...though I actually like that elves don't wear shoes. Am I the only one? http://social.biowar...icons/angry.png

Na, I like that they don't. Makes me want to tease them mercelessly, but I like it :)

And now that someone say that dog/fenris banter -exits- this second playthrough I'm going to enter/reenter houses and click the darn puppy untill blue in the face untill I get it!

Funny screencap time.

Elven solidairy, or what happens when Hawke finally gives up trying to convince them to wear shoes.

*snip*

LOL  Even though I hate the elven shoeless thing, it's funny that Fenris' idle animations show him looking at the bottoms of his feet.

Yes Fen baby, that is doo you just stepped in back there.  Don't let Anders scrape you for selae petrae samples.

After I killed the Harvester and clicked on Merrill (who wasn't in my active party, but only a sideline participant) she said something about how she wished she was wearing shoes with soles. I laughed a little because Orsino's blood was all over the Gallows, and I wanted to say "NOW do you understand?"

Also, when I crushed the Harvesters head with my foot in the game my initial reaction was "Ooooh. THAT'S what those spikes on my heels are for!"

I don't know if the other Champion armors come with the curved hooks on the back of the boots, but the mage robes do...

Yeah, they all have the spurs, I think warrior and rogue have bigger ones xD And claw gauntlets. Speaking of claw gauntlets, I think my enjoyment of Fenris is directly proportional to how spiky his gloves are and how many pouches there are on his belt. The more pouches the better, I say.

Okay, good. Because the spurs are an essential part of the ensemble. Also, the mage has one clawed glove, which I find more badass than two.

Fenris' armor is pretty awesome, especially the gloves and that belt. Which gets infinitely more awesome when he adds the Hawke/Amell crest to it.

Off topic character question. Sorry guys. >.<
So I picked a few violent/direct answers in Act 1 and decided to just keep going like that throughout the rest of the game.
I've noticed that my character is now pretty rude without me telling him what to say...he also seems mighty bloodthirsty (when we see enemies in Lowtown at night, my character is all like, 'YEAHHHH I'M GOING TO ENJOY THIS!'), and I think his skin complexion is changing from smooth to kind of weathered looking.

I've never noticed this before...is it supposed to be like that?

Yeah, your personality stacks, effecting dialogue you don't directly chose, such as opening statements and combat dialogue. I don't know about the appearance, though. My Hawke was almost always sarcastic, so she presented herself as thus even without my prodding. I don't think she changed in appearance though. No weird facial marks or anything...

I have a quick question for anybody to answer.

During Act II, after I got the initial scene with Fenris, I went into the Hanged Man and was going to give Isabela a gift, but instead I got a conversation about my relationship with Fenris, totally out of the blue. I read somewhere that Varric will mention a relationship with Anders to you. I was wondering if anyone encountered any other random dialogues like this, or whether who comments on your relationship is predetermined by who you actually have the relationship with. Or if these little dialogues will pop up other times. I don't think I had a journal entry at the time telling me to talk to her because I hadn't gotten to her companion quest yet (considering it's at the end of the Act) and like I said, she didn't accept the gift in that conversation. I had to talk to her again to actually give her the gift.

I got Anders disapproving of a Fenris romance (video).  It was out of the blue as well, no idea how they determine who comments and when.

ejoslin said that if you hit Anders on the rebound, Fenris comments on it in banters, threatening what he's going to do if Anders hurts her etc.

He does and it's awesome.  Also Merrill will tell Fenris he's in love with Hawke if they've made love ever (I've seen this both while in an active romance with Fenris and in an active romance with Anders after Fenris left).  This can be a reassuring banter to hear.  I'm sure there are more.

Leandra also will comment about your LI in a conversation.

The dialogs you can have with companions won't show up in a journal unless it is quest related (like a gift, or something that actually is a quest).  There are more conversations you can have with your companions than show up in your journal, though not many.

See, now I feel like I cheated myself, because other than that one Isabela dialogue I never went and had conversations with my companions when it wasn't quest related. Do you know when these might trigger? Or are you talking about the conversations when your companions show up to talk to your dog? Because I've had those.

