I am seriously conflicted. Before playing I was so sure I would have created a mage, romanced Anders, and be a fugitive with him.  
But my first playthrough was in the end a female rogue, that friendly romanced Fenris. 

Now I created my male mage, I am succesfully rivalmancing him (though I took a few friendly points now and then with slavers and refusing demons), but I really REALLY don't want to let him go and I am not sure if I'll resist the rivalmance. 
I saw Ander's romance, I tried to go with him after Fenris left. I just realoaded though, I only wanted to see it, but I could never now rivalmance Fenris and go to Anders. I feel like a cheater

Fenris will win, I know it everytime I listen to his voice and see him.  Rivalmance with mage incoming.

Anders will have to wait another mage.

I always feel like Fenris had more steps in his relationship. In Act II you could have one of two largely similar romance scenes (either you got to tell him not to go after "A Bitter Pill" or you had to wait for him to come back on his own. Like I sad, largely similar, but slight difference), then you got the make up kiss, which then fades down to the fireplace, and let's face it...when it fades to the fire it always means that sex follows. It's just what I expect. lol. And then you got the scene in the Gallows when he kisses you again (hotly I might add. Seriously. I was swooning.) and he basically professes his love, though he never actually says the words. It had progress. I couldn't rush it. I loved it.

And then we rode off into the sunset. My mage Hawke and Fenris, who is seriously a ****ing beast. There's no way Hawke could get killed if they're together. My first Hawke was well over level 20 and incredibly powerful (if I do say so myself) so she's capable of watching his back as well....

She was sorry to see Varric go, though. They were best buds.

No, actually, I thought it was in character and wonderful, and the things that he says instead of it are even more melt-worthy. I just thought it was interesting.

I guess it's good that he can move on and take that good part of the relationship with Hawke, which was being able to be intimate with someone again. It's a testament that Hawke changed him and influnced him enough so he could grow, whether they stayed with Hawke or not.

It still makes me want to punch him though.

Because they're good friends and have known each other for years at that point? I just don't see the point in getting upset over it, especially when it never happens if you put the moves on him (and don't dump him).

I think what people might be missing is that Isabela and Fenris are EXTREMELY good friends. It comes across in all of their banters. It's something I didn't expect, but they really are best buds, and by the time they start their thing, they've been very good friends for over six years.

And what does Isabela do besides have giant boobs? Dude. Isabela is not only hot, she's a master of seduction and probably absolutely mind-blowingly amazing in bed.

I liked that as well.  In this game, actually, the words don't count for so much -- and in fact, in one instance (NOT Fenris) the words are used in an obvious attempt to manipulate.  What Fenris says, and how he sticks with Hawke no matter what, and the looks he gives Hawke (oh, gah, like the one just after the encounter with his sister if you tell him he has you -- wow).  Yeh, I prefer him not saying it but having all his gestures and the tone of his voice and his looks say it all the time.

Has anyone else noticed how Fenris' idle animations (what happens when you stand around for a little while) Change as the game progresses. At first he's constantly looking over his shoulder and tends to twitch a little. But later on he becomes a lot less nervous.

I'll take your word for it, but he also calls her- in so many words- a skank.  He could just be sleeping with her because she's easy and doesn't ask for any commitment.

I find it hard to believe she's a master of seduction since I never saw the appeal in Origins and still don't for 2.0.  When she came on to the Warden I just thought "you're kidding, right?"  I like her better when she's not putting the tart on, like I liked the card game you played with her in Origins and she's sweet in the dialogue where you give her the ship.

Can I point out that Fenris says he doesn't remember if he had sex before the markings and he has not has sex since he escaped. He does not say he hasn't had sex since the markings, though I guess it could be taken either way. He talks about the pain, but the reason he gives for not having sex since his escape was a trust thing.

Well he was a slave and then he was on the run- that's not conducive even to flings.  Kirkwall is the first time he's been at all settled and secure (*relatively) on his own.  So sure, I can totally believe he's feeling his oats.  He says he was attracted to the "real" life he saw among the fog warriors.  So drinking, gambling, and sex with a woman who's throwing herself at him- no problem.  Something deeper is more challenging.

I too, like 'em skinny.  The taller and lankier, the better (add another check to the "Why I Love Fenris List").
