I just figure it's an armor strap. Man, people get worked up over the weirdest things. lol Though I wouldn't think a lock of hair would be creepy. As others have said, it's a remembrance the same way a favor would be.

It looks like a thong to me and no not the underwear kind, but the ones used during the medieval times fasten or secure something. They used thongs to tie their hair so maybe Fenris doesn't go too extreme and just uses Hawke's hair tie instead of his/her actual hair.

The video isn't of my Hawke, but the uploader said it MIGHT be because they were not at 100% friendship. I've seen lots of videos of this scene and this version is pretty rare. I want to know if there is an alternate rivalry version.

Well, one thing I noticed that was different in one of the vids (as I got the glowy wall push), was that I went to him in his house. The person who got the other version waited until Fenris himself came to Hawke's manor. Maybe that's what changes it? I'm going to test that when I get back to that point. But it won't be tonight.

Yeah, it just looks like some sort of small strap to me. Dunno if it's a hair tie since it wouldn't be something universal (like, regardless of Hawke's appearance or gender it's not strange to have a scarf or bandana whereas hair accessories are linked to a specific physical appearance).

Oh I know what it is now. It could still be a thong for one of its definitions is "a strip of leather or hide used for whipping; whiplash" So it's a small memento of their S&M love time in the bedroom. Mystery solved:police:

I have a question for those that didn't get the glowy kiss scene did you take every flirt with Fenris? And not flirt with anyone else? Because I've done both those and the only kiss scene I've ever got is the glowy one using the "Don't Go" option when Fenris comes to talk to you in your mansion after he storms off at the end of the "A Bitter Pill" quest.

 instead of saying don't go , you could pick your not a burden, then leave and come back to your house and he shows up and does the none glowy kiss

Ahh, so you're saying that maybe if I  #1: Only flirt with Fenris and #2 get all the flirt options, then it'll trigger the glowy scene?

Or the opposite of that?

Yeah, I got that one not long ago during some dialog experimentation. I like the glowy kiss better I think. I was just trying to decide if it was dependent on using the "Don't go" option or if it had something to do previous actions/dialog options and that option.

Has anyone else noticed how Fenris' idle animations (what happens when you stand around for a little while) Change as the game progresses. At first he's constantly looking over his shoulder and tends to twitch a little. But later on he becomes a lot less nervous.

I hadn’t! How interesting. I love these sorts of little touches in this game.

That's an interesting thought.
I've never thought of what his hair color might've been or if it even have changed. My guess is that it used to be red and the lyrium turned it white.

I wondered about that, but I think his eyebrows are too dark for it.

Not sure. That's what I'm trying to figure out.

I had actually read somewhere that you had to do the Questioning Beliefs before you did his Bitter Pill quest and that triggered the glowy. Not sure if it's possible and I haven't tried it yet, but it's a thought

Could be actually, if that's the conversation that I'm thinking of. The one where he's getting drunk on the wine? There is a dialog option, it's a flirt option, where you tell Fenris that you are interested in a more intimate relationship. He turns down the offer that night but doesn't really find the thought totally abohorant. I'm wondering if this dialog option has something to do with the glowy kiss scene. This requires testing!

Well...it's just Fenris never seemed to have any character development to me. He never changed, never lightened his views on mages - and while I can understand that to a point...its been what? ten years? You think he'd be like, 'okay...so maybe not all mages are evil.' or at least something.

Now I'm not asking for a complete 180 or for him to suddenly go frolicking through the flowers with Merrill and Anders hand in hand but...I'd like at least something to change, even if just a little.

However on my first play through I neither romanced Fenris, nor was a mage and I've heared you don't really get to see any of the LI's develop character wise unless you romance them. So I was wondering if it's different for those that do?

Just curious.

I only ask because as a character he has a lot of potential...tragic characters usually do if they're done right...however if their's no character development than, for me personally, Fenris just seems...shallow, like the typical angsty good looking male added for the sake of appealing to all the teenage girls out there.

So basically, I want to like Fenris (ah...the voice) but I need character development to do it.

Opinions?

I think there are steps he is making. From the banters it is clear that he is searching his way and place in life. He even attempted to pray at some time, though he vehemently denies that. There are some options where he accepts that circle is just a sort of slavery. He does like the keeper and respect her, even though she was a mage. He was the only one I saw development in. It is funny how perception woks, isn't it?

There's nothing significant enough, imo, to indicate that he has changed his position on mages. There's a small banter between him and Anders where he does admit not all mages are crazy, Hawke, for example. Anders says, "I notice you don't mention me." If Hawke is not a mage, then Fenris then refers to Bethany as the example instead. There's also a "touche" moment early on when Fenris asks a mage Hawke if it bothers Hawke that he is a slave and Hawke can say does it bother him that Hawke is an apostate? To be honest, I really did think that Fenris wasn't going to stand by Hawke in the final battle when she choose to stand by mages because there was nothing big to indicate a change of perspective. I don't think Anders ever softened his position on templars, did he?

Fenris' character development is based on his anger over his past and how to move forward. He struggles with defining himself once he deals with his inner demons, so to speak. The intensity of the overall relationship will help dispel the sense that he seems shallow. Or maybe not. =p I've seen someone say he's written for the Edward fangirls, but people I know who hate Twilight still think he's a great LI.

As I have successfully romanced him as a Rival and as a Friend, and have seen both the templar and mage endings, I DO think he has changed.

The fact that even if you sided with the mages, Fenris would still be at your side if you maxed Friendship. Whereas Anders will never help you attack the mages, Fenris is willing to attack the templars. It shows that he can put down his hatred for magic to do what is at hand. He doesn't think siding with the mages is right but he cares more about Hawke than old hatreds.

Which brings me to another point I was wondering...many of you keep writing about how you chose to side with the mages.

I'm puzzled, I've always been pro mage(playing one 90% of the time as well) but the mages in DA2 kind of...made me rethink my opinions of mages in the world of Dragon Age. I did both of the endings and much prefer the templar one, despite Meredith going crazy because of the idol. At least that can be blamed on the idol and not her being an idiot and turning to blood magic.

So why are basically all of you siding with the mages? I'm curious, especially if you've been agreeing with Fenris' ideas.