Oh, I also knew about the Anders disapproval of Fenris. It's triggered when you begin his last companion quest in Act III. And he initiates it, not you. See, I initiated the conversation with Isabela so I was wondering if there were other little dialogues like that lying around...I'm also not counting party banter, but actual conversation when my Hawke initiates conversation with a companion.

The Anders/Fenris banter is a discussion if they're both in your party and you went to Anders after Fenris leaves.  When I say banter, I mean the ambient conversations your companions have as you walk around. Fenris and Anders have two that I've heard regarding Hawke -- they're both pretty amazing.

You know, the conversations I'm thinking of may show up in your journal, but they're not on the map.  When you go to talk to them when they have aq uest conversation available, you get the other one first.  Like the one you describe with Isabela. But I found most of your information comes from the party banters when you're walking around.  I really like those a lot.

Are you talking about the Anders discussion if you begin his romance? Because I got the one that had slight overtones of disapproval after I had made up with Fenris and we were doing Anders' personal quest when he gathers the ingredients to blow up the Chantry. In the one I'm talking about I love how after he calls Fenris something like a 'mad dog' I get to say 'Don't call him that', though the lines comes out differently. Fenris then joins in because he was standing right behind me.

I actually feel guilty for creating a little love triangle with them, and enjoying it so much. Because I did flirt with Anders. So I like to imagine he's really freakin' jealous because I chose the mage hater. But I just love that, even though I'm a mage and he despises mages, Fenris seems so protective. Not in a "I MUST TAKE CARE OF YOU" way (because Hawke wouldn't appreciate that), but in a "I've had a horrible life and now that I've found something that makes me happy I'm going to hold onto it" kind of way...

Oh okay.
It was just weird to me, because I've always been super-nice in my playthroughs, so when I'm finally being an angry mean Hawke, my personality completely changes. I'm all abrasive and rude. Varric even apologized for me once. :P

Being a mage and rivalmancing Fenris has been one of my favorite parts of the game.  I've been trying to play a rogue on my alt playthrough, but right now, it just doesn't have the same spark.  I'm thinking of just doing a mage playthrough again, but just choosing a different path for Carver and trying my best to work on a friendly romance with Fenris.

Nono, I'm talking about ambient banter that your companions have while walking around.  I do know what you're talking about.

There's one that changes depending on whether you're with Anders or not after Fenris left (either Anders will talk about how much he loves Hawke or Fenris will say how leaving was the hardest thing he ever did).  Then there's one that happens in act 3 that goes something like this (I don't remember exactly how it goes):

Fenris: So, you're living with Hawke now.
Anders: I am.
Fenris: Be good to her. Break her heart, and I'll kill you.

But you have to be with anders, obviously, to get this.

See, I said this in a very long post awhile ago: but I had no trouble romancing Fenris as a friend. In fact, he was the second person (Aveline being the first) who maxed out on the friendship meter. But I also hated blood magic and never even listened to demons. I turned them down flat the moment they opened their mouths which made Fenris happy. They only time I didn't take him on a quest was for the 'Wayward Son' quest. Even then I took him to the meeting with the slavers so he could phase fist the guy to get him to talk, then help me murder all the slavers. Only took him out of the party because I knew I was going to let the kid go to the Dalish.

But I whole heartedly supported him against his captors and shamelessly flirted with him---but that was for fun, not because I wanted points :Dlol

I hope I changed his opinion of all mages. I certainly know he is devoted to Hawke.

Yeah, I loaded a save after Fenris left me, teased Anders a little just to get his romance, but I didn't keep the save. I just wanted to see the scene for myself. I felt so bad for "cheating" on Fenris I went back and replayed the "Bitter Pill" quest just so I could be nice to him...

So, yeah, I know about the dialogue but I've never actually heard it for myself. Though I did catch it when Fenris said "Do not bare your heart to me, mage. Lest I rip it out." Or something like that. Yeah. I think he was angry that Anders replaced him. Very angry. Coupled with his complete disgust for mages. I enjoy angry Fenris, especially when it's not aimed at me.

