Well I know it means it's progressing, I'm just wondering more if he lopped off some of her hair to stick in there. It kind of looks like hair. Or a feather. Sometimes. I can't get a good angle on it. Best shot was at the end, where he kisses her all hotly in front of the entire party and every mage in Kirkwall. But I'm still not really sure what it is.

It's Hawk's family crest, I think.

Noooo. Not that thing on his waist. At certain angles, there's something sticking out of the ribbon he's tied around his gauntlet. I dunno, I'll just go see if I can't angle him into a corner and get the camera in closer on it. *does that*

Definitely something tied up in that ribbon. Hair wouldn't really stay... probably a feather? Why a feather? If you look straight on (at least on my PC) the top part vanishes. But from the side there's clearly something in it.

Finally!!
I was wondering when the prompts were going to start up again.
*gets out paper and starts sketching*

Maera- It has been confirmed that its a scarf from Hawke as a favor. As to what is under it no clue. Does look like hair though.

So um, watching vids and playing about now that I'm done w/ the game, and I've noticed something. Or maybe it's just an artifact in the art, but does Fenris have something tied into that ...red...ribbony thing on his gauntlet? At first I thought it was just the ribbon/whatever, but sometimes it looks like something is stuck inside it. I can't ever make it out though, and not sure if it's been talked about. That's a lot of pages to reread.

I do believe someone clarified that it was a lock of Hawke's hair.

I'd find it touching, rather than creepy... Well, that is unless he lopped it off as she slept. If she gave it to him before she feel asleep, that's cool.

well, I only assume its hair. Cause it matches my Hawke's. Someone should make a white haired Hawke and see if it changes. If it doesn't then it might be a feather (hawke, hawk, fenris is quite the clever elf) or a graphical mistake.

No, it does not change depending on Hawke's hair color, nor does it go away if you're playing a bald Hawke. At this point I'm going with an error or something, since it doesn't show up properly at all angles.

Considering he has feathers in his costume of the same persuasion (or am I seeing things in that screen cap?), why did a lock of her hair enter the equation? You guys are starting to creep me out. xD That's some pyscho stalker move there.

Because people did -or used to- keep locks of hair in remembrance of someone. Not always for a romantic partner, either. Nothing stalker about it. I still have a lock of one of my first dogs' fur, which was nice after he passed away. Though I am more inclined to think it a feather just based on how it's shaped, if it's anything at all. As yuki says, it doesn't show up properly at all angles and could well be a graphical glitch.

Right, but would you openly wear the lock of hair? If it could be explained in Elven culture, or that that was somehow heard of in Thedas, I could understand. But right now, every instance of having a lock of hair from someone, in my memory, has always been for creepy, perverse reasons.

Okay guys, late to the party again. Finished the game friendshipmancing Fenris with my male mage default design Hawke.

That last kiss guys? The hottest damned part of the game. I'm not even sad there was no sex scene.

Here's the alternate first romance scene when Hawke is in friendship with Fenris. Apparently Fenris can glow and push Hawke against the wall like the rivalry version. In this one it shows Fenris' face as he looks at Hawke after he shoves him against the wall and Fenris does not look to the side when he's slammed against the wall either.

I've seen people wearing locks of hair within lockets. Not 'open' because, yanno, it'd fall out and get lost. But I've seen them worn openly, but secured in some fashion. It's possible that's what he has, without it being creepy. I've never known anyone keeping it for creepy reasons, which may be why I'm not seeing it as creepy.

I wouldn't wear my dog's hair openly, no. It's a dog. But if I was inclined to lop off a bit of my boyfriend's hair and put it in a locket, I'd wear that. And I'm hardly a creepy psycho stalker. I think it's rather sweet, but I've always found exchanging of such tokens to be touching. Putting your boyfriend's ring on a chain, or viceversa. Lock of hair is just another take on the theme.

H-How do you get an alternate friendmance? I friendmanced him and Hawke pushed him against the wall :(

Let's assume that Fenris would tie a lock of hair to his wrist with a ribbon... it wouldn't last very long, much less stay there perfectly for years.

So no, I don't think it's hair. Whether or not Fenris would want to keep a lock of Hawke's hair, beard, whatever.... I dunno.

I don't think it's hair, myself. Not with where it's tied. It'd be blown away, as much fighting and moving about as they do. Not sure what it is, but I doubt it's that. Just saying, it wouldn't be creepy-stalker if it was. Though we'd have to pull the 'wizard did it!' to explain it staying perfectly in place so long.

On another note, I think it would have been cute to have gotten some story behind him tying that thing on his gauntlet.

It doesn't look like hair.

Humph...perhaps one of the dev can clearify what it is?

I'm obviously in the minority here in being creeped out by how many ways he has to brand himself mine. There are some complications with obsession, and if people are fine with it, awesomesauce. For me, I'll think of it as a feather.
