That mixed with the whole "it's so emotional and intimate that it brings back his memories" (Please gag me with a spoon) as well.

I agree with you guys on this. I think it's a bit lame that he just leaves for three years and doesn't say a thing the whole time. You don't even get the option to go to his mansion and talk to him about it or anything. And then three years later, all it takes it helping him kill his former master and he just jumps right back on the horse (no pun intended ) no questions asked. And you still can't talk about it. In any given relationship you are almost guaranteed to have at least two conversations about this - one after the breakup and one when he shows you that he wants to get back together. But there isn't even any friendly or awkward talks the whole time. That was one of my big problems with this game compared to the first one is that there is not enough companion dialogue options - like you could do at camp in #1.

I liked how you could go to camp anytime and chat up any one of your characters. In this one, you only get the set dialogue after companion quests and stuff....

I don't think so.  

Hawke will literally say "You didn't want to talk about it." to Fen's "About that night..." 

They never talked about it. 

As for Varric. That excuse is getting a little thin to me. Varric wouldn't know a lot of the things that happened so it's not Varric's fault now. 

Then there's the codex. 

Just seems silly to me. 3 years of not talkin about it? Fits some of my Hawkes fine but others? Makes no sense at all. Only way I an justify it is by saying Hawke feels the relationship is done with and that Fen was letting them down easy.

Well, I do know when Hawke got propositioned by Zevran, Fenris stepped in, even though nothing had been resolved at that point (well, at least in my game).

I actually can buy that since Varric is telling the story, he may not have it completely right. 3 years is just too long for what is going on. Especially since Hawke can then throw herself at Fenris again, and he responds immediately.  So I suddenly change my head canon -- Fenris refused to talk to Varric about it, and Hawke probably wasn't telling him all the gory details.

Edit: It's also in his codex that he refused to speak of it (I believe) and that there's unresolved feelings etc etc etc.

I miss initiating nookie - yep, I'm perverted; as if you didn't know.

Ummm, going through the soundtrack - did anyone else notice how similar the songs Fenris' Theme and Mage Pride were? Hmmmmmmm......

Oh! Do I have to flirt with Zev to get Fenris to step in? He didn't in my playthrough

Why do my posts never want to show up?

So for those of you who played as a mage - and I am getting the impression there are a lot of you - is it difficult to find armor upgrades and stuff, or do you pick a lot of it up? I don't know if your loot depends on your class or not. I played as a rogue - and loved it - but it seemed like there was almost no mage stuff anywhere! I am thinking of stating a new game as a mage, but I want to make sure I will be able to keep my weapons and armor up...

I'm just going to go back to the subject of Isabela for a moment. I love her. She is hilarious. So she gets around and it gets me pissed that she sleeps with Fenris. It's not because it's Isabela. I'll just crazy jealous if anyone sleeps with Fenris. Anyways it's scenes like this that make hard not to love her character: www.youtube.com/watch

Yeah and a rivalry Hawke will just let it drop? Hawke has no problem aruging with Fen about everything else. Your arguement only works for certain Hawkes.  As does mine. 

My issue is that none of my Hawkes are the type to just leave it be without getting something solid out of Fenris other than "I just can't." 

I'm not sayin they would've forced him into a relationship. But they would've ended the issue one way or another before 3 years.

I loved that one too. And the one in The Hanged Man where the drunk guy starts rambling about how much he loves her and then she and Varric proceed to mock him. Hilarious. She and Fenris are my favrites. Can't get enough of either of them. They were both permanent fixtures in my party.

After Fenris dumped me, i refused to take him to quests with me, i was really hurt.

But then he came back and he is the only one still with me after the game ends.

For Hawke to know he didn't want to talk about it, Hawke very likely had to try to talk to him about it. The fact that it caused him to remember doesn't strike me as overly treacly, but then again, I tend to enjoy things that are more existential/mental/spiritual so to me it was better than 'Eh, I just can't handle being with someone, bye.'
