And yeah, I can see how it can viewed as disappointing not to experience that with Anders. He's very sweet in what he says though. Babies are mentioned, even if may not necessarily mean between him and Hawke.

And yet, Fenris declares his love for you even WHEN he runs off and he breaks your heart. Even if you turn to Anders to sooth the wound. "Break her heart, and I will KILL YOU".
This, above everything else, is why Fenris is better. "I will love this woman/man forever. It matters not if she/he returns those feelings. They are worthy of my devotion."

I was super-super-sad I didn't get a kiss with Anders in the Gallows scene. The one with Fenris is adorable ... I'd have thought after everything you'd gone through with Anders, choosing to side with the Mages and sticking by him after what he did, that you'd get an emotional moment with him like that. But no. Made me sad AND a little angry, actually.
EXACTLY!
I get to the Gallows scene, I talk to everyone else, and then I go to Anders. My fellow mage, my love, who I'd spared in the end because I couldn't part with him...
...and he doesn't touch me!
Vivian Hawke is still standing there, because I never finished that game with her. It was just a real let-down, especially since my first playthrough was a Fenris romance, and after his endgame kiss, Anders was just...
...
...an empty kind of nothing. Even if he had terribly sweet things to say.

@Heidenreich - well, I don't know about Anders not being a PDA kinda guy; that first hot, panting
kiss in his clinic wasn't exactly in private.
That dialogue, about mattering not if he returns his feelings, is that in the game? Is that if you start a romance with Fen but end it and turn to Anders? Wow. That's pretty awesome.

Yeah. Let's face it, even the 'happy' romance ending with Anders is bittersweet because of the Justice situation. It would have been nice had BW just thrown us a bone (so to speak) with a little more interaction at that point. After everything Hawke has just done for him, I just expected something a bit more ... intimate with him.

@ CrookedAsylum Heh, how many Hawkes do you have? I've only played as a female Hawke and finished the game romancing Isabela first, followed by Fenris. They're both tough nuts to crack, which I adore.
I have one failed playthrough, one completed one, and three I'm doing simultaneously, each with a different dominant personality so I can ogle the changes in my respective Hawkes.

I have a possible entry for the prompt this week, but it's deserving of a PG13 rating, and is about two pages long in Word.
Is that still ok to post? xD

That particular quote is paraphrased by the additude Fenris portrays in act3 if you've moved on to anders ;x It isn't something he actually says. He DOES threaten Anders life though
As for Anders and PDA.. Initially he's all "PDA STEAMY KISS", but as the game continues you see him pulling away and there is less and less "I love hawke" and more "insane mage quest" ;p
Where Fenris is less PDA, but more open with his effection and loyalty.

How was it a hardship for his family to be freed from slavery?
Well, imagine that your whole life you've been told what to do and as long as you do what you're told you can get by alright and then all of a sudden you have to start taking care of yourself.
You have to find a job, a place to live, since slaves don't get paid you wouldn't have expirience dealing with money...
Freedom could seem pretty terrifying! Like the slave girl you meet in his Act 2 quest, she was compleately baffled and had no clue what to do. She just asks, "Are you my master now?"
I can see how something like that might be scary at first, but eventually one would overcome that and move on. And realize... hey, I'm free. And not a slave. I would appreciate the sacrifice my brother had for me, rather than **** at him about it years later because I didn't want to put in the effort of taking care of myself.
You're thinking of this, as if you're suddenly free in a world like Kirkwall or Ferelden, where there IS something like opportunity for personal achievement and betterment. If you read up on Tevinter, or just listen to Fenris as he describes it during gameplay, there simply is no such chance in that country. There, rather, you're mired in an endless battle for supremacy, a total anarchical and chaotic game of "survival of the fittest".
Many elves in Tevinter actually sell themselves and/or their children into slavery. Otherwise, they starve. There's nothing else left for them to do. When you consider that sort of desperation as being so common a thing, it really does highlight what Fenris' sister was saying to him, when she said, "Freedom was no boon."

That will always happen in my playthroughs. I find mHawke and Fenris so sexy especially preset Hawke. Someone put together a video of the final kiss with their preset mHawke. It has the all outcomes of the dialogue choices:CrookedAsylum wrote...
My female Hawkes always end up with Anders. My male ones always end up with Fenris. I'm not quite sure how this happens.

