Never said Anders doesn't have bad experiences and I don't excuse Fenris for being a jerk either.  I understand why they dislike what they do. I like Anders. It's specifically all the stuff I mentioned that crosses the line of inappropriate that makes me mad at him. Being smug when betraying a comrade is wrong.

Being smug when betraying a comrade? when is Anders smug about betrayal?

When you tell Denarius he can have Fenris during his sister quest. He says "Thought I was the only one thinking that".

www.youtube.com/watch

That's because they hate each other from day one? Try that to Basti I bet he wouldn't utter a word.

Besides. That option broke my heart, after watching it on YT I coucluded I could never do it. Same reason why in Origin I could never let Alistair died.

Anders and Fenris do not like each other. There is no comradie between them.

Them following Hawke doesn't make them friends.

And he says "I thought I was the only one thinking that" not glad that I wasn't.

Either way it doesn't make it better. I lose respect for anyone who could be that heartless to a friend or no. No excuses.

They aren't friends. It's no different then seeing someone you can't stand arrested for a crime they may or may not have committed and going "good riddance" it's not a betrayal. Danarius isn't going to kill Fenris.

As for heartless? Subjective. I don't see it as heartless. A bit douchey to be sure but Fen had the nerve to tell a rattled girl who watched her friend die that she was a "monster" that was far more heartless to me.

Edit: I just said I wouldn't get into character debates. Needless to say I think Fen has his "heartless monster" moments as well.

Bleh. I hate the Qun. They irritate the heck out of me and I do blame them for attacking.

Grace to me is the mage version of Alrik. A complete and utter douche who should've been killed as soon as possible. Alas unlike Alrik you can't kill her when you first meet her. BS that was.

That to me made sense. He had lost his mind at that pint and was no longer in control of himself. The fact that he does it with hawke in the room is what makes it wallbangery to me. But then again he and Meredith balance each other out on the scales of facepalm worthy douchebaggery.

Always liked them. Didn't like their little attack but I can still see where they are coming from. Soo disappointed I couldn't keep the Qunari mage..

At least with Meredith, she didn't slap me with her insane stick until after the foe was gone. It made her betrayal a lot more hard. I even got to confront Orsino on the bit about Quintens. For some reason, we can't if we sided with him. I felt like I really took down a monster, only to be shown another monster was at my back.

But I digress. If we don't have any strong mage characters ( not Hawke related ), then I don't think we are able to convince Fenris about the goods of magic.

Lol. Damn. That's pretty cold. Oh well can't argue the inarguable. My Hawke does some pretty heartless things to gain power  but he could never bare to hurt that puppy eyed elf.

Not if you were a good Andrastean, you wouldn't. The only ones who bury rather than burn are the Nevarrans, and the other Andrasteans think they're weird as a result.

I actually love the conversation a dwarven Warden can have with Alistair about comparative funeral practices, and how from her perspective, burning your honored dead to ashes is pretty bizarre.

Pfft. My Hawke's don't believe in Andraste. No I don't care that it makes no sense. None of them are religious. And burning the dead makes them cringe.

LOL don't the dalish bury their dead? Then plant trees over them?

Pfft. Qunari mage is where the Qun made me headdesk. Attacking me because I'm a mage or might've been "corrupted" pissed me off. It felt like forcing me down a single path at its finest.

LOL indeed. Orsino though just hit me as going off the deep end against an overwhelming force. Hawke and co wouldn't have gotten away if the templar army hadn't backed off. Orsino didn't get to the point where the army was going to be allowed to backoff so I can see him going "screw this I'm going out with a bang".

Hey it only takes one good example! Hawke can potentially be the best example for Fen. If not Beth. Alain would be an example of a fool good mage with good intentions and didn't go insane even after usingbloodmagic. It would of course take time and effort but what doesn't?

That said I think I'm pretty much in agreement on the issue.

Yes they do. Alistair says that's a beautiful sentiment, life springing from death.

Oh Alistair, I recently rewatched the "Licking a Lamp Post in Winter" conversation...

Which is funny since Fenris is also a member of the "Never Licked a Lamp Post" club... or if he has he doesn't remember >_<

Nice to know Hawke rocked his socks though!

Oddly enough I had that thought myself. Morrigan says she doesn't know what Flemeth is and tells us the stories the Chasind tell about Flemeth from Flemeth's POV, but Flemeth lied to Morrigan about so many things...

I'd laugh like hell if Flemeth was the Maker. lol

Thats what the Qun is about. Everyone has a preset destiny. You either live with it or die. They applied their ideals and beliefs on you. A harsh existence the Qunari must live.

Orsino was pushed to the edge. Still, it showed he was weak in the end. All I ask is for one strong central mage character that we can rely on. One that hasn't resorted to blood magic or terrorism to make a point. But since now the Circles have revolted and the world is on the brink of war, that guy is like the needle in a flaming haystack in the middle of a swamp.

Always love to agree. Only reason I stay in this section. So, so much hate in the General Discussion.:crying:

Seriously. Flemeth lied about so much....

God, I would die laughing if Flemeth turns out to be the Maker. But she seems to evil to be the Maker....

Unless she's like Revan....who made a choice....

The Dalish do bury their dead, yes. But for humans--those who worship Andraste and the Maker, at least--cremation is an important religious symbol. Even if the Hawkes aren't especially devout, what else are they going to do? The only human nation where they would have graveyards and a tradition of sticking the dead in a box and leaving them to rot* would be Nevarra.

* Not necessarily what I, personally think, but how it might be perceived by someone from a culture where cremation is the norm.

Fenris betrayal is just...terrible. He doesn't fight it. He gives in. After all you did for him, after he thought he found someone to trust in, he finds out he is alone. He gives up without a fight and looks so dejected. Even if you hate Fenris, there is no way you can do that and not reload.

I couldn't do it even if I did reload! The Puppy Eyes of Doom rip my heart into itty-bitty tatters. Image IPBImage IPB

Ummm, quick question, after the first "up against the wall" scene, do we get anymore nookie with Fenris? Image IPB(I haven't made it past Act 2 yet)

Not sure actually. But I assume after you finally romance him in Act 3 he is willing and able.

Bleh I don't care how character breaking it is. My PC buried their mother.

Maybe I'll just justify it by saying they talked with Merrill about it and decided to grow a tree over her. Some new plant Merrill found and they named it Leandra.

Yes, but just a kiss before the final battle. But it's the hottest scene in the game:wub:I love me some aggressive Fenris. Oh and you do it when you make up in Act 3.
