Gah guys I need some help. I could of sworn that if you get 50% friendship/rivalry with Fenris in Act 1 he'll want to talk to you again. The last time this happened he was all drunk and Hawke offered for sexy time but Fenris refused and said he would think about it.

Does this happen in Act 1? If so I need to know if there is any way to squeeze a tiny bit more of friendship points out of him with the quest Finders Keepers or the quest where you save the viscounts son. Please help a fellow fengirl out x3

I believe that happened to me in Act II, though when exactly it happens for me changed a little bit. My first playthrough I got it after I finished "Bitter Pill" and then I ran around a little bit before I noticed I had a letter at my house. When I walked in there he was telling me he couldn't stop thinking about me. On my other playthrough I actually had this conversation before we were attacked in "Bitter Pill". I don't really remember how or why *shrug*

Hm maybe it happens when you get to 50% but it doesnt matter what Act its in.Thanks for the reply.

His romance utterly confuses me to be honest, I thought the love scene only ever happened after bitter pill. One time I did it and the "dont go" didnt come up and i thought i screwed up.

does that mean he comes back if you raise up his friendship.

Seriously cant wait for the wikia to update with all this info.

Question on Fenris.....when he's going to 'phase punch' his sister (love that description)...if you are going to romance him...what should you pick?

I played that scene a couple of times....very sad Fenris when you give him to the Tevinter....could never do that after seeing that whipped dog look.

I always describe it as phase punching. lol

After you beat Danarious (sp? I really don't know. I think I butchered his name, but I'm too lazy to look it up right now) he'll confront his sister and she'll beg for her life. You can ask him to spare her, and then she reveals how he got the markings, but I always chose the option "You deserve to die." My sarcastic Hawke (I don't know how different it is for other people) says something like "Stop? Stop what? Stop him from killing a traitor?" Then he phase punches her. And then you get to chose the flirt line "You have me." And he gives you the most heartbreaking look. I play that quest over and over again just to see that look in action

I always kept the sister alive. It would only make Fenris feel worse in the end, I assume. His vengeance never brought him peace.

If romanced correctly he will return, even if you don't get to say "Don't go" after "A Bitter Pill" quest. That's the way it was for me in my first playthrough. I actually prefer coming home to find him waiting for me.

Ah, that reminds me of when Varric asks him about our little...fling.

He asks how Fenris did it, or something like that, and Fenris is all confused until Varric asks him if he swept Hawke off her feet. I think Fenris asks why he needs to know, and Varric admits that he needs to know for the story (or something like that). I think Fenris says something like: I'll tell you one thing. There was no sweeping.

I always want to turn around and go: No, but there was a hell-of-a lot of wall slamming...

I prefer the original too. As for how old he is, i think older than Hawke. And since she/he is around 25 years at the start of the game...Fenris might be 30ish? Or more...since elves don't show their age. Maybe he is 100 years old! XD

For some reason I always thought of Hawke as somewhere around 21, 22, or 23 at the start. Bethany/Carver is supposedly 18. I never imagined Hawke being more than five years older than her siblings. Which would put her at 30 at the final battle, and 33 when Cassandra is searching for her. I agree that Fenris is definitely older than her, though I can't guess by how much. Hell, he probably doesn't remember. We should have asked his sister before I let him phase punch her <_<

I agree regarding the younger end of the 20's.  She could even be as young as 19 or as old as thirty, but I think the later is unlikely.  I'd say no older than 25, no younger than 20.  She'd also have to be relatively close in age to be friends with one sibling and viewed as a rival by the other.  Maker knows my sister and I have a rivalry relationship (I'm the younger sister...by two years).  Greater distances between children can sometimes lead to emotional gaps, or viewing them like a surrogate parent.

Hawke is older that 25. At the beginning of the game when Gamlen talks to Leandra he says their parents died 25 years ago and he wasn't willing to wait for her that long to return. Also, Leandra said that when their parents died, the twins were a week old.

EDIT: Wait i don't remember if he said she ran away 25 years ago or if their parents died 25 years ago...gotta check.

I remember that Leandra said outright that Bethany was 18 years old at the start. And I always assume that the 25 years ago thing was when Leandra ran away with papaHawke but that might just be me. So I think no younger than 21 and no older than 25 is about right for Hawke's age. I also had Fenris pinned at 23-25 at the start too.