One of my favorites scenes is when he finds out about his sister: (going from faulty memory here, so don't be too harsh. lol)
Fenris: (after Aveline walks out) *cursing in Tervinter*
Hawke: It might just be me, but I could swear your upset.
Fenris: *Something about his sister. He found her. Sent her money. She's here. (too long, can't remember)*
Hawke: Yes. Everything's going according to plan, what could be worse?
Fenris: (with my favorite reaction to sarcastic Hawke, just because of the way he says it) Yes, yes. Laugh at me.

She actually does know that she made a deal with a demon, it's in a banter with Anders. Only she refers to all beings in the fade as spirits. She tells Anders she knew exactly what she was dealing with and it's too bad he didn't when he gets on her about it.  I admit I actually cheered her a bit in that moment, even while romancing Anders. Damn her and her big puppy eyes...she beats Fenris in that department.

Easily one of my favorite moments in the game.  Sarcastic!Hawke + Angry!Fenris is awesome.  I also love the moment when Fenris apologizes for walking out on Hawke in Act II and the sarcastic response is something along the lines of  "I might just have to hold this over you for a while."

I guess I meant she didn't really understand the implications.  She thought she was far more in control than she actually was.  She was fooling herself, or the demon was fooling her.  She was so in over her head, and she didn't realize it.  If you take her to the fade, she gets a glimmering of it, but she loses everything in pursuit of this, and can't give it up.

Edit: She tells Fenris how she made the deal with the demon in her sleep.  She knew she had made the deal, she didn't understand what it meant -- she was not seeing the demon's influence on her.  Is that a better way of putting it?

So I've only heard some banter from Isabela flirting with Fenris but there was one that had me LOL so hard. She's asking him about what he did for his old master and at the end it's almost as if Isabela was writing a Fenris fanfic. Hilarious.

So I don't have Isabela in my party much but does Fenris and her actually get together? I've read somewhere else someone claims they slept together or something...

They do, but it's only if you don't romance Fenris/move on after he walks out.

Tried to do a playthrough as a mage romancing Anders and I just cant do it. Fenris always persuades me.

YES, they slept together in my playthrough where Hawke got with Anders after Fenris left.  I'm not sure of all the conditions for triggering it (my guess is Hawke and Fenris got together, then Hawke hooked up with someone other than Isabela after Fenris left), but here is the banter.  They had sex.  They're making plans on doing it again.  It's sex.

For some reason, your wording made me laugh. :D

They do, but it's only if you don't romance Fenris/move on after he walks out.

Well that is interesting. I'm gonna have to try that once. Heck on my second playthrough this week but this one is for Fenris. I'll try Merrill next just so I can hear that. No wonder Isabela is all over it when you're romancing Fenris at the Hanged Man, like she understands why Hawke is attracted? I like those little things.....

Holy shmoly i thought i would never come back here soon ^^"

I have only one copy with my bf, because I preordered on Amazon and what they did afterwards made me cancel. Of course he wanted to register his game cause he is a collection freak...and it was his copy. That left me out of the forums, cause i had nothing to register. I tried registering my Origins and Awakening to see if i can get in here but i had no luck. But one of my best buddies came to my rescue! Yay! Now i can talk about Fenris!

I was so happy to meet him in game. He is how i imagined him to be and more. Much more! I loved his personality, his voice (yum!) even his looks (although i tried the black hair mod).

I was a little bit disappointed that we couldn't talk to him that much...I miss the old Alistair convos we had in the camp. And the orgies i could have with Zevran of course xD Oh and i wanted to see his body lyrium brands god dammit!!! That was the most captivating thing and we didn't get to see them. Bummer!

I dunno why, but i thought i would like him more with black hair. Seems i don't :(

Oh wow~ LOL that's kind of awesome outside of my romance with Fenris. Isabela likes him right away when you put them in the party...I just didn't expect Fenris to go for it. I'm sure if this was Anders pre-DA2 he would've gotten some too with Isabela but he's too busy brooding ove mages' freedom....

Thanks! :wizard:
