An incredibly attractive elf with a tragic past who broods and doesn't like being touched.

That kind of screams really depressing LI status right there. Forced Abstinence was sexy one hundred years ago, now its back in style thanks to dragon age.

Don't know  if anyone asked it before, but does it only hurt him when someone touches him skin to skin? Or do his lyrium tatoos alway send signals of much pain no matter what happen? If so, Fenris could have troubles in a fight.

If Fenris' attitude about his past is similar to Shale - a roll of the eyes and a smart sarcastic remark - I'm keeping a close eye on this boy. You can have your angst elf, just don't be cryin' rivers of lyrium over it baby.

Very cute I hope you end up coloring it, chibi's deserve color to boost their cuteyfullness, also that belt is pretty epic it alone could be his weapon

This is what I was thinking too. But because he's a living weapon, there must be something about him that keeps him alive.

I was wondering if maybe his stats would reflect a really strange imbalance. Like high strength + evasion + speed, and incredibly low defense.

Edit: 'd

Personally, I hope that it's only skin-to-skin. He wouldn't be a very effective weapon otherwise.

I do believe Gaider said that it pains Fenris when his tattoos are touched, so that may imply they're fine otherwise.

The smirk in his screenshot kind of indicates that he isn't going to sit in a corner going "Oh woe me and my sad fate *tears*" I personally think(hope) that he has a grim/sardonic sense of humour. I also think he'll deal with his angst in either brooding or a much more aggresive fashion.

Maybe the pain is dulled, like it still hurts but not exactly like bathing  in liquid fire, since Gaider said he'd flinch and all that before socking someone in the face, instead of being touched  and you know falling to the ground in pain because someone gave him a hug

So, i was having think and what if Fenris' former master loved him but he did not feel the same way. This broke is former masters heart and filled it with rage. So they decided if they cant have Fenris then no one else can, therefore burning the lyrium into his skin so he could never be close/intimate with anyone else. Just food for thought.

I kinda brought that up earlier when I asked what everyone thought the gender of the master would be, when the possible thought of her being female got brought up cue, he's got his own personal fangirl, that only hurts him because she loves him.

Edit:

And well if that's the case she's gonna be fun to eliminate, when it comes time for personal character quests:devil:

I don't have any crayons I could use... I prefer simple pencils plus my digital art skills are almost non-existent. But I wish I could give him some colour... :-/

To me it doesn't really matter why the magister did what s/he did or what gender they happen to be, I'll be getting rid of them either way because in the female scenario she's delusional and dangerous and in the (in my mind more likely) male version/non LI female version they have an obviously limited respect for sentient beings and are therefore wide open for my Hawke to dispense some pointy pointy judgment.

And yeah! I'm finally on Christmas break, I thought my head was going to explode.

I'm not sure - I think the lyrium was burned into his skin as part of the process which made him into a living weapon, and that it being painful to touch is one consequence of the process [I wonder if this means they haven't perfected the technique yet?] That's another thing - do you think other Tevinter magisters have slaves/weapons like Fenris, or is he one of a kind? I wonder how many people were involved in the lyrium-burning.

I also wonder if it's just elves who are selected for this process, being exposed to raw  lyrium like that...*shudder* humans probably can't handle it, and dwarves I would assume it'd take a lot to make it effective

Plus there's the possibility the experiment was not succesful for the first time and more people had died before Fenris's new 'power' was born...

*Leaves dark corner of sulking* ... Poor Fenris. I'd suggest we could hug him but...

==EDIT==

Thestral wrote...

He's pretty glow-y in the
concept art but not so much in the screenshots we've seen. Obviously
we've only seen a few screenshots, and obviously not everything from
concept art is carried directly over - I wonder if he glows in-game -
maybe only at certain times? 0:"

I had a moronic idea that perhaps the tattoos began to glow when he blushed, but again, moronic idea.

Yeah but the whole it feels like liquid fire thing---less of course the pain isn't as terrible as we think it is, it just might be slightly uncomfortable

Have to work during my christmas break, bah....

But yes, I'm sure there where others before Fenris.
I mean the Tevinters are not limited by the Chantry, so they can experiment with magic.

Though do you think that there are Magisters or others that watch the younger mages in case of demonic possesion?

Gaider said himself that touching him is excrutiating to the point he will punch someone, other then hawke.

DId he? I thought he said he'd flinch and then punch someone other than Hawke in the face?  If not then I stand corrected on the excrutiating part
