Probably because your best friends are all in your party with you at the time. And yeah, I think Merrill would be pretty easy to fool.

If all your besties (and romanceable character) are in your party, the one kidnapped is the one with the highest 'friendship' score, according to the book.  In my case, I left Fenris at home, just to see him kidnapped.  Desperately wished there'd been a little...more, since he was a romanceable character, but still...  >.>  My rogue knifed the ***** that kidnapped him.

I'm not quite done with my first game but trying to plot what I want to do in the second. To have Fenris kidnapped, when should he not be in the party?

Leave him home for the mission "Best Served Cold", and have your sibling die in the deep roads.

Not clear on what you're asking. Do you mean him adding 2c during the Fenris/sister conflict or him reflecting on his past with Bartrand after he spares him?

If you tell Fenris not to kill his sister, Varric interjects and tells him he knows though doesn't feel it right then that killing her is the last thing he (Fenris) wants to do.  In my game, I had already talked Varric down from killing Bartrand.  I wondered if Varric kills him, if he still says that to Fenris.

Varric speaks up either way. If you let him kill Bartrand what he says changes from a normal don't to it to a I did it and regret it feeling.

It still gets me when Fenris says "I am yours". Makes me giddier than when Alistair called me "my dear".

Well, Fenris is standing right there, I am flirting with Zevran...nothing is happening. I am disappoint. Does anyone have this on video instead? I've picked all the flirty options, no one's saying a word, except Anders' interjection at the start about knowing who Zev was. Perhaps because I've already done Alone? I dunno. Owell. Endboss is dead, so it's time for playthrough 2 anyway.

I have to say. I'm angry that I'm romancing Fenris as an archer. Twice now, my bow and quiver have blocked his face when he is obviously giving me a deep look or something. Over the shoulder views have really cheated me in these moments. >_<

When I reloaded that part to see what happens if you flirt with Zevran in front Fenris, I noticed that nothing happens at the part where you first meet Zev in the cave. It was later, after we'd killed the Crows, that Zev was saying his goodbyes to Hawke and he casually said "Unless you want us to get to know each other before I leave...?" That's when Fenris interjected for me.  I don't think Zevran makes that offer unless you flirted with him in the cave, though.  

Lol it was so weird when my Hawke was all "Ooh, I wanna manhandle you" to Zevran and Fenris doesn't say a thing. I guess he assumes Hawke is only kidding around until the moment Zevran makes a move at the Crow camp.

lol. d'oh. I did not even attempt to go further. Yeah, I've seen it now. And yes, I agree, it's odd that he doesn't pipe in there until Zev basically propositioned her. Haha. Hahahaha.

Jealous Fenris amuses me greatly. Ok. Time to roll my mage. Or play Rift. Decisions.

I feel your pain, fellow archer.  You just know you're missing some awesome Fenris action because of your weapon choice.  /sigh...  Bioware did this to my Infiltrator in ME, too.

LMAO I don't know why I'm tickled that a tough elf, that can phase through bodies and squish hearts, and a powerful possessed mage, that goes berserk when he sees Templars, can be kidnapped. Thank you for sharing. When does this happen? Act 3? I'm still not done with my first playthrough. (Schooolll, final stretch until Spring break)

Questions. Someone might had asked this already. Anyone able to spell out what exactly Fenris was swearing, which translated to: You're going to be the death of me in Tevinter? This is one of the rivalry romantic scene. I replayed the saved files three times but still couldn't work it out.

Btw, I managed triggered Anders /Fenris confrontation scene, XDDDDDD

@inclemency, according to the guide (didn't I say I am a BW junkie), it's in Act 3 and only if his scale is the highest or if you are romancing him and not having him in your active party.

So um, watching vids and playing about now that I'm done w/ the game, and I've noticed something. Or maybe it's just an artifact in the art, but does Fenris have something tied into that ...red...ribbony thing on his gauntlet? At first I thought it was just the ribbon/whatever, but sometimes it looks like something is stuck inside it. I can't ever make it out though, and not sure if it's been talked about. That's a lot of pages to reread.