But at least it starts very strong and continues as such til the finale, can't have everything perfect i suppose, but suppose this is about Fenris, so, uh, wooo we get to romance Baltair/Fenris!
In regards to the video above my post (numericaly, not superiority of course) i'm glad i'm use'n the sarcastic route more so than usual now

Rivalmance or Friendmance Fenris?
ACTUALLY make a unique Hawke or fantasize with the preset Hawke for the third time?

Can this even be remotely compared to Fenris' romance?

I believe Anders' was meant to be more bittersweet than anything. You have to keep in mind, Vengeance is a rather nasty big brother and tends to... skew things for poor Anders. I wouldn't be surprised if, at the finale, Anders is still coming to terms with what he did, his love for Hawke, and how Vengeance kind of f's with both. I do believe he even tells you at one point that Vengeance dissaproves of him having a relationship. And, by extension, you.
I do indeed have a softspot in my heart for Fenris and Anders both.
Because it isn't obvious at all.

I don't think I'll be able to romance any of the other LI's.. He is now official on my "top-three favorite LI's" list.
My favorite scenes with him so far: *WARNING SPOILERS*
- The scene with him and Kelder (if you bring him as a companion) I can't remember the quest.
- The entire bitter "Bitter Pill" quest. I especially love the dialogue after he has killed Hadriana and post-sex about why "they just can't work with" his flashes of memory. There is just so much emotion in his voice and when it cracks.. I just wanted the option to have my Hawke give him a hug.
- The questioning Belief Act 3 where he asks for forgiveness *swoon*.
- The final kiss (the option where he says "Nothing will keep me from you") Now that's a steamy agressive kiss. *fans self* But I wouldn't expect anything else from Fen, he is quite agressive in-game.

I really enjoyed Anders' friend romance. It's just confusing knowing who you're dealing with sometimes. In the start it's Anders predominantly. By Act 2 when you finally quit flirting and he gets what he's waited three years to admit he wanted, he tells you Justice doesn't approve. By the end he says he can't tell Justice from Vengeance anymore. So it is bittersweet. You realize apparently it wasn't just Anders Vs Justice inside him, it's Anders Vs Justice who is struggling against Vengeance. It's hard to deal with 3 fighting personalities in your head. And I hate the "anders is crazy" thing too. He's denied control of his own behavious there at the 3rd act. He even says he's like a puppet in a banter with Merill. If he was crazy he wouldn't be aware of things like that.
And Fenris, I adore him, and I love the Zev scene. But honestly that scene with Anders where he questions your relationship? Fen ticked me off. Yell at Anders about being a hypocrit, fine. But look at ME and deliver "a mage and a hypocrit, what company you keep." while giving me this look and I was annoyed as hell.

He's lucky he's cute.,

[Off-topic, on-topicness (Not part of immediate discussion, but on subject of Fenris, does that make sense?)]
Hell, you people think about the same things I do. *Points back several pages to the posts about kids* I went out to dinner with a friend last night who is also playing DA2, and there happened to be a family sitting behind us with a little baby and we both wondered what the DA2 LI's would think of kids/having kids.
I know (and joked) my mage (templar-sided, stays in city) would probably think about it but never bring it up because she thought it would be a subject uncomfortable for Fenris (and herself-- she's very easy to make blush. How she ever flirted as beyond most intelligence. Probably caused her a lot of "I'm just gong to shut up and die now" moments). Then Aveline and Donnic would have a baby and she'd totally be all over it and want her own, but still be quiet about it, yet somewhat bringing up the discussion.
My rogue (mage sided, evidently on the run), on the other hand, would totally walk into a tavern and see a little toddler that was really cute and that she could easily entertain, turn to Fenris and say, "Can we have one?" With her maturity level (About 90%--95% of her replies were sarcastic) + their rivalmance, she'd probably get a "No", and then she'd totally attempt to puppy-eye one of the puppy-eye masters into it.
[/Off-topic, on-topicness (Not part of immediate discussion, but on subject of Fenris, does that make sense?)]
@UltiPup
Finishing up rivalmance on my rogue-- I have to say I personally like friendmance better. I'm such a sap for sweet fluffiness between Hawke (especially a mage) and Fenris. Rivalmance is pretty damn hot though. *Turns on ceiling fan*
