saved Isabella from the Quinari, Isabella replies asking if he would turn her in instead, to which he replies that he wouldn't but he knows what Quinari do to their prisoners, then explains it, and then points out that if she wishes to thank Hawke, she's standing right there.

I laughted

Aww, I never got that. Fenris only told Isabella if she expected them to just let her go after they had stayed for 4 years cause of her. He wasn't happy. xD

Anders keeps haunding her to be fanatical about "freeing" the mages. Fenris talks about her opinion on it and after she talks for a bit she goes "I don't wanna argue about this" to which Fenris asks if she'd rather guess the color of his underclothes again and she is like "Oh yes! that's much more fun!"

Which of course makes Fenris even more awesome,

Yesterday was embarrassing because I had to resort to casual mode to get through an encounter. I took Isabela, Fenris, and Anders into the Fade. I lost Isabela to the desire demon, as expected, but I thought Anders would be the other person to turn on me. It was Fenris instead and he one-shotted my rogue and Anders every single time. I had one lousy offensive spell on Anders. I would even take off his weapons and gear, thinking I was so brilliant, but nooooo. He had a default sword and STILL got us both in one hit if he caught up to us. Took me a bit to figure it out. (I basically had to get lucky on a critical and run Anders around like a little girl that didn't want to get hit.) =p

I liked how Fenris' follow-up apology reinforces that he's not someone to be coddled. The green route was "aw, it's not your fault" versus the red "yeah, I was surprised you took the deal." He responded better to the red response.

After reading Gilsa's comment I had to rush to try it out. He basically said that no one was as surprised as he was that he took the deal. Will have to try the middle option later, but been testing out the Fade way too much today for my topic on the subject.

Oh and his responses differ wether you're on friendship or rivalry path, which is both a blessing (yay more possibilities!) and a curse for information gathering.

He is if you don't give him much of a chance and my character didn't really.  Although I did get to see what kind of stoic David Gaider meant earlier... the kind of stoic that acts like it's no big deal you just told him off, apologizes for offending you, and then hits you with +20 Rivalry.

+20 rivalry isn't a bad thing it just plays  out differently. Good things happen at full rivalry just as they do at full friendship. It's just more of a "hey we aren't friends but bI respect the hell out of you". Too bad you see it as a bad thing.

I agree. It's a mutual thing thats there for either romance.

I  have no problem romancing Anders after this. Each character and each playthrough is different and I don't know it well enough to metagame it yet.  So I figure I have 2 more playthroughs with friendship romances (Bela and Sebastian...yes I  know it's useless but it's there so I must and I just can't with Merill). I haven't imported any of my favorite origins characters because of the import bugs (I did too kill the effing architect Nate and Dammit Alistair I did more than have a name, I am not your ball and chain and ZEVRAN ARAINAI shame on you for trying to get in Hawke's pants behind Tryna's back!), So I'm playing default ones. But lets face it, romancing Anders as a mage is easy, even if you  know what's coming.   Even as a non mage, it's easy to look and think "Maker, this could be my sister..."

Well thanks to me missing a piece of   my act II armor, I have to roll back, and that means the fade again so I guess I'll have to take Fen and Anders. Anders turns immediately to justice in the fade. I forgot about that the first time, as justice he cannot be tempted. I took Bela, Fen, and Merill. Fen stayed. So Anders it is this time!

Only Tevinter-cuss I saw on the friend path was the lovely one he does in Act III when you get the quest for his sister-- and that's not directed at Hawke.

I feel my rogue is going to be jumping trains-- I was going to simply friend Fenris and have her go with Sebastian, but I must see this Tevinter-cursing at Hawke. Thankfully, the rogue hasn't picked up Fenris yet, so she won't be too bi-polar.

LOL. I got a kick out of Fenris shutting Zevran down when he tried to offer a personal reward. I didn't have Isabela in the group so no idea if her dialogue would override anything. Too tedious of a boss fight to rotate though all the companion reactions.
