I, for one, absolutely adore Fenris. And I don't even go for the angsty type! He's well-rounded. Yes, he broods, but it's warranted, and it's not as if he can't crack a smile. I like my companions with a bit of depth (which is one of the reasons I love DA), and I wasn't disappointed. And I know some people are complaining about his platinum hair, but y'know... they do say a really traumatic event can turn a person's hair white. (Or it could be the lyrium.)
Buuuut I'm a sucker for Gaider's characters.Take what I say with a grain of fan-girl flavored salt.
And devs? Excellent choice for his VA.

He has some serious charm under all the brooding, you're right. And I agree about the hair. I knew a guy in school that was in a bad car wreck, his friends died he lived and his hair turned snow white. I would guess having Lyrium burned into your flesh could do it too. I mean the process wiped his memories away it was so painful. He reminds me just a wee bit of Zev when he lets loose that charming smile of his.

That, I think, is a small part of his charm. That hint of Zev.
Of course, Gaider's writing is fan-flipping-tastic. And I'll never be able to play FF12 again without seeing Fenris in place of Balthier...

Ahahaha well, my Hawke!rogue is a joker, so I can see him getting the occasional thwap to the back of the head. xD
EDIT: Unless you meant the "Glowstick" moniker all by itself. I honestly did NOT think of the dirtier aspects of it until just now. Accidental entendre for the win? :innocent:

Outside the Hawke Estate, morning
Fenris: (throwing a rather large stick) Fetch! (Dog retuns with the stick in his mouth) Good dog. (Dog barks happily)
Hawke: Ah, a boy and his dog.
Fenris: (smiles slightly) I thought Rabbit would like to get out of the house before all of those nobles started crowding the street.
Hawke: Just Rabbit?
Fenris: While it is entertaining to watch the wealthy react to my appearance, I much prefer peace and quiet.
Hawke: I know the feeling, you'd think that after a few years I'd get used to the hustle and bustle. (looks down at the stick and notices that its glowing slightly) Fen, where did you find that stick?
Fenris: Sundermount.
Hawke: You brought that stick all the way down from Sundermount just so Rabbit could have something to play with?
Fenris: Yes.
Meanwhile in Darktown
Anders: (tearing apart his clinic) Where is it? Where is it? Maker's breath I must be going insane! I swore I placed it right next to my bed last night.
Varric: (walking in) Hey, Blondie Hawke's waiting for us- Whoa, rough night?
Anders; Varric. Have you seen my staff?

Well, since we don't know for certain, we can only speculate they are everywhere... Especially since Danarius strikes me as a sadistic son of a b*tch.
okay, is it me, or is Fen programmed slightly like Zev was, to protect Hawke?
He did it with my mageHawke too. Even with Aveline in the party. I think it might be predisposed for him, like Zev. Only Gaider would know for certain.Maera Imrov wrote...

I mentioned this to my b/f. It does seem to me that more oft than not, if someone comes after my rogueHawke, then Fenris comes flying in to bash their skulls in. Sometimes it's another. Usually it's him. I don't know if it's an AI predisposition, or just a consequence of him being the only warrior I tote around sometimes.

And I just got the little defensive outburst Fenris has when Zevran tries to sleep with the Champion.
"Just how far do you want to push that luck?"
I was surprised Zevran wouldn't have simply asked if Fenris wanted in, and then Fenris glares coldly for several seconds before either picking up and tossing Hawke over his shoulder and walking away or somehow actually wanting in.

How do you get the glory kiss?
Do you have to be 100% rivalry / friend or something?
You have to do his Questioning Beliefs conversation about the anniversary of his escape before you do his personal quest about Hadriana, I think. Then when you tell him not to leave, you should get the glowy kiss. I got that one myself. I think if you do it afterward, he leaves and then comes back later.

Actually, with my rogue (alternates between dual wielder and archer), he'll abandon what he's attacking if she's attacking it too. I don't know if that's because she has amazing Crit Chance alongside a pretty high Crit Damage. My mage on the other hand, is hilarious to play on. She'll be all la-di-da down a cave, (ex.) spiders drop, Fenris jumps on the one closest to him, and then suddenly all the spiders decide that they like Hawke better and all come and jump on her (except the one Fenris is killing). I don't think I've ever seen a two-hander warrior come tearing down a battle-field faster. First time it happened I was "Holy sh... You're my hero! Goddam spiders!"

He'd probably do that with my rogue too-- and she'd probably beat her fists on his back going, "Put me down! You never let me have any fun-- Oh! I see! You want me all to yourself! ;)"
The mage would never have the nerve to do it. Again, flirting for her would be along the lines of, "I can't believe I said that. I'm just going to shut-up and die-- I'm so sorry if I embarrassed you!" *Blush furiously as LI responds*