I kept waiting(or maybe just wanting) for a scene cut after Fenris and Hawke are together, showing Varric all smug and amused in his interrogation chair, and Cass looking a little uncomfortable, annoyed, or disturbed. Didn't happen. Damnit. Image IPB

thanks, happened to me and i though i had messed up so i restarted, the wierd thing is I did everything the same on the replay but didnt use one flirt line with Isabela (to get approval)  and the more flirt options came up (about being more than friends which didnt come up first play through) before bitter pill.

But if thats the case, the other scenerio sounds better.

sorry if thats confusing..

Okay, and WHEN does he say this:

"You should really post some guards outside your estate, considering all the trouble you get into."

And this:

"I'll kill anyone who tries to use one of us against you."---the Wiki states he says this during "Best Served Cold", but I know I took him with me for that one, but I don't remember hearing it. Does anyone know? Anything? Anything at all?

Or is it a thing he says if you click on him while doing the quest. I suppose the first one could also be explained by that, if your standing outside your estate.

Oh she said that? Then it is sorted out i believe.

As for Fenris, i think he is much older than that...or at least he looks older than that. Must be the harsh life he had.

Fenris seems to be really fickle about any flirting. It's ok to flirt in act 1 with anyone, but in act 2 with someone who can actually be romanced, it doesn't seem to be (he didn't mind Sebastian or Avaline flirting). Contrast that with Anders, where you can have a full blown romance with anyone, but then go after him and he's all, "YES YES, CHOOSE ME!"

Actually, it's because in act 2 flirting can lead to more serious relationships, and if that is what happens, I think that's what cuts off all romance options for him. If you're breaking hearts, he doesn't want his broken as well.

I actually like that a lot about him.

Edit: I also see Hawke as early-mid twenties.  Fenris, no clue at all.  30 maybe?

It always looked, to me, like he was trying to keep from crying/blink away tears. With him turning from Hawke, grimacing a bit, then blinking and looking up before he faces everyone again. could just be me, though. Image IPB

Doesn't really matter either way. I like the option of leaving it up to the companions to decide how they want to handle things like they're adults. I wish this option was available for the Leliana confrontation with Marjolaine. I wanted Leliana to be the one to decide how to resolve it because it was ultimately her problem, but no, I had to decide the fate of her past lover. Now I'm trying to picture how Alistair would have responded if there was a companion option in asking him to decide whether or not to do the ritual with Morrigan! =p

I'm assuming that he either remembers again that Hawke is a mage too (unlikely if he does this in all the romance) or he's disgusted by the revelation that it was his past self that did everything to bring himself into all this mess he hates?

I think the difference between Fenris and Anders are to be commended. I like that they aren't same in every game mechanic because it speaks leagues about them. Fenris won't live with you, he straight up breaks up with, and you'll break his widdle heart if you cast an eye at someone else ... I think Fenris, for his tough exterior, is really more fragile than Anders -- or anyone else for that matter. You hand him over to Danarius, he's broken he just goes with him. For someone of his (mysterious) age, past, beliefs, and demeanor, he's remarkably weak when it comes to relationships. I consider that good character development.

Its like Fenris said. You are the first person to ever get this close to him. No one else ever has. So, he is going to be a bit touchy with affections. If you aren't going to give it all to him, he doesn't want to go through the pain. But it isn't like he stops his feelings. If you started something with Fenris but move onto Anders, its clear as day he still loves you. Its nearly heartbreaking dialogue.

Age is more or less near the same in DA2. I kinda miss the wizened Wynne. But, if I have to guess, I would think Fenris is only a few years older than Hawke. I do think all the torture he has been through has physically aged him. Compare him to other elves. He is very much a youngester to them.

I'm thinking he's making certain realizations at that point considering what proceeded it.  Though, really, it could take on different meanings depending on if you've done the 'Beliefs' quest already or not at that point.  If not, could be that he's admitting to himself what a fool he's been.

He sort of just had everything he believed and thought true showed to be a lie if he's to believe his sister.

If Hawke had him keep his sister alive, does anyone have any ideas on what might come after that? I figure he probably would have nothing more to do with her, but at the same time... I could kind of see him waiting a few years(what, like... 7-12, the way the game is paced) and eventually trying to talk with her again.
