Based on nothing.

I agree with this whole heartedly; we already had an elven LI and he's wearing thin on meSaibh wrote...
I'd rather he not be the M/M romance option because we just had an elf LI. And while personality is not limited to species, seeing that Isabela is fitting the Depraved Bisexual role to a tee (provided her personality is like it was in DAO, which all evidence points to) I'd like for the gay option not to be one of the effeminate elves.
If it is him, I'll shed no tears, and I'll trust the writers' decision. But if I were allowed to pick, I'd pick a human male.

._. How immature can people get? I feel so sorry for Gaider having to look at all this ****. I thought this thread was sapose to talk about things that will be relevant in the actual game. But alas, instead you make Gaider leave with your sick fantasies. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't make him romance-able because your making it sick and complicated.
Alright, alright. I didn't really support the turn the thread was taking either but we've moved on and people constantly popping in and reiterating this sort of thing isn't helping.
But back to James Marsters. We know Gaider had a voice in mind when writing Fenris and we also know he's a Buffy fan. It's plausible!

I don't think Fenris will be bisexual, simply because he's an elf. I'm hoping there will be a hunking qunari mage who's willing to give dude Hawke some affection. However, I suspect it will just be a human character we haven't met yet. Maybe Archer Guy.
Do Qunari even have mages? I haven't been able to look at all of the things cos some are blocked, but still, Qunari are more warrior type people. Sten doesn't really like mage Grey Wardens...or women warriors....

Let's also point out Spike was bleach blonde, and Fenris has white hair.

Okay, David has said before that he doesn't like to read about sexual encounters with his characters because they he thinks of them as his children. It's a bit silly to think that he'd base whether someone is a love interest on fans making erotic comments. He knows quite well that happens with all his character.
However, last time I checked, oral sex is a common intimate act. You are absolutely right that we shouldn't go into detail on a public message board, but people saying it's 'disgusting' and 'sick' are going a bit far.

I was talking about a m/m romance. There wouldn't be much problem there as they'd both be warriors.
They have mages who are basically used as heavy artillery and highly distrusted.

They do. They're chained, and they have their tongues cut out; Whether if only the tongues of mages who misuse their magic - IE, using magic without their handlers implicit instruction - are cut out, or if all mages have their tongues cut out, I completely forgot.
Mages are basically seen as dangerous things, though, and are to be pitied.

Don't the mage qunari have their tongues cut out?
LI or not, THAT would be an incredibly interesting party member. He'd be quieter than Sten. Perhaps use sign language to talk. It'd be challenging, but damn fascinating.

They do only if they misbehave. Since there's basically no reason for a Qunari mage to be in Hawke's party, unsupervised by his handler, then I can only assume if we did get a Qunari mage party member he'd be a Tal'Vashoth. Then he may or may not have his tongue depending on when and how he left (or escaped from) Qunari society.
Then again I'm not sure mage Tal'Vashoths are very likely, though. If they really are treated like animals from a very young age, they're probably not very mentally stable and may believe that they deserve to be treated that way. They might not desire freedom at all.
OR two non-mage Tal'Vashoths reproduced for some reason and happened to have child with magical ability, who was born outside of Qun society from the start, and who somehow received decent training from someone. But that seems even more unlikely.
So, as cool as it would be, we probably won't ever get a mage Qunari/Tal'Vashoth party member. But if I'm wrong then I'll be happily wrong.

Yeah, that would be like a character who was a Tevinter slave and horribly experimented on and tortured. Certainly not something we'd see in a companion.

Besides that, I'm sure qunari can procreate outside of Par Vollen. It might be possible to have a mage Tal'Vashoth who was never part of the Qun.

Actually no, it wouldn't be very similar at all. Tevinter slaves and Qunari mages probably grow up in completely different environments.
And even if they were similar, that'd be all the more reason for us not to see two of the same kind of companion in one game.

I'm sure they can too, but Mary implied in an earlier thread that they wouldn't have much reason or desire to. I know it's entirely possible, but that doesn't mean it's likely. Of course, most people you recruit in RPGs are far from being average joes anyway.
